Paint the Sunset with me

04:55
Hey everyone, This is a very different type of video. I recently took up painting again and some of you requested a Speed Painting video so here it is. Sit back, enjoy the music and paint with little Bubz. This is my 3rd painting lesson with Tim Gagnon. He is a fellow Youtuber and amazing artist. I found him a week ago and have been OBSESSED with his painting techniques. His passion inspires me so much and I'm learning so much from him right now. I'm currently taking the Misty Forests lessons from his website http://www.timgagnonstudio.com/lessons You guys can check out his Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/Gagnonstudio I'm sharing his channel and website because I'm learning so much from him and sharing the joy. I'm not paid by this or anything. I just think he's great and deserves to be known more. I know a lot of you guys are aspiring artists out there and I know Tim would teach amazing things to you all like I did. For 2012, I decided to take up painting for one of my resolutions. I loved painting as a child. I was obsessed with art because I can go anywhere through my drawings. It freed me because it allowed me to escape from the busy World. As I get older, I really realize that the simplest things make me happiest. Sometimes, I feel like the World moves too fast for me. Almost 8 years after High School, I plucked up courage to paint again. Painting somehow slows down time for me because it allows me to be 100% focused on the painting. You guys can read my diary post http://bubzbeauty.com/diary/235-painting-with-passion-again.html for my painting story. I hope it also inspires you guys to go back to your passions. I know we can become occupied with life but really, this has given me back lots of meaning in my life again. I don't think people realize how short life really is so do all the things you want to do that inspires you while you can. Make the most out of it. I'm still learning from Tim right now (You guys should see his original painting of the one I did lol, it's like...breathtaking!!!). It will be a while for me to be as skillful (or if not, half as skillful) as he is. But one day, I would love to give away one of my paintings to you guys as a gesture. If I ever hit 1 million subscribers- that would be such a special thing to do. Some of you mentioned I can auction a painting and put the money to charity. That's a great idea but it makes me nervous. It'll be a fun and good cause and I'll work hard practicing for that day. Ps. Music "Path of Wind" orchestra version from my fav Studio Ghibli anime "Totoro". Nostalgic!! and also "From the Inside out" instrumental from Hillsong. Have a great day, Much love, Bubz xx Check out the Bubzbeauty Official Website. AN ARTIST CREATES AMAZING WALL PAINTINGS

07:06
Nathan Makris was born in Australia, but for the past 20 years he has lived in Athens, Greece. He studied graphic design and illustration in the UK. Nathan started his career as a book illustrator, but after 8 years of working in this field he felt the need to create on a much larger canvas! So he started painting murals on the houses or shops of his friends and family and quickly, his work started to be noticed. Nathan loves using an airbrush to create murals, because this technique helps him to get realistic shadows in his paintings. Painting large murals is a lot harder and much more tiring than illustrating books, but, the feeling he gets when finishing one is incomparable! Fascinating Stories Behind Popular Art

05:41
Top 10 interesting backstories of well known paintings. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Other Videos You Might Like Amazing Stories Behind Iconic Photos https://youtu.be/hBJBRVV_F5E 10 Creepiest Pages On Wikipedia https://youtu.be/CVo4WRaLaL4 Description: When it comes to art, it can speak to people in many different ways. Because the human mind is not universal, we do not interpret art in the same way. What most people don’t realize is that some of the most iconic paintings to have been created have the most fascinating stories behind them. Sometimes the stories are more interesting than the paintings themselves. Each color choice and brush stroke represent a narrative in the paintings birth story, and eventually become a masterpiece that impact people generations to come long after the artist has passed away. Art has the ability to invoke emotions and awaken our senses. From looking at a painting of a forest, we are taken back to our own experiences among the trees. We might be able to smell the wood, feel the breeze blowing by, and visually see the animals and plant life around us. Because of this kind of reaction, artists have a powerful tool in sending messages and making us feel certain things from looking at their work. There is no question that art is one of the most powerful devices for inspiration and manipulation. In this video, you will see paintings from a variety of different time periods and artists. From Vincent van Gogh to Andy Warhol, the artists here each had unique experiences that motivated them to pick up the paint brush. Whether they were trying to recreate a life experience, like what Edvard Munch did in his painting “The Scream” or what van Gogh created with “Starry Night” as he recreated his window view from his room at a mental hospital, or they were trying to send a message like Grant Wood with “American Gothic” or Salvador Dali with “The Persistence of Memory”. Some of the most famous paintings today have assumed stories and origins, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” where people assume the female subject can’t be identified. While she remains a mystery, by looking at historical records, art historians believe that they are closer than ever to finding out the truth about the woman behind the smile. Learning about the stories behind these popular paintings can be both fun and educational. If you look at the origin story of “The Raft of Medusa”, many people are shocked to find out that the painting is based on actual events that include shipwrecks, cannibalism, descents into madness, and death. The painting is the second most popular painting at the Louvre Museum (after the Mona Lisa), and was able to draw a crowd on its own without the historical information. Situations such as these speak volumes about our history and the evolution of mankind. As we grow and develop the world of art, we are finding that we have more in common with the people of the past than ever before. For more information on the fascinating stories behind the world’s most popular paintings, check out the video below. Don’t worry, you didn’t need to take a class in art history in order to appreciate these works of art. 8 Mysteries of Famous Paintings That Will Give You Goosebumps

07:24
Be like SMART BANANA: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L 8 Mysteries of Famous Painting That Will Give You Goosebumps Painting: Lady with the Unicorn Artist: Raphael X-rays of the painting show that the unicorn was originally a dog. In fact, Raphael likely painted the woman without anything in her hands at all — the dog and unicorn were likely added by other artists. In those days, the dog was considered a symbol of fidelity, and her appearance in the picture indicated the imminent marriage. The unicorn personifies purity. Art critics agree that the young Raphael wrote this picture under the impression of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” that he saw. The artist painted a girl in the same perspective as the great master and used the same techniques. As it turned out, the picture had several additions. In the XVII century, the girl drew a cloak, chastely covering her shoulders, and in place of the unicorn. 10 Great Mysteries Hidden in Famous Paintings

10:01
As you know, art is not just a source of inspiration but a great mystery too. Artists often add unique little details to their paintings or leave messages that are impossible to notice at first glance. We’ve collected painting masterpieces with surprising secrets. At the end of the video, there’s a bonus waiting for you: one of the strangest hypotheses about the Mona Lisa. Stay with us and learn the things that you never knew before. TIMESTAMPS The wrong ear 0:55 The painting under the painting 1:55 The Night Watch is set at daytime 2:41 The Sistine Chapel’s anatomical code 3:27 The symbol of strength 4:41 Rembrandt’s squint 5:10 Vengeance to lovers 5:55 Prediction of the end of the world 6:36 The world in yellow 7:48 Mozart and the Masons 8:31 Toothless Mona Lisa 9:02 SUMMARY - The discrepancy is explained by the fact that van Gogh used a mirror to create the picture of himself. It seems to be a strange and sharp reaction for van Gogh to cut off his ear. However, the history explains it with the fact that he was deeply in troubles and, apparently, losing his mind at the time of executing the painting. - If you look closely at The Old Guitarist by Pablo Picasso, you can see a ghostly female silhouette behind the man’s head in the top center of the painting. After taking infrared and X-ray images of the canvas, researchers from the Art Institute of Chicago discovered a few other shapes hidden underneath. - The Shooting Company of Frans Banning Cocq and Willem van Ruytenburch (better known as The Night Watch) is considered to be one of Rembrandt’s greatest portrait paintings which were executed at the top of his career. The painting depicts the militia fully equipped and readying them to embark on a mission. - The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo contains allusions to anatomy. They argue that the right part of the painting is an anatomically correct image of a huge brain. You can find even the most sophisticated components of the brain, such as the cerebellum, the optic nerve, and the pituitary gland. - The figures of David and Goliath in another fresco of the Sistine Chapel created by Michelangelo form the Hebrew letter gimel, which symbolizes strength in the mystical Kabbalah tradition. It is not a surprise that the shapes on the painting look so powerful, is it? - Margaret Livingstone and Bevil Conway studied Rembrandt’s self-portraits and proved that the painter suffered from stereoblindness. This peculiarity made the artist perceive the world a little differently: he saw reality in 2D instead of 3D. - One of the most famous paintings by Gustav Klimt portrays Adele Bloch-Bauer. It was commissioned by her husband, the sugar baron Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer. He found out that Adele and Klimt had an affair and believed that after hundreds of sketches the painter would come to hate his mistress. - The Italian researcher Sabrina Sforza Galitzia proposed an unusual interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. She says that the artist left a prediction of the end of the world in his painting, which will happen on March 21, 4006. - Almost all the paintings of Vincent van Gogh feature a dominant yellow. Professor Paul Wolf explains that as a side effect of an epilepsy remedy that changes color perception. - There is solid evidence that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a Mason. Even in his child portrait by Pietro Antonio Lorenzoni, we can see a Masonic symbol: a hidden hand that indicates a hierarchical rank in the secret society. - What is it that made Mona Lisa’s smile so enchanting and captivating? Dentist and art expert Joseph Borkowski carefully studied Leonardo da Vinci’s painting and claims to have unveiled the secret behind La Gioconda’s smile... #mystery #paintings #secretmeaning Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

You can always add more if needed Step 5: Finalize your tree In this step, add the lightest accents and other flare to make it your own Now that you understand the basic steps for painting a tree with acrylics, go outside, find your favorite trees and try to recreate them or add them into a new landscape painting. ............................................................................................................. 22 AMAZING DRAWING IDEAS TO TURN YOU IN REAL PAINTER

10:14
The first thing to do is not to draw a pencil drawing on canvas, if you want to paint a still life, landscape, portrait and so on. But you can draw and abstraction, experimenting with paint, different strokes, techniques and tools. When painting with oil, tools that are useful to you are not limited to brushes! There are also palette knives, fingers, a rag. What kind of paint to choose for drawing abstractions? You can paint anything, but for the beginning it will be most convenient to take acrylic paints. Why acrylic and not oil? Acrylic have a very big advantage over oil. They change color less when drying, they can work movably, because they dry very quickly. Of course, you also need a canvas for drawing. Take a canvas of medium or large size. I will show you how to create abstractions not only with a brush, but also with the help of fingers, palette knife, plastic film and even a hair dryer. I will teach you to paint patterns and flowers. I will also show you the technique of drawing with water and colored inks. Painting is a kind of art therapy. Creative activities help calm down, distract from annoying thoughts, relax and at the same time provide an opportunity to focus and gather strength. AN ARTIST CREATES FAIRYTALE WORLDS IN HIS SURREAL PAINTINGS

19:48
Do you like fantasy movies, cartoons and fairy tales? Check out this fairytale compilation of surreal paintings created by Greg "Craola" Simkins. He was born in 1975 in Torrance California, just south of Los Angeles. Greg began drawing at the age of three and was inspired by different cartoons and books. Some books still find their way into his art. These include Watership Down by Richard Adams, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis and The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. At the age of 18 Greg Simkins started doing graffiti under the name “CRAOLA”. This kind of art gave him the confidence to paint large works. It also taught him perspective and color theory and developed his skills as well. This experience later helped develop his work with acrylics. After graduation in Studio Art from California State University of Long Beach in 1999, Greg Simkins worked as an illustrator for different clothing companies and bands. Then he moved on to Treyarch/Activision where he worked on video games including Tony Hawk 2X, Spiderman 2 and Ultimate Spiderman. In 2005, Simkins decided to paint as a full-time artist. Since then, he has been featured in various group exhibitions and had successfully sold-out solo exhibitions. His popularity started growing and his work gained recognition, and can now be found in the collections of Nick Cassavetes, Robin Williams, Everlast, Mark Parker (CEO of Nike), Jason Biggs & Jenny Biggs-Mollen, Stefan Lessard (bassist for the Dave Matthews Band), Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson & Josh Duhamel, Joseph "Joe" Hahn (DJ for Linkin Park), Mike Shinoda (rapper, musician for Linkin Park and Fort Minor), Mark Hoppus (musician, record producer and television host), Joel Madden (lead singer of Good Charlotte), and many more. His art can be found in different areas, from the clothing industry to video games and toys. Greg has worked with such famous companies as Disney, Mattel, Logitech, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Blink 182, Linkin Park, Upper Playground, Juxtapoz, To Die For Clothing, Clandestine, Vans, Converse, AFI, Saosin, Gym Class Heroes, Pennywise, Ningyoushi, Kid Robot, Zero Friends, Epitaph, Dark Horse, Iron Fist and Pulse International. In 2009, Simkins founded his own brand “IMSCARED”, a brand of clothing, merchandise and accessories to further expand his art into more everyday mediums that can be worn and enjoyed by his diverse fan base. Simkins’ artwork has appeared in museums and galleries throughout the world. Watch this fairytale video that will definitely amaze you! THIS MAKEUP ARTIST IS A MASTER OF BODY PAINT ILLUSIONS

15:07
Mirjana Milosevic is a talented makeup artist from Serbia who creates amazing body paint illusions and is known by the nickname Kika. Mirjana's parents said that she learned to draw before she learned to walk. She was drawing every day and on any surface that was available. When Mirjana was 11, her sister's friend asked her to draw a cartoon characters mural on his wall. The result was awesome, and she felt really happy doing it. She grew up in a country that was struck by war and it was a really hard time, so her parents couldn’t arrange for her to go to an artistic school. Mirjana spent all of her free time after school on improving her skills. Three years after graduation from high school, Mirjana gave birth to her son, Danilo, and motherhood gave her the strength she needed to start doing what she’d always wanted to do. Mirjana became the most popular kids’ muralist in her country, but because of an accident with her spine she took a break. Doctors told her this was essential if she wanted to have more children. In 2012, Mirjana gave birth to her second child, Nikola. Nikola inspired her to start doing kids face-painting, and she was very successful in that as well. After that, she completed a basic makeup course and became interested in special effects makeup and body-painting. Now Mirjana is a fantastic body paint artist and creates amazing illusions. She has won a lot of awards for her skills: 2015 – The Festival of Serbian Fantastic Film – The Oskull Award; 2015 - 3rd place at the International Face-Painting Competition in Serbia; 2016 - 1st place and beauty vlogger of the year, NYX Face Awards Serbia competition; 2017 - 1st place at the International Face-Painting Competition in Serbia; Mirjana Kika Milosevic is one of the top ten illusionists in the world. Her makeup illusion videos are very popular on YouTube. HYPER-REALISTIC ACRYLIC BODY PAINTING BY ALEXA MEADE

10:44
Alexa Meade is a talented artist from the USA known for her completely new approach to art. Alexa created hyper-realistic body paintings and turns her models into 2D illustrations. On the one hand, this is body art, because acrylic paints are applied directly to the skin and clothing. On the other hand, Alexa uses a technique that was invented in the days of French Baroque, and is well known under the name “trompe l’oeil”, or “optical illusion”. Alexa's models ideally fit into the background painted with the same acrylic paints, and 3D objects amazingly transform into 2D illustrations. As you can see in the video, these body art paintings are created quickly. The one thing is that these masterpieces never become eternity. After the work is completed, models are separated from the background and leave it returning to their own everyday life. Modern art is trying to get as close as possible to reality. This is why hyper-realistic paintings are created. But Alexa Meade, no doubt, succeeded in naturalism more than anyone. Check out this amazing compilation and you'll totally agree! How to Paint Rims - Stripe Color Change

You will also find various helpful 'how to' articles from painting to body repairs. These rims where dropped off with red stripes originally and the entire wheels were sanded and painted. This how to paint your rims video doesn't properly illustrate the prep work that was done prior to painting. The wheels where completely scuffed, cleaned and the black was masked off before painting the rims. The clear coat applied at the end provides the shine and durability of the wheels. This customer had brought me a set of rims from his Mazda 6 that had a red strip originally but he wanted it painted yellow to match the rest of his car. After about 10hrs of work the rims had been painted successfully. I think the rims look pretty sweet, they kinda remind me of the bumblebee man transformer. This is how to paint rims with or with the stripe, base and clear like any other job works great. The rims were first scuffed with a sanding paste and scotch pad to prep them for the paint to adhere. Next the line was taped up and the color was applied to the rims. The first coat was a white ground coat to help my yellow cover better since it is transparent. I used a Devilbiss Dagr airbrush to apply the basecoat and a Devilbiss gti was used for clearcoat. After basecoat the tape was removed and I removed any overspray off the rims and remasked them. The tire was masked off of the rim and the valve stem was taped up also. Two coats of BASF clearcoat was applied and allowed to dry. The basecoat used here was RM ONYX HD Waterborne paint.

18 COOL AND EASY DIY WALL DECOR IDEAS TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIVING SPACE

14:06
SHOP OUR MERCH HERE: https://teespring.com/stores/5minutecrafts HOW TO PAINT THE WALLS These DIY painting tips will help you roll your walls quickly and smoothly—without leaving roller marks. We'll show you the tricks and techniques that painting pros use to get a perfectly painted room. All you need are some basic tools to paint fast, get great results and make clean up a breeze. Painting is one of the least expensive ways to make over a room, so grab a roller and let's get to work. Clean the walls. Tape the trim. Pour primer into a tray. Roll the primer onto the wall. Tip: Follow the manufacturer's drying instructions, which you'll find on the can, to make sure the primer is completely dry before applying paint. Paint the trim. Roll on paint in a “w” shape. Remove the painter's tape. But these are just the basics, let's move on to creative stuff! The first part is a pattern roller, which is a 6-inch wide rubber roller having a raised pattern embossed on its surface. The second part is an applicator which consists of a frame, a handle, and a special foam feeder roller. To use it, you simply roll the feeder roller into some paint (any paint, no special glazes needed), snap on a pattern roller and you're ready to roll! An organisation of painters of metals and wood, is known to have existed as early as 1283. A similar organisation of stainers, who generally worked on staining cloth for decorative wall hangings, existed as early as 1400. The two bodies merged in 1502; the new organisation was incorporated under a Royal Charter in 1581. Today, the Company is less of a trade association of painters, and more of a charitable company with the promotion of education in the fine and decorative arts and crafts as its main theme; The Painters’ Company Scholarship Scheme was established in 2012 to support undergraduates every year at London Art Colleges. THIS ARTIST CREATES FANTASY WORLDS IN HIS SURREAL PAINTINGS

11:29
How Jackson Pollock became so overrated

08:20
There’s an overlooked reason for Pollock’s fame. Even if you love him, you might not know the name of the man who made him famous. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Jackson Pollock is one of the 20th century’s most famous artists. But do you know the critic who made his reputation? Clement Greenberg is a well-known name in the art world, but not necessarily to art fans. However, he earned a reputation as one of the most influential art critics in the 20th century, whose legacy included the canonization of Jackson Pollock. Abstract expressionist art needed vocal champions to support challenging, unique work, and Greenberg was the most powerful and vocal in his defense of the art and, in particular, Jackson Pollock. Greenberg went from tie salesman to intellectual in less than a decade, thanks to strongly worded arguments for a new artform. Jackson Pollock was one of his favorite artists, and the two spent time together socially as they simultaneously climbed in the art world. Is Clement Greenberg the reason that Jackson Pollock is so famous? He’s definitely a part of it — and understanding the role of Greenberg and critics like him can be a useful tool to understanding art in the 20th century. Overrated is a series that takes a look at the things we all know — the books, the trends, and the ideas that have become iconic — and answers the question: “Why is this so famous"? The definition and the criteria have changed since the inception of the term. These paintings adhere to the current definition, and were designated national treasures when the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties was implemented on June 9, 1951. As such, they are restricted in transfer and may not be exported. Owners are required to announce any changes to the National Treasures such as damage or loss and need to obtain a permit for changes in location, transfer of ownership or intended repairs. The items are selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology based on their "especially high historical or artistic value". This list contains 161 paintings from 8th-century Classical Nara period to the early modern 19th-century Edo period. In fact the number of paintings presented is more than 161, because in some cases groups of related paintings are combined to form a single entry. The paintings listed show Buddhist themes, landscapes, portraits and court scenes. Some of the paintings were imported directly from China. The titles of the works are descriptive rather than the artists' titles; therefore it is possible to find alternate names in the literature for a given work.Beginning in the mid-6th century, as Buddhism was brought to Japan from Baekje, religious art was introduced from the mainland. The earliest religious paintings in Japan were copied using mainland styles and techniques, and are similar to the art of the Chinese Sui dynasty (581–618) or the late Sixteen Kingdoms around the early 5th century. They comprise the oldest extant non-primitive paintings in Japan. By the mid-Nara period (ca. 750) Japanese paintings showed influences of the Chinese Tang dynasty (618–907) and in the 9th century early Heian period evolved into the Kara-e genre. Wall murals in the Takamatsuzuka Tomb and the Portrait of Kichijōten at Yakushi-ji exemplify the Kara-e style. Generally, Nara period paintings show religious subjects, and the artists are unknown. During that period, sculptures rather than paintings were more prevalent.Mandalas became predominant in the paintings of the early Heian period as esoteric Buddhism emerged with the Shingon and Tendai sects in the 8th and 9th centuries. The evolution of Pure Land Buddhism caused raigō-zu to be developed as a genre, characterised by depictions of the Amida welcoming the souls of the faithful to his Western Paradise as seen in a 1053 painting in the Phoenix-Hall of Byōdō-in. By the mid-Heian period, Chinese style kara-e painting was replaced with the classical Japanese yamato-e style, in which the images were painted primarily on sliding screens and byōbu folding screens. At the close of the Heian period around 1185, the practice of adorning emakimono hand scrolls with yamato-e paintings flourished. Examples of illustrated hand scrolls include novels such as Genji Monogatari Emaki, historical writings like The Tale of Great Minister Ban, or religious works such as the Scroll of Hungry Ghosts. These genres continued to be produced into the Kamakura period from 1185 to 1333. As during the Nara period, sculpture remained the preferred art form of the period. Influenced by the Chinese Song and Yuan dynasties, Japanese monochrome ink painting called suibokuga largely replaced polychrome scroll paintings. By the end of the 14th century, monochrome landscape paintings (sansuiga) became the preferred genre for Zen painters, evolving to a unique Japanese style from the Chinese origin.
