TYPES OF LEUKEMIA

03:25
Experts divide leukemia into four large groups. These groups are classified as acute vs. chronic and lymphocytic vs. myelogenous 1. Chronic and acute leukemia There are several stages of maturation in a white blood cell's lifespan. Acute leukemia is a rapidly progressing disease that results in the accumulation of immature, useless cells in the marrow and blood. They are squeezed out of the bone marrow too early and are not functional. Chronic progresses more slowly and allows more mature, useful cells to be made. In other words, acute leukemia crowds out the good cells more quickly than chronic leukemia. 2. Lymphocytic and myelogenous leukemia Leukemias are also subdivided into the type of affected blood cell. If the cancerous transformation occurs in the type of marrow that makes lymphocytes, the disease is called lymphocytic leukemia. A lymphocyte is a kind of white blood cell inside the vertebrae immune system. If the cancerous change occurs in the type of marrow cells that go on to produce red blood cells, other types of white cells, and platelets, the disease is called myelogenous leukemia. 3. Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) Also known as acute lymphoblastic leukemia - this is the most common type of leukemia among young children, although adults can get it as well, especially those over the age of 65. The 5-year survival rate is greater than 85 percent among children. The following are subtypes of ALL: precursor B acute lymphoblastic leukemia, precursor T acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Burkitt's leukemia, and acute biphenotypic leukemia. 4. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) This is most common among adults over 55, although younger adults can get it as well. It is the most common type of leukemia in adulthood. CLL hardly ever affects children. The majority of patients with CLL are men, over 60 percent. The 5 year survival rate of treated CLL patients is 82 percent. Experts say CLL is incurable. A more aggressive form of CLL is B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia. 5. Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) AML is more common among adults than children, and affects males significantly more often than females. Patients are treated with chemotherapy. In children diagnosed with AML, the 5-year survival rate is 60-70 percent, though the overall survival rate is 26.6 percent. 6. Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) The vast majority of patients are adults. According to the National Cancer Institute, the 5-year survival rate is 65.1 percent. However, many people with CML have a gene mutation that responds to targeted cancer therapy, called Gleevec. Gleevec (imatinib) is commonly used to treat CML, as well as some other drugs. For those people whose cancer is susceptible to Gleevec, their survival rate can be as high as 90 percent. Chronic monocytic leukemia is a subtype of CML. The worst kind of stress for people with leukemia

03:10
Studies have shown that stress can reduce the immune system's ability to fight disease. That means stress and leukemia are a bad combo. So what is the most dangerous form of stress? I believe it is toxic people. Reducing any stress is good for you whether you have cll leukemia or not. But it is perhaps even more important if you do. This video explains the need to get toxic people out of your life. Toxic people are those who attempt to get you involved in their problems. You can console them and even give advise if they ask, but don't go down their rabbit hole. You can't afford it. CAUSES OF LEUKEMIA

01:43
Some factors put certain people at higher risk of developing leukemia. The following are either known or suspected factors:  artificial ionizing radiation  viruses - HTLV-1 (human T-lymphotropic virus) and HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)  benzene and some petrochemicals  alkylating chemotherapy agents used in previous cancers  maternal fetal transmission (rare)  hair dyes  smoking There are some other causes: 1. Genetic predisposition some studies researching family history and looking at twins have indicated that some people have a higher risk of developing leukemia because of a single gene or multiple genes. 2. Down syndrome people with Down syndrome have a significantly higher risk of developing leukemia, compared with people who do not have Down syndrome. Experts say that because of this, people with certain chromosomal abnormalities may have a higher risk. 3. Electromagnetic energy studies indicate there is not enough evidence to show that ELF magnetic (not electric) fields that exist currently might cause leukemia. The IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) says that studies which indicate there is a risk tend to be biased and unreliable. Leukemia: Five easily overlooked signs you have the condition: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos. Leukemia, or blood cancer, happens when the body’s blood-forming tissues no longer function normally.Symptoms of the condition vary depending on the type of leukaemia the person has. However, there are several common signs and symptoms for diagnosing the condition, says the Mayo Clinic.“Leukemia symptoms are often vague and not specific. You may overlook early leukemia symptoms because they may resemble symptoms of the flu and other common illnesses,” says the Clinic on its website. The exact cause of the condition is not known, but it seems to occur due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Related articles Sixties folk singer Mary Travers loses leukemia battle Leukaemia: Do you know these symptoms According to the Mayo Clinic, based in America, there are several different symptoms which may suggest someone has Leukemia.Fever or chillsThis is feeling much hotter or much colder than usual. It could also cause difficulty sleeping.Frequent or severe infectionsIf you are experiencing infections regularly, and possibly on a much more severe level than usual, this could indicate leukemia. This is because it suggests a problem with your white blood cells, which are part of the body’s immune system for fighting off infection.Losing weight without tryingUnexplained weight loss despite normal consumption can also indicate leukemia. However, on its own it may also suggest diabetes. Early warning signs of cancer you shouldn't ignore Fri, November 10, 2017 Cancer symptoms: Early warning signs of the most common types of cancer. It happens due to problems with red blood cells, although these can continue to function normally for a period of time.“Some forms of chronic leukemia initially produce no early symptoms and can go unnoticed or undiagnosed for years,” says the Clinic.Treatment often involves medication.A study from last year suggested that getting

Gleevec keeps Cancer Patients alive 10 Years More

01:12
A 2001-FDA approved cancer drug, Gleevec, has been hailed as the new wonder drug for adding at least 10 more years to the lives of cancer patients. Also known as imatinib, the drug was developed by Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a targeted drug to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reveals that no additional health risks have been found for the drug nearly 17 years after its introduction into the market. A CML diagnosis amounted to a death sentence CML is a type of leukemia or blood cancer. According to the US National Cancer Institute (NCI), being diagnosed with the condition before the introduction of Gleevec was tantamount to a death sentence. This however is no longer the case since cancer patients now live above 10 years post-treatment with the drug. http://www.itechpost.com/articles/90912/20170310/gleevec-cancer-patients-hope-live-10-more-years-despite-ailments.htm The drug was hailed as a wonder drug for patients with CML, a type of blood cancer that affects about 5,000 in the United States per year. Before the Food and Drug Administration approved the drug, less than one in three patients with CML survived five years after their diagnosis. Now, a new study gives credence to Gleevec being a wonder drug. Findings of the study, which were published in the New England Journal Medicine on Thursday, March 9, revealed that the drug can keep patients alive for 10 years or more. http://www.techtimes.com/articles/200977/20170309/cancer-pill-can-keep-leukemia-patients-alive-for-more-than-10-years.htm

Currently, the United Kingdoms Committee on Toxicology and the WHO conclude that consuming over two apricot kernels per day could lead to fatal health consequences.

I'M DYING BUT I'M STILL GOING TO FIGHT!

I'M DYING BUT I'M STILL GOING TO FIGHT! Please don't pity me, having terminal cancer is a fight, I knew it would be all along! I am going to do an explainer style video tomorrow to show you all what is happening, what has happened to me, it may surprise some of you I am losing my hearing, sight and some other functions. My mum has quit her job to take care of me, things happen fast with cancer some times and you have to be prepared for every eventuality! I can't believe how much support people have given me, the love and it just spurs me on more to live! Always have fun! Always be there for people! PS THAT LEGEND JC Has Leukemia, which sucks! #dontgiveindontgiveup Don't Give In! Don't Give Up! Due to loads of interest you can now pre-order the #dontgiveindontgiveup hoodie and t-shirt now: https://goo.gl/RFUMmW I have a Go Fund Me setup if you would like to support me get research done into this type of cancer (Pleomorphic Sarcomatoid Carcinoma and Primary Cutaneous CarcinoSarcoma) with the hope that we can eventually find the best treatment, as there are very limited / no options left now, I have already started passing on samples, medical files and reports to specialists worldwide. The next step is to get my DNA Sequenced, so as specialist medical researchers can see if we can find the needle in the haystack to treat this. Not everyone can get the same type of treatment, not everyone is able to have chemo, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and the likes. I am one of those with a rare form of cancer that can't be treated by conventional means. There is litterally no research into this type so it's important to me, to document everything and record it all, so that if something can be done and someone spots it, we have that added bonus! https://www.gofundme.com/peeweetoms ------------------------------------------- Need Proof? Philadelphia chromosome: Explained in 5 minutes!!!!!! #Medschooldiscussion

05:01
It was 1959 when two Philadelphia researchers, Dr. Peter Nowell and Dr. David Hungerford, were experimenting with cells from various types of leukemia . Then they noticed a smaller chromosome 22 in the cancer cells of some individuals with CML. Due to unavailability of sophisticated technique at that time, they were unable to tell what happened to the material missing from the small chromosome. Nowell and Hungerford published their research in 1960, describing the abnormality that had was found in 9 out of 10 CML patients they studied.Later on in 1972 another researcher, Dr.Janet Rowley, discovered that the missing piece of chromosome number 22 is attached to the chromosome number 9.That is how the first known chromosomal translocation that is t(9,22) was discovered. Later on this abnormally shortened chromosome22 was named after the city Philadelphia where Dr. Hungerford and Dr. nowell conducted their research . . Thet Philadelphia chromosome is found in the leukemic cells of more than 95% of patients with CML......... Chemotherapy may be given with a curative intent (which almost always involves combinations of drugs), or it may aim to prolong life or to reduce symptoms (palliative chemotherapy). Chemotherapy is one of the major categories of the medical discipline specifically devoted to pharmacotherapy for cancer, which is called medical oncology. The term chemotherapy has come to connote non-specific usage of intracellular poisons to inhibit mitosis, cell division. The connotation excludes more selective agents that block extracellular signals (signal transduction). The development of therapies with specific molecular or genetic targets, which inhibit growth-promoting signals from classic endocrine hormones (primarily estrogens for breast cancer and androgens for prostate cancer) are now called hormonal therapies. By contrast, other inhibitions of growth-signals like those associated with receptor tyrosine kinases are referred to as targeted therapy. Importantly, the use of drugs (whether chemotherapy, hormonal therapy or targeted therapy) constitutes systemic therapy for cancer in that they are introduced into the blood stream and are therefore in principle able to address cancer at any anatomic location in the body. Systemic therapy is often used in conjunction with other modalities that constitute local therapy (i.e. treatments whose efficacy is confined to the anatomic area where they are applied) for cancer such as radiation therapy, surgery or hyperthermia therapy. Traditional chemotherapeutic agents are cytotoxic by means of interfering with cell division (mitosis) but cancer cells vary widely in their susceptibility to these agents. To a large extent, chemotherapy can be thought of as a way to damage or stress cells, which may then lead to cell death if apoptosis is initiated. Many of the side effects of chemotherapy can be traced to damage to normal cells that divide rapidly ...

Blood cancer: SEVEN warning signs of the deadly disease

04:17
Blood cancer is an umbrella term for cancers that affect the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic system. It is the fifth largest group of cancers in the UK, and includes leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.Because there are more than 130 different types of blood cancer, the statistics are usually presented individually and the overall impact of the disease is often downplayed.Overall, blood cancer is the third largest cause of cancer death, with one person diagnosed with the disease every 14 minutes in the UK.Blood cancer can occur if you don’t have the right balance of different types of blood cells, explains the blood cancer charity Bloodwise. You might have too many of one type of cell or not enough of another. They may stop working altogether or they may grow out of control. Related articles Itchy skin could be a symptom of this killer disease Leukaemia symptoms - signs of aggressive blood cancer Of the three main type of blood cancer, leukaemia affects the white blood cells, which are an important part of the immune system and help fight infection.Lymphoma occurs when something goes wrong with white blood cells called lymphocytes, which are found in the blood, bone marrow and lymph glands.Myeloma, the next most common type, is when plasma cells in bone marrow, which help fight infection, become damaged.Symptoms can be vague, which can make early diagnosis difficult. Here are seven common signs of blood cancer to be aware of.Extreme tirednessOne symptom of blood cancer is anaemia, which can present itself as persistent fatigue. It may also cause breathless (even when you’re resting), paleness, chest pain and dizziness, says Bloodwise. I used to have perfect teeth but over the years being in the military, getting vaccinated my system has definitely been compromised. I used to grind my teeth years ago and have also been in car accidents when I was younger which shifted my jaw etc. I go to the chiropractor all the time, juice nothing but organic, detox all the time far infrared, take trace element minerals etc., etc. I used to get sick quite often due to where I work at but have been taking Bitters and fulvic acid and quite a few other things to curb this. This has definitely corrected many symptoms but I do feel I need to be on the fruitarian diet while taking herbs etc.... 26:00 - 32:45 Hi Ailin! As Always, I Love your vid! Thank you for sharing your immense knowledge by making them! A quick clarification for my learning please... if our vitamin B-12 in made in our colon, (which is downstream from our small intestines where the absorption of most nutrients occur), how can we utilize it? Ty 💖 32:54 - 36:40 How would you recommend detoxing children? My kids eyes were blue until into their 2nd years, and now both are green. I would like to try to detox them without making them sick. How to Detox Children: https://www.spiritrawpicalhealing.com/single-post/2018/06/22/How-To-Detox-Children 36:42 - 39:45 Hi Ailin! I have suffered from excessive blushing my whole life. I start feeling hot flashes on my face and sometimes I can feel my heart pumping in my head. It is really embarrassing. What might cause this and will I be able to get rid of this with detox? Thanks! Youtube video mentioned - Extreme Head Pressure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YooMjG6o60k&t=944s 40:31 - 44:23 Could you talk about best detox/healing protocols for the neurological system? I am healing from neurological fatigue (heavy head, brain fog, depersonalization, fatigue) and would love your thoughts. Also would love your thoughts generally on symptoms that flare unexpectedly (ie randomly or ever 5 weeks not around period) or even flare after things like acupuncture or sauna. Can’t wait to watch the next video, whatever it ends up being about :) thanks! 44:45 - 53:22 Can you help me please. I read you're story and it's very similar to mine. I have cll a type of leukemia and I have been feeling horrible for almost for months.all kinds of symtoms.looked for help in alot of places and nothing helps. I eat well I exercise and don't know what's going on. I no longer have a normal. Please help me I think about dying alot.write back 53:31 - 59:51 Would you ever suggest for someone to take GI Broom twice a day if they were eager to dig deep into their detox? (I'm currently eating all fruit! No bananas, dates, or fruits that will slow the detox. Only high water fruits!) Also, this might be a silly question, but I was wondering, why is it that mucoid plaque is not seen in colonoscopies? I believe that mucoid plaque exists, but I've always wondered why it could not be seen in a colonoscopy? Thank you so much! Hi!
