Check out your customers, see all your transactions, search and edit customer lists, send invoices, track sales reports, adjust your settings, and get quick answers to common questions. Get help from the Square Support Center or learn more at http://www.square.com/register-setup. TRANSCRIPT Here’s a step-by-step look at everything you can do with your new Square Register. First, and foremost, you should get to know your customer display. It snaps to Square Register easily. Just press firmly on the bottom edges of the customer display to ensure it’s locked in place. And it powers up automatically when Square Register is on. To undock the customer display, hold in the release latch located on the bottom of Register and lift the display out to move it closer to your customers. Grab the included customer display cable. Plug one end into the bottom of the customer display and the other end into Register. A simple unplug and replug will also restart your customer display. To customize the image on your customer display, log in to your Square Dashboard on your computer. Get step-by-step instructions in our Setting Up Locations video. And keep in mind, you can always connect a cash drawer, printer, and bar code scanner with the included accessory hub. SQUARE REGISTER SETUP AND MENU Before we go over all the ways Square Register can power your business, you’ll first want to make sure your device is connected to the internet and that you are logged in to your account. Just look for the Wi-Fi symbol or Ethernet arrows. Your point-of-sale app is under Checkout. This is where you can ring up items from your item library, type in custom amounts, offer discounts, or look up the balance of your customers’ gift cards. To edit your item grid on the fly, hold your finger on a tile until you’re in Edit Mode. Then add new items or arrange your items any way you want. You can create or edit items, categories, modifiers, discounts, and gift cards here in your item library. Change prices, add variant price points for different sizes, and charge tax for the item. Or don’t. If you’re editing many items, it will be easier to log in to your Square Dashboard on your computer. PAYMENTS HISTORY Search all your transactions by receipt number or card in the transactions tab. This makes it easy to print a new receipt or issue a refund to your customer. Just find the transaction and use the big buttons at the top. ADDING CUSTOMERS You can add new and existing customers to a sale from checkout, and to manage your customer list, tap on Customers in your main menu. It’s easy to search all your customers by name, phone, or email. You can resolve duplicate customers and create new customers, right on the list. To add a customer to the directory, just tap “Create Customer,” enter their information on your screen, and even save a card on file if you want. Long lists of customers should be imported on your Square Dashboard. You can also see valuable information about your customers, like who your regulars are, and who hasn’t been back in a while. Try Square Marketing in your Dashboard to send them offers to get customers back through your door and increase your sales. INVOICES Square makes creating and sending invoices right from your register a snap, too. Your Square Register will send an email to your customer and they’ll be able to pay your invoice with a click. SALES REPORTS Square Register makes it simple to see daily sales reports at a glance. Just select the time period for which you want to see your sales, and, poof. There they are. And then see the deposits Square’s made to your account with a single tap. TRANSCRIPT GETTING STARTED WITH APPOINTMENTS Square appointments is an easy to use app that includes your calendar, your customers, payments and point of sale. It’s easy for you and your customers and is now free for individuals. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE Let’s start with what your customers see. All they have to do is click a service from your online booking site. In this example, our customer wants to book a haircut at Penny Harper, a business with multiple employees on staff. All they have to do is click Book an appointment Choose from the list of provided services and click Continue. Customers will then have the option to choose their staff member or "Book with any Available" if they just want to get in fast. Next, they’ll find a day and time that works best for them. Finally, they’ll enter their contact info, add a note if necessary, and click "Book Appointment". The appointment request will be sent to you for approval. They get confirmation and then can get friendly automatic reminders via text or emails, to stay on top of their schedule. Which means less back and forth for you and your customers, just a confirmed appointment that’s on the books. You can also require customers to prepay, or collect cancellation or no-show fees to protect your time. MANAGING APPOINTMENTS REQUESTS Square Appointments makes managing multiple appointment requests a breeze. You can see all your pending and upcoming appointments as well as client messages at a glance. You get to control your schedule, so you can Decline…[action] or Accept appointments and your customers will be notified of your response. If accepted…[action], the appointment moves to your Upcoming Appointments on your calendar. MANAGING STAFF AVAILABILITY Square Appointments makes it easy to gather information about how busy you and your staff are at any time. There are three ways to view staff schedules. Day View; Week View; and List View. Choose Day view to see the booked time for any individual employee. Week view to see upcoming appointments for all of your staff members. Tapping the badge icon in the top right allows you to select the staff schedules you wish to view. You can also manage each added staff members’ time right from the app. Tap the Plus button in the top right to Create a Personal Event, like a Dentist Appointment, for one of your employees. Set the duration of the event, and select who it applies to. Those changes will automatically be reflected on your calendar, so customers know when you and your staff are away. CLIENT DIRECTORY With the built in customer directory, you can see notes about your customers and their purchase history, so that you can improve their experience each time. To access the directory, tap the Menu icon in the bottom Left, then Clients. Select a customer from the list to view their upcoming appointments, review purchase history, and see any notes staff members have taken. CHECKOUT Once the appointment is over, you can check your customer out right from the Square Appointments app. Just tap on the appointment in your calendar. The sale will be associated with the staff member the appointment was booked with. Tap Review and Check Out. Add any additional items or services, like some Shampoo then select Charge. Appointment information will automatically carry over from the booked appointment. Choose any payment method your customer prefers and complete the transaction. Or you can even send them an invoice. If they’re a regular, you can also put a card on file, so their next checkout is even more seamless. And just like that, your appointment is checked out and you’re on to the next. Inside your box there’s a Square Register, customer display and cable, getting started guide, power adapter and cable, accessory hub, mounting plate, and mounting tools. Start by removing the protective wrap from Square Register and the customer display. Carefully lift the customer display out of Register and lay it down flat. Then, remove the protective foam pad. Square Register has a touchscreen, power button, micro USB ports, cleat slot for the mounting plate, and release latch to undock the customer display. Adjust the viewing position of Square Register by carefully tilting the screen. The customer display has a touchscreen, EMV chip card slot, NFC antenna, magstripe reader, and micro USB ports for the customer display cable. To get Square Register powered up, connect the accessory hub to Register by plugging the cable into either one of the micro USB ports located on the bottom of Register. Then, grab the power adapter and connect it to the accessory hub. Plug one end of the power adapter cable into the power adapter and the other end into a power outlet. Square Register must be connected to a power source at all times. How to set up the customer display The customer display can be docked for more compact counters, or undocked for tiered or wider counters. To dock the customer display, make sure no cables are connected to the display, then simply place it into its slot on Register. Press firmly on both edges until you hear a click to ensure it’s locked in place. To undock the customer display, turn Register upside down and carefully place the screen onto a soft, clean surface. Hold in the release latch located on the base of Register, and remove the customer display at the same time. To connect the customer display when it’s undocked, use the included cable. Plug one end into the customer display and the other end into the bottom of Register. How to turn on Square Register Once your customer display is set up, turn on Square Register by pressing the power button until the Square logo appears on the screens. Set up your internet connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. We recommend connecting by Ethernet for the best performance. Simply plug one end of the Ethernet cable into your router, and the other end into the accessory hub. Next, confirm your time zone.Sign in with your existing Square account, or set up a new account at http://www.square.com on a computer. How to set up hardware accessories You can connect a cash drawer, printer, or bar code scanner to Square Register via USB. Simply plug them into the accessory hub. When the confirmation appears on screen or you hear the sound, you’re connected. To test your accessory, go to Settings, tap your connected accessory, then tap the test button. Full transcript: "Let’s take you through a sample business day with the square register app. Before you open, make sure that your ipad is on, has sufficient power, and that you’re running the latest version of the square register app. If you accept cash, you should update your cash drawer. To do so, tap the three horizontal bars in the lower left hand corner to access your menu, Then tap “reports.” Then “current drawer.” Enter your starting cash amount, Then start the drawer. Now tap the menu icon again, And select “register.” In the “favorites” menu, or the “list” menu, you can tap any item you would like to add to the sale. Make modifiers or notes if necessary, [tap “pickles”] then tap add. To add a charge amount that’s not already assigned, tap the calculator in the lower right hand corner. Type in the dollar amount, [enter “5.00”] then tap the red plus sign. A running tally of items appears on the right-hand side. To delete an item from the tab, swipe left on the item name. Once you’ve rung up all the desired items, tap “charge.” Select the tender type or split the bill between cash and credit. If a customer is paying with credit, simply swipe the card like so. Next, the customer can tip and sign depending on your selected settings. Tap “new sale” and you’re ready for the next customer in line. As the day goes on, there’s bound to be a customer who asks for a receipt or refund. Just tap the three horizontal bars [tap menu] and select activity. If it was a recent transaction, scroll to the transaction you want. To locate older transactions, you can swipe the customer’s credit card, enter the receipt number, or the last four digits of the card. When you find the sale, you can re-send a receipt, Or issue a refund. Tap here to enter the amount— You can do a full or partial refund. Select a reason for the refund, And then tap the “refund” button on the top right. At the end of the day, tap the menu icon and go to reports. Select “current drawer” Then “end drawer,” Enter the actual amount at the bottom, And then tap “end drawer.” And “confirm.” Select “drawer history” to view all past drawers, Including details such as start time, end time, and expected dollar amount in the till. To email a drawer report, tap the mail icon in the top right corner, Enter an address, and tap send. And that should give you a good idea of a day in the life with square register."

Inside your box there’s a Square contactless and chip reader, charging cable, and a Square magstripe reader. The Square contactless and chip reader has an EMV chip card slot, power button, port for the charging cable, and NFC antenna built inside. The battery should last all day on a single charge with normal usage. To check the battery level, press the power button. Four green lights indicates your reader is fully charged and it’s ready for payments. Three or two green lights indicates a partial charge and it can take even more payments. And one red light means your reader needs a charge immediately. To charge it up, plug the cable into your reader and a computer, USB wall charger, car charger or USB battery pack. It should take two to three hours to get a full charge. Four green lights means your reader is ready for business. Now let’s connect your reader to your device. You can connect Square Reader to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth LE. Make sure your device has the latest version of the Square app. You’ll need to do this before you can connect Square Reader. Next, go to your device’s settings and turn on Bluetooth. Now you’re ready to pair your device with your reader. Open the Square app. Go to the menu, Settings, Card Readers, Connect a Reader, and then Contactless and Chip Reader. Press and hold the power button on your reader for about three seconds. When the four orange lights start flashing, release the button. The Square app will automatically pair with the reader. Your reader may go to sleep to save power. If it does, press the power button once and the Square app will connect instantly. Square Reader comes with a USB cable so you can connect it to Square Stand. Plug the cable into your reader and your Stand’s USB hub to accept payments, and keep your reader charged all day. Square Reader connects automatically and you’ll know when your reader is ready. You can also connect with a Dock for Square Reader. Place your reader into the dock with the USB port facing downwards. Then, set the clip in place to secure your reader. Take the dock’s USB cable and plug it into your Stand’s USB hub. The dock charges your reader, gives it a home on your counter, and positions your reader to accept contactless payments and chip cards. Now let’s start taking payments. You can accept chip cards and contactless payments with the Square contactless and chip reader and swipe cards with the included magstripe reader. Make sure you position your reader so it’s within reach of both you and your customer. This lets you accept payments quickly and easily. Select an item from your library or enter a dollar amount for a new item. Then, tap Charge. Wait for one green light to appear on your reader. This means it’s ready to accept payment. To take a chip card payment, insert the chip card into Square Reader chip-side facing up, and leave it there until you see the checkmark or four green lights appear on the reader. To take a contactless payment, tap Charge, wait for one green light to appear, then have your customer hold their contactless device near the reader. Four green lights will appear, and when you see the checkmark, you’re all set. To swipe cards the old-fashioned way, just use your Square Stand’s built-in magstripe reader or use the included magstripe reader with your device. To connect your printer via USB, plug one end of the USB cable into your printer, and the other end into Register’s accessory hub. To connect via Ethernet, plug one end of the Ethernet cable into your Wi-Fi router, and the other end into your printer. Make sure Square Register is connected to your Wi-Fi router’s network. To connect a printer and cash drawer together to Register, plug your cash drawer into your printer. Then connect your printer to Register’s accessory hub. For this particular setup, you’ll need to create a printer station. Printer stations let you designate specific tasks for your printers, like printing receipts, tickets, or stubs. With your printer plugged in, go to Settings, Printers, and Create Printer Station. Enter a printer station name. Now select what you’d like your printer to print. Make sure you select at least one option. Then tap the printer selection menu and select your printer. Test your printer by tapping Test Print. Then, tap Save. Your printer station settings are now saved and can be applied to any connected printer. When you see all that is going on in the media, it will make you afraid.It’s like, what will happen to us? Even, like, make me scared about my business. It’s like, are we still welcome here? But when my baby was born, I remember looking at her. She’s born here. She’s an American. So at that moment—that moment I decide to be strong. In 2011, when things got worse in Syria, and I just have to leave. Like, maybe the thing will get better, and I will go back—but this never happened. The first time I came to Knoxville, I still remember that day. Driving around from the highway, a lot of, like, big cars. I was scared of almost everything. A lot of my Arabic friends, they scared to come here, like, “Oh, they hate Muslims.” “You will not have a good life in America.” You come to a country and you don’t have nothing. Nothing. Zero. You can’t make money because I wasn’t allowed to work. I don’t speak English. You don’t know nobody. Refugee life is very hard. Where do you start? Like you start with people, maybe they speak the same language. So I went to the mosque. It was, like, about 4 minutes walking. And that took me like 2 months to know where it’s at, ’Cause I don’t know GPS. I never work with the GPS in Syria. I asked them for work, and they told me like, unfortunately, they can’t offer a lot of jobs, but we can offer you food, monthly help. And that was hard for me. It’s like, I can’t do it. Can you let me just sell sandwiches here? My small dream was to sell falafel and juices like we have it in Syria. This my food. And I want to give it with my love, with my style. And they let me do it. So I wasn’t making much money, but I was happy doing something. NADEEM: I met Yassin here at the mosque, and this guy for a year or two years just consistently would come and sell these sandwiches. A lot of people would line up after the prayers got out.So I tried out his sandwich and it was really some of the best I’ve ever had. So I asked him, I was like, “Why don’t you just open up a store?” YASSIN: Because I don’t have money! It’s the only reason I’m not doing this. It’s like my credit was, even if I claim everything, the best credit line I was given was $300. NADEEM: So we decided to team up and we found an empty spot in an a building downtown, and opened up Yassin’s Falafel House. YASSIN: The feeling of having like a restaurant, a real restaurant—so when I see it now I still don’t believe it. It’s not an easy job. Sometimes you have a very hard day, a 12-hour shift, catering in the morning, you’ll get tired. But having a business will give you the chance to represent yourself. It’s not only work. It’s a message. My customers, they are my friends. Different faiths, different colors, different race. Because this is what Yassin’s Falafel House is about. It’s about community. Whatever happens outside of this store, just forget about it and come in. You are safe here. We hire refugees. Who are just like me. Who come here with nothing. People who want to work, and want to be happy. The situation in Syria destroyed our family. My brother is in another country, I’m here, my father’s with my sisters. It’s not easy. It’s like, what will happen to them? Their future? It’s hard for me. SERMON: A lot of people that you know and you don’t know have contributed to what makes you. And for that, we ought to be grateful. Everybody is great at a time of ease. Everybody wants to show the best of them at a time of prosperity. But it is at the time of adversity, at the times when things are not going your way, is when we really realize what that gratitude of yours, what that gratitude of mine, is made of. YASSIN: I’m very grateful to be here. I’m very grateful for my family. And, we are strong together. I just think back about where I was, and what if I was still in Syria. Not many people know my last name. A lot of people are like, “Yassin Falafel.” And I’m not mad about it. If they remember me of the good food and good taste, I’m really happy with it, like, it’s okay. One of my dreams is not having one store only. One of my dreams is to get our message everywhere. Even the people who decide, oh, they don’t like Muslims, they don’t like refugees, they don’t like immigrants, we have to change their ideas about it. And that’s our job and that’s our message. If you believe in something, you don’t have to leave it and just go. I say, “No.” We’re going to keep the American dream going because this country is for everybody.

Go to your Square Dashboard to start using Payroll. See all the ins and outs of the Square Payroll interface. Import timecards, or set employees’ hours manually. Set their pay rate and Square automatically takes taxes out accordingly. Employees are paid with funds taken directly from your linked bank account. Learn more at https://squareup.com/help. Keyword: Payroll. Transcription: Square Payroll helps you pay your whole team in just a few clicks. Simply import any timecards or enter your employees’ hours. We calculate all the taxes for you, and even email your employees to tell them they’ve been paid. Start by logging in to your Square Dashboard. Then, click Payroll, and Run Payroll. Here you can enter and edit your employees’ hours and earnings for your upcoming pay period. If you are tracking timecards with the Square app or a partner timecard app, simply click Import Timecards in the top-right corner. Your employees’ hours for the pay period automatically appear in the appropriate column. If you’re not using integrated timecards or would prefer to manually enter employee hours, simply click the Regular Hours column and type in each employee’s hours. To add additional earnings such as commissions, bonuses, or tips, click the plus sign on the right side of the screen to select the columns you need. Then, enter the hours or additional earnings. There are many different types of hours and earnings you can capture with Square Payroll. Regular hours are the number of hours worked during the pay period that are calculated at the hourly rate. Overtime hours are calculated at one-and-a-half times the hourly rate, and double overtime at two times the hourly rate. The Additional column lets you include any extra earnings, like commissions or bonuses. These are taxed at the normal rate. You can also add any tips your employees have earned. Paycheck tips are tips to be paid out in the paycheck, typically credit card tips. We withhold tax and include the net amount in the employee’s deposit. Cash tips are tips already paid out in cash. We calculate and withhold the tax, and don’t include this pay in the employee’s deposit. Once you’re finished with the hours and earnings page, click Continue in the top-right corner. Next, you can make any adjustments to your employees’ paycheck. Deductions can be adjusted on this screen, or added to an employee’s profile at any time. Select Continue when you’re done. Now you can see the Review page with a summary of the payroll run and exact amount to be withdrawn from your bank account. If everything looks good, click Confirm Withdrawal. We’ll withdraw funds from your bank account by 8 p.m. Pacific Time. If you need to cancel the pay run, you have until 7 p.m. Pacific Time. Square Payroll makes it easy to pay your whole team.

TRANSCRIPT The easiest way to create items for Square Register is through your Square Dashboard. To get started, go to http://www.square.com/login on your computer and sign in to your Square Dashboard. Select Items, then click Create Item. Here you can name your item, give it a category, choose a color or photo, and enter a description. Fill in any variation information. Set its price. Then, click Save. To create a category, go to Categories. Click Create Category, then add a name. Click Assign Items and check the box next to each item you wish to include. These item and category updates will now appear in your Square Register. To help you find items and categories even faster, you can organize them into pages. Go to the page where you want the item to appear. Tap and hold the item grid until you enter edit mode. Tap on the plus icon where you want to position the item. Then select the item to add it to the page. You can also edit the name of your pages. Tap and hold the page name then label the page, for example, favorites. Tap Done. To switch between items as images or text, go to Settings, then Item Appearance. Choose either text-based items or image-based items. The easiest way to delete an item is to go to Items in your Square Dashboard and click the item. Click the delete button in the upper right hand corner. Click Delete Item to confirm the change. Full transcript: "Creating items in square register enables you to speed up your checkout, and send itemized receipts to your customers. Here’s how you do it from an ipad or android tablet. First, tap the list icon in the bottom navigation bar, Then tap “edit”... Then the plus sign. Now select "create item." Here, you can choose a color or a photo for your item, Give your item a name, Assign a category to find them more easily at checkout time, And set a price. If it comes in multiple sizes or prices, adding that information is easy. Create modifiers to let your customers customize their order. Like, "bread" for example.” Add a clear description of your item to help your customers know exactly what they’re getting—especially if they order online for pickup. When everything looks good, tap "save" in the top right corner. Then "done editing." If you want to edit an item, simply search or browse to it, Then hold on the item to enter edit mode, And tap it once more. Now you can edit item details or delete it completely. Discounts are created in a similar way. Tap the plus sign Select “create discount” and enter the necessary information. Next, let's go over creating pages of your most popular items for easy access. The number one in the bottom navigation bar is your favorites page. To re-name this page, enter edit mode, Then hold your finger on the number one. Label this whatever you’d like. We’ll go with “faves” You can create up to five favorites pages. Just add an item to the last available page to get another blank page to pop up. Tap "done editing", and see that your items are now easy to find with a simple tap. All these items show up on customer receipts and in your sales history. Before we go over the things that make it great, you’ll first want to make sure your device is connected to the internet. Then, launch the square register app and sign in with your username and password. The first thing you’ll see is a five-by-five grid where your items and discounts are just a tap away. To create an item, hold your finger on a blank tile until you’re in edit mode. Then, tap the “plus” sign. From here you can create new items, discounts, or add category shortcuts to your menu, but we’ll talk more about these functions later. To view your item library by category, tap the “list” icon on the bottom navigation menu. Or tap the “calculator” to ring up a custom amount. After you make a sale, you can use those funds to buy inventory, new equipment, or anything else you need for your business. ORDER AND PERSONALIZE YOUR CARD To order your Square Card, go to Deposits in the Square Point of Sale app. Tap Square Card and create your card. Confirm your name and business name, then personalize your card. Use the signature box to sign your name. Tap Next to see a preview of your design. You can edit the design or, if everything looks good, tap Next again. Finally, confirm your shipping address and order your card. ACTIVATE YOUR CARD When you receive your new card, you’ll need to activate it. Go to Deposits and tap Square Card. Then, activate your card. To get started, you’ll be asked for the confirmation code sent to your account’s contact email. Enter it and continue. There are two ways you can activate your card. First, you can manually enter your card details. Or, you can swipe your card through a connected Square Reader. Once you’ve entered your details, you’ll choose a four-digit pin. Confirm it, and tap “finish.” If you need to change your pin in the future, you can do that from the card management section of the Dashboard. Your card is now activated. Please note, once your card is activated, your funds will no longer be deposited to your bank automatically. They'll stay in your card balance. You can always manually deposit your funds from the Deposits tab in your Dashboard or in the Point of Sale app. Deposits will come as soon as the next business day. You can also instantly deposit your funds for 1% of the total amount. VIEW SPENDING AND OTHER CARD FUNCTIONS To view all of your processed payments, go to Available Balance. In a nutshell, you set up a free eGift Cards order page, share the link with your customers, they buy eGift Cards for your store, send them over email to anyone—a brother, sister, friend, grandma, whoever—and the gift card recipient comes in to buy stuff at your store. Bam! New customer! SET UP YOUR ORDER PAGE Let’s take a step-by-step tour of how to set up your eGift Cards order page: Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Gift Cards. Click Get Started and it’s time to set up your eGift Cards store. You can offer cards with our premade designs, or upload a design of your own, select the gift card amounts you want to make available, and add any additional notes. It’s free to set up your order page, and it goes live when you click Publish. Click View Now to see what your page looks like. Customers will be able to select from the available card designs, choose the amount of their card, fill in the recipient and sender names, add a personal message, and send the eGift card immediately, or at a later date, like for a birthday. You can also offer promotions or discounts to your customers. When your customer buys the eGift card, the recipient gets the full amount. We subtract 2.9% and 30¢, and then your account is credited the remainder of the balance in your next deposit. There’s no additional cost to you or your customers, or when they use the gift card to pay. HOW TO REDEEM EGIFT CARDS Now let’s see what the redemption process is like. The eGift card recipient gets an email with their 16-digit redemption code. Then they can attach their phone number so they can redeem funds with their number, email, or the code. When you ring up the sale, you tap Charge, enter the 16-digit redemption code here, or if your customer wants to use their phone number, tap Credit and Gift Cards on File, enter their number, and tap Charge again. Learn all about the different ways you can send invoices with Square at https://squareup.com/invoices. Square lets you send recurring payments for customers who pay in installments. You can even keep their card on file for subscriptions and charge their card automatically. You can also set a date in the future for an invoice to go out, share invoices with multiple recipients, and send reminders if a previous invoice has not yet been paid. Square is constantly improving our tools to help you do better business and get paid faster. Transcription: You’ve got the basics on sending invoices, but there’s more you can do to help get paid faster and keep great relationships with your clients. Set Up Recurring Payments You can now set up a regular, recurring payment schedule with your clients in just a few steps. From your Invoices page in your Square Dashboard, click on the Recurring tab, then Create Recurring Series. Enter a new name and email address, or select a customer from your directory. If your client has already saved their payment details, you can select one of their cards to be automatically charged on a regular billing cycle. If you don’t have their payment card on file, select “Send Invoice by Email.” Next, select the start date, recurrence frequency, and end date of your recurring invoice series Fill out the remainder of your invoice and click Schedule. That’s it! Schedule Invoices for a Future Date If you’d like to schedule a single invoice to be sent at a future date, create a new invoice and then: In the Payment drop-down menu, select “Send Invoice by Email,” choose a date the invoice will be sent, and select a payment due date. Fill out the remainder of your invoice and click schedule. That’s it! You’ll receive a notification email once the invoice is paid, and funds will be automatically deposited per your set deposit schedule. Save Card on File You can also save a card on file for your customers to get paid even faster. There are two ways to save a customer’s payment card: Your first option is to allow your client to save their own payment details by creating a new invoice and making sure that the “Allow Customer to Save their Card” option is checked. When your client pays their invoice, they will have the option to save their payment details securely on Square so that you can streamline future purchases. Or you can save their card details on their Customer Directory profile by clicking on Customers in the navigation pane. From here you can either create a new customer or select a current customer. Next click the three dots on the right-hand side of the screen and select Add Card from the drop-down menu From here you will enter the card details and your customer’s email address. With this method, you must have written authorization from your customer to save their payment card. Use the provided template form by clicking Download Form, send it to your customer for their authorization, and save that acknowledgement in a secure place. Sharing Invoices If you need to share an invoice with multiple people, we can help with that, too. Simply click Add Additional Recipients and input up to nine new email addresses. If you would prefer to send a more personalized invoice via email or text message to your client, simply create an invoice and in the payment delivery drop-down menu, select Share Invoice Manually. Add your item and click Create. Next you will click on the Share Link button and copy the URL to your clipboard. This URL can be shared via email, text message, or any social media channel. Invoices can be manually shared at any time. Even if the original invoice was sent automatically via email. From the Invoices page click on an existing invoice. Click More and select Share from the drop-down menu. Invoice Reminders Lastly, you can send a reminder to your clients in no time. Just choose the invoice from your list you want to send a reminder about. And click Resend With all these tools, you'll be on your way to faster, easier invoicing, so that you can spend less time billing and more time running your business.

You can start taking payments with Square as soon as you sign up. Link your bank account to get paid for the payments you take with your Square Reader. Transcription: You can link your bank account from your Dashboard or the Square app to start receiving your funds on any one of our deposit schedules. There are a few things to note before you get started: You will need to link a United States bank account to process payments using a U.S. Square account. Square requires a transactional bank account (an account that allows for both deposits and withdrawals) to support refunds or chargebacks. Which means prepaid cards or online-only accounts (such as PayPal) aren’t supported at this time. You will need your full routing and bank account number to link your bank account. With Square you can start taking payments immediately. If you haven’t had a chance to link your bank account, don’t worry, we will keep your funds safe until you have the opportunity. If your business has multiple locations, each location can share a single bank account or you can link a unique bank account to each one. To add an account through the Dashboard: Click Account & Settings, Bank Accounts, then Add Bank Account. Select the account type, enter the account holder’s name, the routing number, and account number. You can find this information listed at the bottom of your checks or displayed in an online banking dashboard. You can also contact your bank to confirm this information. then, Click Verify. To add an account from the Square app: Tap Menu Tap Settings, then Link Bank Account. Enter the account holder’s name, the routing number, and account number. To verify your bank account, Square will deposit and withdraw one cent. Sometimes this deposit and withdrawal may process simultaneously, so you’ll need at least $1.00 in your bank account before linking it. Virtual Terminal lets you take payments without a reader, right on your computer, for only 3.5% + 15¢ per transaction. Then get your funds in one to two business days. Transcription: With Virtual Terminal, you can key in card payments right from your computer. Just head to your Square Dashboard and charge your customers in seconds. No extra hardware, reader, or app required. You pay three point five percent plus fifteen cents per transaction, the same rate as other manually keyed-in transactions. And just like other standard Square payments, you get your funds in one to two business days. To take a payment with Virtual Terminal, log in to your Square Dashboard. In the left-side panel, click Virtual Terminal, then Take a Payment. Enter the payment amount followed by your customer’s card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing ZIP code. Add a note for your customer, or describe the purchase. Then, click Charge. You can send an email receipt to your customer, or print one out for your records. Once you see Payment Successful on screen, you’re all set. Payments you take with Virtual Terminal appear as card transactions in your Sales reports. In your Transaction Status report, the source appears as Virtual Terminal. You can edit your Employee Management settings to grant employees access to Virtual Terminal. Start by clicking Employees, located in the left-side panel of your Square Dashboard. You need at least one employee in your employee list. To give an employee access to Virtual Terminal, click the name of the employee whose permissions you’d like to update. Then, click Edit Role. If it has not been checked off already, toggle on Access Employee Dashboard. Check Take Payments with Virtual Terminal. Then, click Save. After you grant an employee access to Virtual Terminal, they receive an email with instructions on how to use it. Employees can only see account information that you have granted them access to. Let customers write in the tip amount or choose from three preset options on a Quick Tip receipt. With printed receipts, you need to record—or settle—the final payment amount on each signed receipt daily. There are two options for settling payments. To settle payments individually, go to the Menu and then tap Transactions. Payments that need to be settled have a clock icon. Tap a payment and enter the tip amount. Tap ADD and the Settle Dollar Sign Total. To settle payments in bulk, open the Menu, tap Transactions, and then tap the credit card icon in the top-left corner. Enter or select the tip amount for each payment. Tap Settle, and then tap Confirm Settle. You have 36 hours to settle payments. Learn how to use the adhesive mount and the screw mount, then choose the right method for you. TRANSCRIPT You can mount Square Register to your counter in two ways: with adhesive or with screws. You’ll need the included mounting plate and tools. Heads up: Do not attach the mounting plate to Square Register before mounting the plate to a surface—you won’t be able to remove it from Register. Start by trying out Square Register in different positions on your counter to find the perfect spot. To mount Square Register with adhesive, use a damp cloth to clean the area where you want to mount Register. Wait for the surface to dry completely. Grab the mounting plate. Remove the backing strips located on the underside of the plate. Position the plate so the raised cleat is on your side of the counter, not the customer’s side. Then, press down firmly for 30 seconds. Wait 30 minutes for the adhesive to set. Place Register onto the mounting plate with the larger screen facing right. Make sure the cleat is positioned in its slot. Turn Register 90 degrees clockwise so it locks in place. That’s it! If you need to remove the plate, slowly pull the tabs on the adhesive strips until they release. Be careful of the plate as it may spring loose. To mount Square Register with screws, you need the mounting plate, a drill and the included drill bit, screws, and thumb nuts. Position the mounting plate so the cleat is on your side of the counter, not the customer’s side. Use a pencil to mark the four screw holes on your counter. Use the drill and the included drill bit to make the four holes you’ve marked. Position the mounting plate onto the holes you’ve drilled, and insert a screw into each hole. From the underside of your counter, place a thumb nut onto each screw and tighten until the thumb nut is flush against your counter. Pro tip: To manage Register’s cables under your counter, drill another hole on the side or in front of the plate. Place Register onto the mounting plate with the larger screen facing right. Make sure the cleat is positioned in its slot. Turn Register 90 degrees clockwise so it locks in place. Now you’re ready to start selling. [TRANSCRIPT] To get started, go to square dot com slash login and sign in to your Square Dashboard. Select Items, then click Create an Item. Here you can name your item, give it a category, choose a color or photo, and enter a description. Set its price. Fill in any variation information. Then, click Save. To create a category, go to Categories. Click Create a Category, then add a name. Click Assign Items and check the box next to each item you wish to include. These item and category updates will now appear in your Square Terminal. Once you have items and categories set up, you can filter your item list on Terminal by categories or by searching directly for an item. Once you’ve found your item, just tap it to add it to the sale. The easiest way to delete an item is to go to Items in your Square Dashboard and click the item. Get answers to your Square questions at square.com/help. Advanced Reports let you create and customize your sales reports. From the Sales tab in your Square Dashboard, you can run reports for things like sales by employee, year-to-date sales, and more. You can also create and save customized reports for your particular business needs. To learn more about creating and running Advanced Reports, go to http://www.square.com/help and search Advanced Reports. TRANSCRIPT CREATING AND RUNNING ADVANCED REPORTS Advanced Reports and Custom Reports give you powerful insights into your sales data. From the sales tab you can filter sales by date, time, location, and more. To see your total fees for any given timeframe, like month-to-date or year-to-date, check the bottom of the Sales Summary. Advanced Options show data through specific filters. To drill down further, use the Display categories. Let’s say you want to view sales by an employee at a certain location during the month of March. Choose your date. Then use the Advanced Options to filter results by employee and by location. To see an employee’s sales, select the name from the drop-down. You can expand this report by selecting from the menu and clicking into each row. If you want to save the data set, export it. To see an individual sale’s details, go to Transactions. Find the sale you want to view, and send a receipt, issue a refund, or add it to a customer’s profile. CREATING A CUSTOM REPORT Custom Reports let you create and save a personalized report. Give it a title and use the filter options to show the information you want. Then select Add Reports, choose from the menu, and customize each report. View or edit your custom report at the bottom of your Sales view. Keyword: Timecard Management Transcription: Square timecards make it easy to keep track of your employees’ hours directly from the Square app. It only takes a few minutes to set up, and lets employees clock in and out right from your point of sale. You can view their timecards from your Square Dashboard, and when it comes time to run payroll, simply import the timecards into Square Payroll to pay your employees in a few clicks. Start by logging in to your Square Dashboard. Click Employees, then Create an Employee or choose an existing one. Now you can create profiles for each of your employees. Make sure you enable permissions, sales tracking, and timecards. Specify your employees’ role from the drop down menu. A four digit passcode will be automatically generated for each employee. This code can be changed at any time. Employees can use this code to clock in and out, and log in to the Square app. Don’t forget to let your employees know their passcodes. Next, set up your Square app so employees can begin clocking in and out. Log in to the app with your owner email and password, or a device code that you can generate from your Square Dashboard. Go to Settings, Employee Management, then toggle on Track Time from Point of Sale. You can also toggle on Enable Employee Passcode Access to restrict what employees can do in the app. Now your employees can clock in and out by tapping the clock icon in the bottom right corner in the Square app, and entering their passcode. If you have enabled sales tracking, your employees will need to tap Time Clock in the top left of the login screen. You can see all your employees’ timecards from your Square Dashboard, and easily create timecard reports. Don’t worry about tallying up hours—all your employees’ regular and overtime hours are automatically calculated. Go to Timecards, then Report. Here you can set custom time filters and export your report as a .CSV file with employee names, locations, and a breakdown of hours worked. You can also clock out employees who clocked in but didn’t clock out, create new timecards, and edit saved timecards. No matter how many employees you have, Square timecards make it easy to track their hours. And when it’s time to run payroll, simply import their timecards into Square Payroll with a click.

CHOOSING YOUR AUDIENCE Once you’re happy with your email, you need to choose your audience. If you have an existing email list, you can upload it here. There are a few options for your audience. You can send to all your contacts, send to your automated lists, or create your own list. To create your own list, you can manually add customer email addresses to a custom set. Or use smart lists to set up filters that automatically group certain customers together. Once you select the filters you want, you can drill down further within the filter’s drop-down menu. Click Next. Select your group options, name your group, and save. Then review your groups, and filter by visited locations. You can also send a preview email to your account’s address or scroll down to see the email before you send. If you’d like to send a reminder email to your list, enable it.
