In this video, I’m going to share five insanely simple ideas about how to increase sales. Check it out: 1. Toss out the features and benefits. Your prospects are sick of hearing all about your products and services. Instead, simply focus on the results you achieve, as this is what your prospects actually care about. 2. Ask for one referral each day. Now I know that may sound like a lot of work, but realistically it’s no more than 10 minutes of work each day. Plus, there is no easier way to grow your sales. Just think about the math: Asking for one referral or introduction each day means five per week; that’s 250 introduction-asks per year! 3. Host a private client event. People love to come to exclusive events. Invite both your top clients and some of your top prospects. You’ll see that your top prospects will actually end up doing your selling for you. 4. Create client case studies. There’s nothing—and I mean nothing—more compelling to a prospect than an example of your past success. Develop case studies that focus on results you’ve created with your clients—not so much on the deliverables, but on what you actually accomplished. 5. Use a proposal with three options. Stop proposing just one option. This is the reason that you’re getting shopped around on price and limiting the possible size of a sale. Your prospects want options, so use proposals with three of them, ranging from a low-end, least expensive option, all the way up to the premium option with massive added value. By doing this, you’ll give your prospects the perspective to see what’s out there, and you’ll also give them the opportunity to choose the highest-end option with the most value—and that means the biggest sale for you. People go to your shopping cart and they want to check out. But as you've noticed, some people abandon their cart for whatever reason. This happens in shopify and other cart ecommerce services. In today's video I share with you how to recover potential customers who are abandoning your cart. The first thing you want to do is have a two-step checkout process. What I mean by two-step checkout process is, you first ask for their name and email, or you ask them to "sign up". And then the second step would be the checkout page where they put in the credit card details and the shipping address. This way, if someone abandons the cart on the second step, you can then email them and try to get them to reengage and finish the transaction. The second thing you wanna do is remarketing. So when someone goes, they add stuff to your cart. They go, they try to check out, but they don't buy. You can re-market them. So when they're browsing the web, they continually see products and services from your website. And then when they go back to your website, you want to take them back to the cart. That way they can finish the transaction. The third thing you wanna do is continually optimize your checkout page. Sure, people are gonna abandon their cart, but if you can optimize it to maximize the conversion rate less people are gonna abandon. You can use crazyegg for this. Crazyegg will show you which fields are causing the drop-off rate. Because through the heatmap feature, it'll show you where they're clicking and where they're not. Or where they're leaving. The other thing you can do with crazyegg, you can see how far people are scrolling down, and as you're making your changes to your cart page, which you can funny enough do within crazyegg, 'cause there's a WYSIWYG feature, you can also run a/v test to make sure that your changes are improving your conversions, versus making changes on a gut feel, which could be hurting you. Following those three things, and you're gonna get more people to finish their cart, and you're gonna end up making more money. It's that simple.

I can’t tell you how many managers and business leaders come to me and say, "I need you to train my salespeople because they're doing a terrible job." Now, that may sound logical to some people at first. But it's completely illogical when you really think about it. The reality is, there are probably some people on that team who shouldn't even be there. And so, before we ever get into sales training, we want to first assess the existing sales organization. Sales Management Training Tip #2: Use a process for identifying superior talent. You may not be actively involved in the sales hiring process at your organization. But if you're a manager or even the CEO of a good sized organization, you need to make sure that the process for hiring talent is going to yield superior performers. That means having a systematic process for hiring with multiple steps that force potential sales hires to demonstrate their selling ability. This is something I implement with my clients all the time, because we need to ensure the people we're hiring are going to be the right fit. Sales Management Training Tip #3: Know the strategic math to grow your sales. Every manager, CEO, and sales leader must understand the exact math that goes into increasing sales. There are only three ways to actually increase sales. Sales Management Training Tip #4: Implement leveraged prospecting. So many CEOs and sales leaders come to me and say, “I want our salespeople to be making more cold calls." My first response is always, "Well, help me understand. Is cold calling the most effective use of their time?" Now, in some cases, it can be — but very rarely. Sales Management Training Tip #5: Have a structured sales process. This is a tough one. Many organizations are all over the place when it comes to sales process, so at the end of the day, they just end up letting their salespeople do whatever they want. Sales Management Training Tip #6: Track discovery meetings closely. Managers, CEOs, CSOs, and VPs of sales always ask me, "Marc, what is the most important KPI or what's the most important metric that we can be tracking of our salespeople?" There is no one right answer to that question, but if I were to generalize one answer that is accurate for most organizations, it would be the number of discovery meetings that salespeople are setting. Discovery meetings are those initial sales meetings that are in the calendar for that first introduction. Sales Management Training Tip #7: Let your CRM do the heavy lifting. I always ask managers, owners, and CEOs the same question: "Do you know exactly what your salespeople are doing on a day-to-day basis?" What's amazing is that they often can’t answer that question in the affirmative. Sales Management Training Tip #8: Run a structured sales meeting. Have you ever been in a meeting that was just completely unstructured? Suddenly, you look at your watch, and it's been 90 minutes. You've accomplished exactly nothing. Well, this may be the experience that your salespeople have when they sit in on your sales meetings. Sales Management Training Tip #9: Coach with intention. Coaching is one of those things that most managers know they need to be doing more of it. Yet, they don't do much of it at all. It tends to be very reactive. As managers, when we coach with intention, it means that we have a systematic process to coaching people. Whether you're the CEO managing the VP level, or you're the VP managing your managers, or you're the manager managing your salespeople, or you're the business owner managing your own salespeople, you need to be coaching with intention. What you should focus on if you plan to use Facebook strategically to market your event: Use Facebook ads. Google Facebook remarketing. Get that pixel on your site and pay less for immediate marketing opportunities with those that already visited your site. Be more precise with remarketing. Get a special tag on your check out page for abandoned registration and send targeted messages to get them to finish registration, a discount will incentivize. Use video in your ads. Tactic #3 - Email Marketing 65% of eventprofs say that email marketing is the most effective tool for promoting events. Get your email marketing right: Review your data and previous campaigns. What worked? Where did you get most clicks? Create an email sequence of attentively crafted promotion emails. Use the AIDA process of sales. Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Tactic #5 - Event Experience 60% of event planners say that the demand for experiences is increasing. How can you elevate your event to a 360-degree experience? Introduce elements of adventure. Are you engaging attendees to the next level, are you getting them to participate in special activities, tours, scavenger hunts, city activities. Tip #1: Focus on one product. You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well. I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles. She has one product, and that's it. Do you know how much she makes? Well into the seven figures per year. You don't need a lot of products to do well. If you're on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that'll help make it, so you don't have to worry about the logistics. If you're only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point. #2: Upsell and downsell. It's easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you. If you're selling insoles that make women's shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one. That's an easy upsell. Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities. #3: Advertise. Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing. Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you're not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I'll answer you, and I'll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign. #4: Leverage subscriptions. Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you're selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup? If you're using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription. #5: Recover abandoned shoppers. In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned. So, you need to make them come back and buy. How do you do that? Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails. When someone's buying from you, you're probably collecting their name and email first before you're showing the credit card information. You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving? Put in your name and email and I'll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon. #6: Optimize your checkout process. Baymard did a study on checkout pages. They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that's not million, that's billion with a B, extra dollars. Don't forget to optimize your checkout process. The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields. Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times? That's unnecessary. Keep it simple. The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step. #7: Leverage a referral program. If someone's buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution. Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy. You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys. The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral. Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales. Leave a comment below and say, hey, here's my e-commerce store. I'll respond telling you which one you should do first, second, et cetera, so that way, you're doing the ones first that are gonna create the biggest ROI. It's persuasive copy. No, I'm not talking about a tool or anything like that. It really is copy. Just think of it this way, someone lands on your site, whether you do ads or SEO or email marketing, they check out this product that you're selling, but then, they don't see much. They just see a few sentences, maybe a picture. You think they're going to buy? No, that's why over 95, 98, 99% of your visitors don't convert. And it's why you're creating eCommerce products, putting them on your store and you're like, huh, why am I not getting any sales? It's because of the copy. You're not interacting with the person. When you go to a physical store, you're interacting potentially with a salesperson. That salesperson guides you, they help you, they, oh, you need this size to try on for this shirt? Oh, this looks good, oh no, that doesn't look good, you shouldn't get that, but instead, you should get this. You don't have that on the web. So, what do you have to do to convince people to buy? You need persuasive copy. So now that you know that it's persuasive copy, let's go over a few things that you can do to make sure that your copy is truly persuasive. One, talk about the benefit. It's not just about hey, I'm selling this product, it's about the solution that, that product is giving people to their problems. For example, if you're selling toilet paper, and toilet paper, the one that you're selling is so soft people don't have a rough bum from that, your solution is ultra-soft toilet paper. It'll make you feel like your bum is sitting on clouds. I'm making it up. And if your reviews on that page enforce that, you're going to get more sales, right? So, you have to talk about the solution and the benefit that your solution is providing. The second tip I have for you, persuasive copy isn't just copy. A picture says a thousand words. So, if your pictures are amazing in your eCommerce product, you'll do really well. Taking professional pictures, 360 degree view cameras, showcasing your products, all this stuff will help boost sales and conversions. The third thing, reviews. The copy isn't just about how much can you convince people to buy your product, it's also how much can other people convince others to buy your product. You need a lot of reviews on your site. Whether they're bad reviews or good reviews, let them all through because they'll help tell other people if they should be buying your product. And the fourth tip when it comes to persuasive copy, you need to make sure you go really in-depth on every little thing that your product provides. Every feature, every nook and cranny of it. Think about any objections someone has when it comes to buying your product. If you answer all those objections in the copy, you'll get more sales. And the last tip I have for you, your copy doesn't end on your product page. From your checkout page to the thank you page, all of that's copy. If you can optimize your checkout page and be like get this delivered to you within two days, emphasizing free shipping, things like that can help boost your sales. Using a two-step checkout instead of a one-step checkout, that of course, helps boost sales as well. Doing things like on your thank you page after they checkout, upselling more products and services, that of course, boosts sales. Today we're going to talk about one of my restaurant marketing ideas, or dare I say one of my most important and valuable restaurant marketing idea, which will ultimately lead to doubling your profit. See I get phone calls and e-mails all the time from people that want to know how they can double their business. What they really mean by 'doubling their business' is they want to double their profits. The difference really is, when you say you want to double your business, you're talking about adding more marketing, adding more labor and adding more expenses, which will hopefully lead to more profits. I'm going to share with you a 3 step process that won't cost you any money in marketing, in advertising, in added labor and really, not much more extra time. What that's going to do is allow any new revenue to go right to the bottom line, with out any added expenses! And that's why this formula is so simple to not only execute, but to understand! Step 1 to doubling your restaurant or pretty much any food and beverage establishment's profits: 10% more customers. That means if you're serving an average of 100 customers a day, you simply need to bump that up to a 110 customers a day. I want to share with you my best tip for getting more customers in your restaurant without spending any money and that's called Online Review Engagement. A lot of us are engaging currently online with our customers but we're not doing it correctly, in the native way, that they want to be heard and listened to, depending on what platform you're working on. The way we talk to customers is very different on Twitter to Facebook to Yelp to Vine to Instagram or any of the social media platforms out there. If you are not certain that you are engaging with your customers 100% accurately, in the way they want to be engaged with online, then send me an e-mail and just tell me the name of your business and city that you are located in, so I can do a quick little search of your social media. Then we'll get on the phone for a half hour or so. I want to share with you some of the things you're doing right and maybe some areas for improvement. This is so important, this is game changing, this is real life changing stuff when you figure out how to properly engage with your customers online, especially with reviews.
