15 Recent Science Discoveries You Wont Believe

08:39
15 amazing recent discoveries in the world of science and here they are from bionic contact lenses to reanimating dinosaur dna! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 7. New Human Species Biologists all over the world were intrigued upon hearing the 2015 discovery of a new species of human, Homo Naledi, allowing for an ever clearer picture of our ancient ancestry. The findings were unveiled deep in an underground cave in South Africa and is considered one of the greatest collection of human remains ever unearthed. So far, it is known that this species of human grew to an average height of 5 feet and had a brain no larger than an orange. The way the bones in the South African cave were arranged suggests that these human ancestors ritualistically buried their dead, giving scientists a glimpse into our cultural past. 6. Bionic Lens While still in the testing stage, the founder of Ocumetics Technology Corp may have stumbled upon a revolutionary technology that could augment the way humans perceive the world. A new bionic contact lens will give wearers an ability to see the world with stronger than 20/20 vision. Some subjects, who have already tried the lens themselves, claim that they not only see better than ever before but have identified a unique spectrum of colors unfamiliar to the unaided eye. Is this perhaps the first step in the direction of a new era of superhumans? 5. Harder Than Diamond Scientists may have recently discovered a substance harder than diamond, Q-carbon. What gives diamonds their excellent hardness are the chemical bonds that hold them together. The carbon in diamonds is held together by incredibly tight chemical bonds at the microscopic level, giving diamonds their prominent hardness. By the manipulation of carbon atoms, scientists were able to augment their chemical bonds, producing a material that is potentially 60 times harder than diamond. While this substance is still being experimented on, it is a potential prospect for the future of cheap, efficient technologies. 4. First Mammals Researchers from the University of Edinburgh have discovered an ancient species of mammals that survived the notorious extinction of the dinosaurs over 65 million years ago. The reason this find is so significant is that it gives us a glimpse at how mammals began to rule the world previously dominated by their cold-blooded counterparts. The mammal is thought to have been a plant-eater closely resembling a modern beaver. Once the dinosaurs were eliminated these beaver-like creatures began to flourish, given that they were no longer victims of dinosaur predators. Because these little guys were able to withstand the destruction that wrecked havoc on the dinosaurs, an array of mammals, including our ancestors, were finally able to leave their mark on the world. 3. Whale Gene Mapping Gene mapping is starting to look less like a theoretical nicety and more like an applied science with this new aquatic discovery. Scientists have finally discovered why Bowhead Whales are able to live to 200 years old by remapping their entire genome. By comparing the genome of Bowhead Whales with the genome of other mammals with a less impressive lifespan, scientists were able to point out marked differences. Bowhead longevity is due to its genes’ effectiveness in repairing gene deterioration, which is the cause of cancer and other ailments known to cut human life short. By further studying this animal’s genes, scientists may finally be able to restore our own faulty genetic system, substantially lengthening our lives. 2. Second Earth NASA has recently confirmed their discovery of a possible second Earth. Kepler-452b orbits its sun in what scientists call the “Goldilocks Zone,” which is the habitable region in space, not too far or close to the sun, necessary for the possibility of life to flourish. The new planet appears to have a rocky surface as well as liquid water, which is another key ingredient for life to subsist. Although not much is known about if there is life beyond Earth, it makes sense to take notice of planets similar to our own. 1. Animal Re-animation Scientists have always been intrigued by the prospect of re-animating creatures that have been extinct for many years. While bringing a dinosaur back to life would be kind of cool, bringing a Wooly Mammoth back to life would be just as cool, and that is just what scientists are trying to do. Because Wooly Mammoths and Saber-Toothed Tigers have only been extinct for tens of thousands of years, unlike the millions of years dinosaurs have been extinct, intact DNA samples are much easier to find. Scientists believe it is possible to recreate these extinct beasts by cloning them with DNA and tissue samples, which have been found, over the years, preserved in ice.

Quantum Physics Explained

25:34
Quantum mechanics is the branch of physics relating to the very small. It results in what may appear to be some very strange conclusions about the physical world. At the scale of atoms and electrons, many of the equations of classical mechanics, which describe how things move at everyday sizes and speeds, cease to be useful. In classical mechanics, objects exist in a specific place at a specific time. However, in quantum mechanics, objects instead exist in a haze of probability; they have a certain chance of being at point A, another chance of being at point B and so on. Three revolutionary principles Quantum mechanics (QM) developed over many decades, beginning as a set of controversial mathematical explanations of experiments that the math of classical mechanics could not explain. It began at the turn of the 20th century, around the same time that Albert Einstein published his theory of relativity, a separate mathematical revolution in physics that describes the motion of things at high speeds. Unlike relativity, however, the origins of QM cannot be attributed to any one scientist. Rather, multiple scientists contributed to a foundation of three revolutionary principles that gradually gained acceptance and experimental verification between 1900 and 1930. They are: Quantized properties: Certain properties, such as position, speed and color, can sometimes only occur in specific, set amounts, much like a dial that "clicks" from number to number. This challenged a fundamental assumption of classical mechanics, which said that such properties should exist on a smooth, continuous spectrum. To describe the idea that some properties "clicked" like a dial with specific settings, scientists coined the word "quantized." Particles of light: Light can sometimes behave as a particle. This was initially met with harsh criticism, as it ran contrary to 200 years of experiments showing that light behaved as a wave; much like ripples on the surface of a calm lake. Light behaves similarly in that it bounces off walls and bends around corners, and that the crests and troughs of the wave can add up or cancel out. Added wave crests result in brighter light, while waves that cancel out produce darkness. A light source can be thought of as a ball on a stick being rhythmically dipped in the center of a lake. The color emitted corresponds to the distance between the crests, which is determined by the speed of the ball's rhythm. Waves of matter: Matter can also behave as a wave. This ran counter to the roughly 30 years of experiments showing that matter (such as electrons) exists as particles. The Nature of Physics | Full Interview | Dr Chiara Marletto

From Constructor Theory to Richard Feynman, Quantum Physicist Chiara Marletto outlines how physics addresses and questions the world around us. ** Subscribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/IAITV ** Listen to our weekly podcast: https://soundcloud.com/instituteofartandideas ** Donate to the Institute of Art and Ideas: https://iai.tv/support-the-iai/donate Chiara Marletto's argument: - Observers are not subjective entities when described properly. - Physics has no place for a subjective notion of the observer or differing laws for observers. - It is suggested that the observation of quantum effects stop them applying in some way - this is not the case (e.g. viruses). - The QBist postulation of an subjective observer is unnecessary. - We can make sense of the world in terms of universe laws – it is not necessary to have the observer behave according to different laws. - Observers can be classified in terms of information theory. - Constructor theory might unify information theory, thermodynamics, and reduce apparent quantum effects. 10 Mind Blowing Optical Illusions

03:59
Amazing Optical illusions that will tease your brain Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Flat 3rd Dimension and Following eyes video by Brusspup Includes footage produced by the Royal Institution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOeo8zMBfTA Description: One of the most fascinating organs in our body is the human brain. You could say that it is central control, or headquarters for our body. Without our brain, we are not alive. The brain is where our consciousness lives and our memories are preserved. If we are considered “brain dead”, then the plug gets pulled on our life support. It is a complex organ of fatty tissue, and the brain helps us process different kinds of information through our five sense. Using our nose, the brain can tell us whether we are experiencing a pleasant smell or something foul. With our ears, the brain can help us process the noises we are hearing and be able to tell the difference from language to noises. With our mouth, the brain helps us figure out whether the food we are eating is good for us and not poisonous. Finally, with our eyes, the brain helps us process the information we are seeing visually. Our brain and our eyes have a beautiful relationship by letting us see colors, nature, people, and more, along with associate these visions with emotions. With such wondrous capabilities, it can be easy to just assume and trust that what our eyes are telling us is true. Well, not exactly. In the last several centuries, optical illusions have been playing tricks with our brain and causing us to question what is real and what is fiction. Optical illusions can be created by Mother Nature, or they can be manmade, thus creating an entire art dedication to optical illusions and messing with our brain and everything that we know about the world around us. With the innovation and evolution of optical illusions, we are now getting confused more often than ever before! People have even dedicated their lives and support themselves from creating their own optical illusions. These artists even get a kick from us stepping on their painting and thinking that we are about to descend into a multiple story fall, but instead, our foot remains on solid ground. This video has ten of the most mind blowing optical illusions. They are so crazy that you would think that they were simply a trick of the camera or computer. What makes these optical illusions extra special is the fact that they play with your perception using colors, angles, light, shapes, sizes, and more. Our eyes have been conditioned and groomed to see certain things by the way the light hits an object, or by the way and angle is seen by our eyes. Reality can be manipulated so many ways by a simple tilt of the head or a beam of light, or a splash of color. By breaking down why you are seeing the optical illusion in the first place, we can start descending upon the bridge of understanding. Probably one of the most unsettling things about optical illusions is that the seed of doubt can bleed over to our normal everyday lives and cause us to question everything by just looking outside. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring: FLAT 3RD DIMENSION FOLLOWING EYES BACKWARDS CHAIR DROP OFF ROOM ANIMATION ILLUSION THE AMES ROOM MOTION ILLUSIONS CIRCLE ILLUSION YES-NO THE DRESS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music Track: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

Sometimes it seems that you’ve seen so much in this life that nothing will be able to surprise you ever again. And then you accidentally overheard someone mentions something amazing, like the fact that snails have 14,000 teeth. Yes, you’ve heard right – snails! Did you know, for example, that honey never goes off, an octopus has three hearts, and on Saturn and Jupiter, rain is made from diamonds? Oh, the world is such an amazing place! And we picked out a few more curious facts for you – here are 25 Strange but True Facts That Will Shock You. What role play wrinkles that appear on the skin of your hands 5:32 #24. What philtrum is 5:53 #25. Why people have round buttocks 6:11 #interestingfacts #amazingfacts SUMMARY: - The human nose can remember 50,000 different scents. Also, human ears can differentiate millions of sound, and our eyes can discriminate about thousands of colors. I've never thought about this! - Yet the throat of a blue whale is no bigger than a saucer. Therefore, it can’t swallow anything wider than a beach ball. - An octopus has three hearts. Two of them move blood beyond its gills, while the third one keeps circulation flowing for the body organs. Three hearts – what a lucky guy! - Originally, Feng shui was the art of choosing an appropriate place for a grave. That’s right – funerals ceremonies and rituals are generally taken very seriously in Chinese culture. - Now, look at this amazing picture! This what the sky would look like if Jupiter was the same distance from the Earth as the Moon. Just wow! - How many glasses of water do you drink per day? Three? Four? Here is a surprising fact: the likelihood that the glass of water you’re drinking contains a molecule of water that once passed through a dinosaur is about 100%. - Catfish have 27,000 taste buds. And this is four times more than what human beings have – we have only 7,000 of them. - Now, what do you think this is? Any idea? This is actually what sand looks like under a microscope. - Oxford University is older than the Aztec Empire. Oxford University was found in 1096, and in the Aztec civilization – in 1325. This means that Oxford University is at least 200 years older than the Aztec Empire. - In Cyprus, Santa Claus is called Basil. He is also called Saint Basil the Great. - Round buttocks were determined by the evolution process. The main occupation of our ancestors was hunting and in order to catch the prey or at least to run fast well-built buttocks were a great thing for such a task. Tom Campbell: Physics Experiments and Discoveries Outside of Physics

01:11:31
”With the advent of the information age, humanity now has its first opportunity to take a big step into a new paradigm based on caring and cooperation.” Tom states, "This is a virtual reality." “The concept of virtual reality is simple. What makes it ‘hard’ is that it is so contrary to current mainstream beliefs.” Tom’s My Big TOE derived a basic understanding of the “whys” in physics: In Relativity; why is the speed of light a constant? In quantum mechanics; why should particles best be described as probability distributions? Tom will be offering 12 physics experiments (variations of the Double Slit Experiment), some of which he predicts will verify many of his virtual reality concepts and clarify the way our virtual reality is implemented. The experiments are geared to show that virtual reality logically explains the “whys” of quantum mechanics – no more non-intuitive “weird science”. An Interesting aspect to this interview are the scientists mentioned from disciplines other than physics who, through their understanding of quantum mechanics, have come to the same conclusions as Tom’s My Big TOE (theory of everything). Tom discusses here how the materialists might move forward in this new paradigm with their current research, thus opening up new opportunities. Consciousness Creates Reality - Quantum Physics Explains

Consciousness Creates Reality - Quantum Physics Explains READ FULL ARTICLE HERE - http://369news.net/2018/05/22/consciousness-creates-reality-quantum-physics-explains/ Have you ever seen yourself through the eyes of someone else that you have become, and looked at yourself through the eyes of the ultimate observer? Who are we? Where do we come from? And what is our purpose in life? In a world full of endless possibilities, why do we keep creating the same realities? Isn’t it amazing that we have so many options and potentials that exist and yet we are unaware of them? Is it possible that we are so conditioned to our daily routines and the way we create our lives, that we buy the idea that we have no control at all? We have been conditioned to believe that the external world is more real the internal world. This new way at looking at science is just the opposite. It says what’s happing within us will create what’s happening outside of us. “Consciousness creates reality.” This statement has changed the scientific and medical landscape, and alternative media outlets around the world. Countless scientists study this idea and how it might be correlated with the nature of our reality. It raises the question, what is consciousness? Consciousness includes a number of things. It’s how we perceive our world, it’s our thoughts and intentions, it’s being aware, and so much more. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project The notion that “consciousness creates reality” raises so many questions. Does this mean we as individuals (and on a collective level, as one human race) can shape and create whatever reality we’d like for ourselves? Does it mean we can manifest a certain lifestyle, and attract certain experiences? website for universal truth - http://www.369universe.com http://369news.net If you wish to make a small Donation click on the link below: Thank you 🙏💗 PayPal Donation Link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=6QHHNJVALEQDN

What is Friction in Physics? - Science for Kids | Educational Videos by Mocomi

02:22
What is Friction - Physics for kids Friction keeps us from slipping and falling everywhere. It is the resistance formed between 2 surfaces in contact. Have you seen someone slip and fall off a chair? Did it make you laugh? Imagine if we were constantly slipping of chairs and beds and stairs… life wouldn’t be very fun, would it? Thanks to friction this does not happen. Everything would just keep slipping and falling all over the place if it wasn’t for friction. Friction is a force that is created when two surfaces move or try to move across each other. The amount of friction produced during this process depends on the texture of both the surfaces and the amount of contact force pushing the two surfaces together. Friction always opposes the motion or attempted motion of one surface across another surface. As the two surfaces slide against each other, their contact is anything but smooth. They both grind and drag against each other, producing friction. You will find friction everywhere that objects come into contact with each other. The force acts in the opposite direction to the way an object wants to slide. When you want to stop your bicycle, you press the brake and your bicycle slows down because of the friction between the brakes and the wheels. If you are running on a playground and hear your friend call you and suddenly want to stop, you can, because of the friction between your shoes and the ground. Watch this interesting video to learn what is friction. Quantum physics, Consciousness and God !

04:17
Read my article here: http://kn-ow.com/article/quantum-physics-and-god-100/ Being one of the most groundbreaking achievements of the 20th Century, so much so that 1/3rd of our economy runs on it, Quantum Mechanics has such counter intuitive and controversial ramifications about the nature of the universe, that even after 100 years of its inception, this theory still remains an enigma for science. For the present discussion, we will just concentrate on only one of its many mind boggling results. Quantum theory brought something so immaterial as "consciousness" into the realm of physics. Consciousness has remained for centuries a topic of discussion in philosophy, spirituality and theology. Modern science has come a long way, gallantly fighting its many battles, freeing itself from the shackles of religious dogma, to find itself back to square one- Consciousness- the domain of spirituality. Interesting it would be to note, that this enigma of consciousness didn't pop out of neuroscience or any other branch of life sciences. No! Rather from the foundation of all sciences- Physics. So all of the study of the natural world is summed up in Biology, which in turn rests on Chemistry, as all biological processes are reduced to chemical reactions and then the study of chemical reactions neccessitates the study of atoms, electrons and so on. This is Quantum Physics- the science of the basic building blocks of the universe. So you see 'consciousness' has appeared as an inexplicable enigma from the foundation of the universe and its study. Something so immaterial, subjective, human and life-like like 'consciousness' somehow affects the quantum world- the lifeless, material building blocks of the entire universe. So how does this all prove the existence of God? Read my article above !

SIMPLE WATER TRICKS TO DO AT HOME Science could be very fun! We prepared tricks that you can show your friends during the party. Here is a collection of water tricks that will totally amaze your guests! You can do all the tricks only using the thing you already have at home! Let’s start! Pour water into a plastic bottle. Cover the glass with a wet cloth and fix with a rubber band. Flip the bottle and the water won't pour out. The secret of this trick is water surface tension. The next experiment is a cool experiment for kids! Take a piece of foil and draw a small spider with a marker. Pour water on the spider, take a straw and blow on a spider. Draw another spider and start racing! They are moving! To perform the next trick, you will need two identical glasses, food coloring, water, oil spirit, soap and a thin piece of plastic. Pour oil spirit and food coloring in the first glass and water and water, soap and food coloring in the second one. Place a plastic card on the second glass and push a bit. Flip the glass and immediately place over the first glass. Watch the magic! Another cool experiment we want to share is really jaw-dropping! Pour water into a clear cup and heat in microwave for 8 minutes. Now put a pencil into the water. Yes, the water is boiling! You can also put knife or sugar in the water to perform this trick. Did Quantum Physics come from the Vedas?

14:09
Did Quantum Physics come from the Vedas? The convergence of Spirituality and Science Quantum physics explains the nature and behaviour of matter and energy on the atomic and subatomic level, and began with a number of different scientific discoveries from the the 1838 discovery of cathode rays, to the quantum hypothesis and photoelectric effect. The term quantum mechanics was coined in the early 1920’s by a group of physicists at the University of Gottingen... Revolutionary Implications of QUANTUM PHYSICS

09:05
Quantum Physics has given a lot of amazing things to humanity in the last few decades. From the technology with which you can track cheating spouses, to accurately scanning broken bones and muscles in the hospital, there are actually many practical applications of Quantum Physics. But if you believe the words of those nerdy scientists who are actually studying the discipline, many more revolutionary discoveries are yet to come (and that doesn’t just include more weird sci-fi movies). →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! History of physics | Wikipedia audio article

01:17:27
This is an audio version of the Wikipedia Article: History of physics Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. You can find other Wikipedia audio articles too at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuKfABj2eGyjH3ntPxp4YeQ You can upload your own Wikipedia articles through: https://github.com/nodef/wikipedia-tts "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates SUMMARY ======= Physics (from the Ancient Greek φύσις physis meaning "nature") is the fundamental branch of science. The primary objects of study are matter and energy. Physics is, in one sense, the oldest and most basic academic pursuit; its discoveries find applications throughout the natural sciences, since matter and energy are the basic constituents of the natural world. The other sciences are generally more limited in their scope and may be considered branches that have split off from physics to become sciences in their own right. Physics today may be divided loosely into classical physics and modern physics.

The Supercollider That Never Was: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-supercollider-that-never-was/ “If all had gone according to plan, the gargantuan U.S. high-energy physics project would have already found the Higgs particle, having solidly won the competition with its European competitor." What's God got to do with it?, asks Nobel Prize in Physics winner

07:30
Following the discovery of the Higgs boson, this year's Nobel prize for physics - as expected -... euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe Subscribe for your daily dose of international news, curated and explained:http://eurone.ws/10ZCK4a Euronews is available in 13 other languages: http://eurone.ws/17moBCU http://www.euronews.com/2013/12/09/what-s-god-got-to-do-with-it-asks-nobel-prize-in-physics-winner Following the discovery of the Higgs boson, this year's Nobel prize for physics - as expected - went to the two men who first came up with the theory half a century ago: François Englert of Belgium and Britain's Peter Higgs. Euronews met Englert to ask him about this long-awaited recognition, the future of physics and God. Lise Pedersen, euronews: "Professor, what does it feel like to see your name come up next to those of Albert Einstein and Pierre and Marie Curie?" François Englert: "Modest, first of all, because I'm nowhere near Einstein's intelligence and understanding. He is one of the two or three people who have changed the world's comprehension in a way which no one, in my opinion, has equalled, and certainly not me. That said, evidently it is rather nice to receive this recognition." euronews: "You've received numerous prizes, the biggest being the Nobel. Shouldn't the Large Hadron Collider have been the third laureate?" Englert: "I'm not part of the prize committee, so it's not for me to discuss the underpinning of what the Nobel Prize decision-makers do. Clearly, the committee chose to reward the discovery of the theory; right or wrong is not up to me to say." euronews: "Would you say that thanks to the particle accelerator tool Europe has the means to be a world leader in scientific research, ahead of the United States?" Englert: "It's obvious, at least in experimental research development for particle physics. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's true generally, but here, it's clear that CERN today is unsurpassed anywhere in the world, it's truly the nec plus ultra now, in experimental research into elementary particles." euronews: "The Higgs boson has been described as the most important scientific discovery in the last 50 years. Now that the missing piece of the Standard Model puzzle has been found, what are the major challenges facing scientific researchers in the coming years?" Englert: "There might be an even bigger problem, because it calls into question fundamental developments that physics has to achieve if it wants to deepen knowledge further as regards to looking into the scientific intelligibility of the universe - what we call dark energy. That's not the same thing as dark matter. It's a field that envelops the whole universe and which stretches out with it. This thing, of course, has phenomenological explanations that Einstein already found, but deeper comprehension probably calls for knowing the effects of quantum mechanics, or, more precisely, the relationship between quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity, which is the theory of the gravitation of bodies. All things together, it's not very important to what surrounds us; the quantum effects of gravitation are negligible, but they play a fundamental role in the emergence of the universe from I don't know what - and that's what we have to find." euronews: "Without quantum physics there wouldn't be any science fiction, there wouldn't be Star Trek. If you hadn't been daring enough to publish this article 50 years ago, there might not have been a theory to prove. How much imagination and creativity is there in what you do?" Englert: "I think there really is creativity, and I'd say, basically, that what you need is new ideas, and that if we want to come up with ideas it requires what we call in a rather banal way 'intuition'. But intuition is about things that come from experiments that have been put into the world of the unconscious or the subconscious, and in which things are done more freely than in the world that is governed by daily necessities. And it's this analysis - keeping this up to date - that plays a very important role in what we commonly call intuition, but which actually is a creative phenomenon. That I believe is essential. I think that it's not essentially very different from artistic creation. In a way aesthetics plays a fundamental role." euronews: "When your article was published 50 years ago, it didn't arouse much interest. What message do you have for young researchers?"
