10 Most Unusual Extreme Sports

Top 10 of the most bizarre sporting events that take place around the world. Weird stuff! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Other Videos You Might Like 10 Crazy Amusement Park Accidents https://youtu.be/i6e_KIMv8xg Nasty Things That Are Legally Allowed In Your Food https://youtu.be/T75ULFUgEPk Description: Danger is a fundamental part of the roller coaster experience. Think about it – if there was no element of danger attached to a towering coaster armed with drops, loops and plenty of speed, where would that adrenaline rush come from that thrill seekers crave so much? You know logically that you aren’t going to crash headlong into the ground below you as you plunge into a free fall from hundreds of feet above, but that moment wouldn’t be nearly as exciting if at least a part of your brain wasn’t going “uh-oh…”. Yet, even are deepest, darkest fears are realized every now and then. For the hundreds of millions of roller coaster rides that go off without a hitch at amusement parks and carnivals all over the world, there is the extremely rare and terrifying case of a ride that doesn’t exactly go as planned. You see, part of the reason why these mammoth structures seem daunting and formidable is because they are. These twisting, swooping gargantuan conglomerations are scary by design, meaning that they are deliberately intended to test the limits of their own safety features. The idea of putting your life in the hands of a teenaged ride operator or a sketchy-looking carny is not something that most people want to consider when they strap themselves in. Thankfully, stories of fatal roller coaster incidents remain few and far between, with modern technology helping make them even more rare. While the documentation of such incidents is admittedly spotty, a 2005 report from the Consumer Product Safety Commission counted 52 known deaths related to roller coaster accidents in the United States between 1990 and 2004. On average, that means less than four deaths per year on rides despite a level of popularity that saw 290 million tickets sold by US amusement parks in 2010. But hey, this isn’t a list of the “10 Times Roller Coasters Ran Safely and Without Incident”. On the odd occasion that things go wrong, they can ultimately go very, very wrong. And in a hurry, too. For the solid safety record and security features of modern coasters, a loose screw here and an overly rambunctious rider can turn to tragedy awfully quick. Look, we’re not trying to send you screaming in the opposite direction of your local Six Flags. Still, there’s something fundamentally fascinating about the stark contrast between the thrilling highs of a smooth ride and the devastating horror of a ride gone wrong. Morbid curiosity over roller coaster disasters has yielded a cult of followers, including a website dedicated to tracking ride accidents called RideAccidents.com which identifies itself as “world's most comprehensive source of amusement ride accident reports and related news”. Improve Your Writing - 6 ways to compare

10:33
One of the most common types of essays you will have to write at university as well as on the IELTS or TOEFL is a comparison essay. In this lesson, I will teach you some useful words that will help you to compare things. By the end of this video, you will be able to use terms such as "alike", "similar", "in the same way", "likewise", and more. Take my quiz at the end for more experience using these words. http://www.engvid.com/writing-6-ways-to-compare/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video, I am going to teach you some key words you can use when you talk about how things are the same or similar. Okay? So when you compare two things -- when you're comparing apples and oranges, there are some similarities. They're both fruits. When you're comparing shopping to skiing, when you're comparing a city to a country or the countryside -- there is a certain language we like to use when we're saying how these things are similar or the same. In this video, I'm going to teach you a bunch of expressions you can use when comparing two things to show their similarities. Okay? So this video is called "Talking about similarities". So for this video, I decided I wanted to do a theme. I wanted to look at how Canada and England are similar. In what ways are they very much alike? Okay? So each of my sentences are going to have to do with Canada and England, and we're going to look at how they're alike using these comparison words. So for those of you watching, if you are doing the TOEFL, these words are essential. If you are doing the IELTS -- very important vocabulary here. General English, you can use these at university for essays, college, or even just general conversation. So let's get started. Okay. So how are Canada and England the same? Well, I would say, first of all, both Canada and England have a queen. Both Canada and England have Queen Elizabeth. So one word we often use when we're talking about similarities is this word, "both". Both Canada and England have a queen. Both Canada and England have trees. Both Canada and England have cities. Okay? So there are a lot of different things you can compare. This is just one of them. Now, I want to say why I wrote the word "beginning" here. "Both" often comes at the beginning of a sentence. And notice how the construction is. We have both A and B. Another example, "Both cats and dogs are animals." "Both hamsters and mice are rodents." Okay? So we use this a lot when we're comparing. We can also say "like". In this case, we're not saying, "I like Canada" or "I like" -- you know, showing preference -- we're again showing similarity. "Like Canada, England has many immigrants." Canada has many immigrants. England has many immigrants. "Like Canada, England has many immigrants." And again, you'll notice "like" is at the beginning of the sentence. It's often -- not always, but often -- at the beginning. We have it followed by a noun. I could change this to something else. Imagine if I wanted to compare cats and dogs. "Like cats, dogs have fur." Okay? I could say that. If I'm comparing men and women, "Like women, men are human." Okay? It's not the greatest of comparisons, but you can use these types of words when you're comparing. Okay? So now, I have some other things I want to compare. In England, they speak English. In Canada, we also speak English. Not everybody, but many Canadians speak English. Some speak French, but a lot of people speak English. So I'm going to teach you some words you can use when comparing these two sentences. "In England, they speak English. Similarly, in Canada many people speak English, too. In comparison, in Canada many people also speak English. In the same way, in Canada many people speak English." And finally, another way similar to this but slightly different, "Likewise, in Canada many people speak English." So these are a little bit different from these ones. They all mean how they are the same. But you'll notice one of the differences here is these are followed by a comma. "Likewise, comma." And then, we have the rest of the sentence. These go at the beginning of the sentence. Okay? In case you can't tell, this is a period. So we have our first sentence, "In England, they speak English. Similarly, in Canada many people speak English." Okay? So you can use these in your writing. They would really, really help on your TOEFL, IELTS, or university essays to help you get a better mark.

10 Exercises to Become Taller In One Week

13:35
You may have different reasons for dreaming of becoming taller: to feel more comfortable with your taller partner, not to lag behind your tall family, and what not. Here're several simple exercises to do at home that will help you to increase your height. Everybody knows that the height depends on many factors: environment, hormones, your genes, and nutrition. But if you've always believed that you must just grin and bear it, think twice. It's hard but not impossible to change your height even after 25. Stretched muscles receive more blood as it circulates better in the stretched limbs. What is more, oxygen moves better in the whole body. All in all, this leads to a gradual natural stretch. Cobra Pose has several additional benefits, such as decreasing the stiffness of the lower back, increasing flexibility, strengthening your shoulders and arms, and firming and toning the buttocks. A longer neck you can get as a result of Neck Stretch will give you some additional height. There have been claims that by regular practice, vibration gymnastics can even prolong your life by decades. When your heels are raised, the largest blood vessels are filled with blood due to muscle contraction. And, when the heels are dropped back down, the blood turns around and immediately starts moving toward your heart, thus reducing the strain on it. At the same time, blood gets access to all the muscles, thus, allowing them to stretch much better. Skipping makes the whole body slimmer, and with a slimmer body, you look taller. Swimming is one of the most effective exercises to gain height. The thing is that it stretches both the body and the spine. Moreover, when a person is swimming, gravitation doesn't affect them. So, when they keep moving their muscles, this stretches the body extremely well simultaneously having a great effect on the spine while it gets longer. #becometaller #growfast #growtaller Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Hanging exercises 1:21 Downward Dog 2:30 Cobra Pose 3:51 Cat and Cow Stretch 4:43 Calves Stretch 6:06 Neck Stretch 7:25 Hip Flexor Stretch 8:46 Lifting up to your toes 10:18 Skipping 11:21 Swimming 12:05 SUMMARY -Try this antigravity exercise to stretch every muscle in your body stretches when you hang. -The Downward Dog exercise improves stretchability, which includes arms, legs, back, calves, and hamstrings. A well-stretched body is a taller body. -Cobra Pose helps to stretch all the muscles in your chest, shoulders, and abdominals. -Cat and Cow Stretch stretches your torso, back, and neck, what is more, it makes your spine alignment better. Also, it helps abdominal muscles get stronger, relieves back pain, and calms you down. -Calves Stretch will help you to lengthen your calf muscles. -Flexion (stretching the neck forward), and extension (stretching the neck backward) help to elongate the muscles in your neck. -Hip Flexor Stretch will super effectively stretch your hip flexors. To make the stretch more intense, lift your arms over your head and arch your body back. -Lifting up to your toes is popularly known as vibration gymnastics. By regular practice, it can even prolong your life by decades. -Skipping is a heart-pumping high-speed activity. When you skip, all the muscles and ligaments of your body stretch and contract. -The most fruitful swimming style is the breaststroke. When you use it while swimming, you extend your legs and arms straight, so your body is pulled in the opposite directions and well-stretched. Try to swim minimum five days a week for several hours, and you'll see noticeable results. 5 Bras to Stay Away From and 9 That Are Safe

80% of women are wearing the wrong sized bra. And even if you’ve got the size right, chances are that your bra's made of materials that are really bad for you! Unfortunately, a lot of these man-made textiles contain dangerous toxins that can cause serious health problems. - This glue is made with toxin-filled chemicals that aren’t necessarily supposed to sit on your skin for long periods of time. - The plastic material allows for no ventilation whatsoever, which (you should know by now) means rashes and irritations galore! - If you have a larger chest, good even support is key. So, obviously, full-support bras are the way to go here! - Front-clasp bras open and close from the front instead of the back, hence the name! While this feature offers no benefits health-wise, it’s a little easier to take on. - Sports bras keep everything in place during excessive movement, which can prevent sagging in the future. - Racerback bras, when they’re the right size, not only provide great support, but their straps are also perfectly hidden under a cute racerback shirt. - Push-up bras have an extra layer of padding in the bottom half of the cup. This padding gives your breasts a nice lift and boosted support since they hug close to your body. - And if you’re going for the opposite effect of a push-up – that is, a SMALLER look to the breasts – then you’ll want a minimizer bra. - Strapless bras are usually better for smaller to medium-sized breasts given that they provide minimal support. - Bullet bras were the norm back in the ‘40s and ‘50s, and they were made to give the breasts a pointier shape. - Convertible bras allow you to get multiple styles in just one bra. Whether you’re wearing a halter top, a plain ol’ tee, or a racerback, convertible bras let you manipulate the straps to match whatever style you’re going for. Game On Launch

04:05
An online sports magazine for South African schools is being launched in Pretoria this morning. Game On is the first of its kind and will contain extensive coverage of promising young athletes in both the popular and lesser known sports. "We'd like to nurture a love for all kinds of sports among young people and to make them of the history of each of these types of sport. With a bit of luck the success stories will also encourage other young sportsmen and -women to train a bit harder," explains Michael van Rensburg of the publishing company The Camouflage Group. His co-directors are Dave White, who came up with the idea, and Charl Kruger. The monthly magazine will only be published digitally, as this is young people's preferred way of communication and also less expensive to produce. Youngsters and their parents will be able to read Game On anytime, anywhere. Seven sponsors have also thrown their weight behind the magazine. Barcelos, Cadac, Jetmaster, New Balance, Talent etc, TuksSport High School and the High Performance Centre, where the launch is being held, are involved. "We've also got access to all of HPC's scientific expertise in the writing of articles and to the young athletes being sponsored by them," says Van Rensburg. The magazine's lay-out and contents reflect the preferences of the target group of young people between 14 and 22 years of age, but he believes parents who are keen to know more about other disciplines, and who'd like to encourage their children, will find the articles equally insightful. Parents and senior sportsmen and -women will benefit from the columns written by sport scientists and the HPC, in which they give advice about healthy eating habits, training programmes and sports injuries. Former international referee André Watson's revelations about happenings on South African rugby fields will be of interest to young and old. "We are one of few magazines covering the advance of young sport stars. Others tend to focus on athletes who have already made a name for themselves. It will be exciting walking the road with a 15 year old until he or she finally makes it to a senior international athletics event or the Olympic Games." Game On will appear every month and the contents of 70 to 120 pages will be edited by Wilhelm de Swardt. His career includes 15 years' of sports writing for Beeld and coverage of international events like the 2008 Olympic and Paralympics Games in Beijing. He admits to a special love of individual sports like athletics, mountain-and road biking, canoeing, triathlon, tennis and rowing. The November issue contains articles on 18 types of sport; from parkour, tug-of-war, archery and equestrian sports to rugby. "Athletes can't select their talents, they are born with them and deserve support for what they're good at," says Van Rensburg. People at the launch are being introduced to sporting legends like Khotso Mokoena (Olympic medal winner in the long jump), Caster Semenya (Olympic 800 metre medallist) and South Africa's Olympic gold rowing team John Smit, Lawrence Brittian, Lawrence Ndlovu and James Thompson, as well as Bridgitte Hartley (who paddled her way to bronze at last year's Games in London). Also present are former world junior triathlon champion Wian Sullwald and the talented Michaela Whitebooi, who won two gold medals at his year's US Open Judo Tournament in Miami. Van Rensburg views their involvement as an honour for the new magazine and adds that although Game On will be focussing on sports achievements all over the country, those who have already made their mark will get the attention they deserve. "Young sports people can learn a lot from senior athletes; it's a way to stay clear of the mistakes that the older athletes have made. The magazine will convey tips to younger athletes and we will have senior athletes on three of our covers throughout the year. Overseas events of interest will also be covered from time to time."

English Vocabulary: Talking about SPORTS!

07:00
In this video, you will learn important vocabulary related to sports. What's the difference between a "nail-biter" and a "blowout"? Which prepositions can you use after "win" and "lose"? How do you use the verbs "beat" and "beaten"? Become a pro at speaking about soccer/football, hockey, basketball, baseball, and more in this fun and useful lesson. http://www.engvid.com/english-vocabulary-sports/ TRANSCRIPT Oh, hey. Sorry, guys. Just watching the game. So I'm Alex. Thanks for clicking, and welcome to this lesson on talking about sports. So today, I'm going to look at some of the basic vocabulary that we use to talk about our favorite teams, what happened in the game yesterday... And this is useful to talk about soccer, football, hockey, baseball -- almost any team sport that you can think of and maybe some single sports as well. So today, I have a sample situation. Realistic or non-realistic, depends on what year it is, I guess. Here, we have the score of a soccer game in the English Premier League. It's Arsenal 2, Chelsea 1. So some of the most common questions that you ask if you've watched the game yesterday in the past was, you know, "Who played?" "What was the score?" "Who won?" So these are the three most common questions that sports fans ask about a game that just happened. So I'm going to look at some of the most common vocab to start, and then, I'll look at some of the more specific situations. So here are five different sentences -- the five most common sentences that you use when you talk about one team defeating another team or beating another team. So if we talk about who played yesterday, you could say, "Arsenal played against Chelsea." So it's -- we say "played against"; "they played against." You could say "with", but it's not as common. Normally, we say, "They played against each other" or, "They played against one another." Now, here, the score is Arsenal 2, Chelsea 1. So we can say, "Arsenal won against Chelsea." You could also say, "Arsenal won 2-1 against Chelsea" -- the score. And very common, "Arsenal beat Chelsea." So very common verb when talking about sports is "beat". Now, on the other side, if you want to talk about the loser, we can say, "Chelsea lost against" or, "Chelsea lost to arsenal", okay? So, "Chelsea lost against arsenal. They lost to Arsenal." You can also say, "They lost 2-1." So you can give the sore as well. And finally, this is the passive construction. Here, we have, "Arsenal beat Chelsea." And in the passive sense, you can say, "Chelsea were beaten by Arsenal." So we don't say "were beat". The past participle of "beat" is "beaten", so you have to say, "Chelsea were beaten by Arsenal. They were beaten 2-1". Okay? Again, no offense to Chelsea fans. I'm just an arsenal supporter, so that's just me. Now, let's look at some other situations that happen in sports -- team sports specifically. Here, we have some different scores, different situations. So here, we have a game where it's Manchester United and Liverpool, and the score was 1-1. So we can say, "The game ended in a draw" or, "The game ended in a tie." So these are the two words that you need to know if the score is the same. So if the score is 1-1, 2-2, 0-0, you can say, "The game ended in a draw" or, "The game ended in a tie." You can also just say, "They tied" or, "They tied 1-1." "They tied 2-2." Okay? Here, we have another situation. Arsenal 5, Everton 0. So in this situation, Arsenal won by a large difference of goals. So if one team dominates the other team on the scoreboard, we can say, "It was a blowout." So here, we have "blowout". So think of the words "blow out". So here, we can say that "Arsenal blew Everton out." So, "They blow them out." "Arsenal blew Everton out." And you can also use the passive where "Everton, they were blown out." So here, you use, "They were blown out" in the passive construction for Everton. "They were blown out. Arsenal blew them out." Okay? And here, "The game was a blowout. It was not even close. It was not close." Now, here, we have Real Madrid 3, Barcelona 2. It sounds like a very exciting game, a close game. So if you have a close game, you can just say, "It was a close game." If you want to get a little bit more -- I'll use the term "slangy", I guess. Use a little bit more slang. You can say, "It was a nail-biter." So think of your nails and -- you're watching the game. It's so exciting. It's so close, and you're so nervous that you're biting your nails. So you can say, "The game was a nail-biter. It was a close game." Okay?

The victory of the underdog. The last minute penalty shot that wins the tournament. The training montage. Many people love to glorify victory on the field, cheer for teams, and play sports. But should we be obsessed with sports? Are sports as good for us as we make them out to be, or are they just a fun and entertaining pastime? Leah Lagos and Jaspal Ricky Singh show what science has to say on the matter. Lesson by Leah Lagos and Jaspal Ricky Singh, animation by Kozmonot Animation Studio.

How Bad Do You Want It - What Is Motivation In Sports

05:51
Get Faster In 15 Minutes Guaranteed: http://combinetips.com How Bad Do You Want It - What Is Motivation In Sports It is a well-known fact that success requires a great deal of patience and hard work. In order to achieve victory a sports person is required to practice and train every day. As such, they need to be suitably motivated. Lack of motivation may lead to a lax in their fitness routine. People can be motivated in numerous ways. Researchers state that motivation is "a process through which a person makes use of available resources, time, talent, and energy, and distributes them in a way they choose." This process is called the personal investment theory, and it includes a two-stage causal process. The first stage involves the effects of external factors and their influence on how an individual looks at a particular situation. In the second stage, the individual takes into consideration a personal investment in the situation. The personal investment involves an inner drive, a desire, or an intention an individual possesses as a reaction to external influences. Different athletes have different forms of motivation to keep them dedicate to a particular sport. It may be enjoyment, physical fitness, social relationships, or goal attainment. There are two kinds of motivation that enables sportsmen to achieve a particular goal or task. The first type of extrinsic motivation in sports comes from external influences or people. People are extrinsically motivated to earn rewards, social recognition, or benefits. The second kind of intrinsic motivation is an inherent characteristic that feeds off one's inner drive to accomplish a goal or objective. Intrinsically motivated people focus on a task for their own sake. They have a sense of self-determination, and look upon themselves as being able to meet the demands of a particular task. With the introduction of the Internet, there have been a number of sites solely dedicated to providing information on sports motivation. These sites also publish a number of sports related articles and quotes intended to motivate sportspersons. Motivation provides detailed information on Motivation, Daily Motivation, Employee Motivation, Motivation Posters and more. Motivation is affiliated with Christian Motivational Speakers. 10 Funniest Baseball First Pitches

10:16
Subscribe to TheSportster http://goo.gl/mZKUfd For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Baseball first pitches are a silly thing. They mean nothing, are there just for show and you just know that 99 percent of the time the person throwing it is going to look like a complete idiot. When signing up to take on this gig, you think that these people would practice heavily to avoid being featured on a funny sports bloopers compilation. Apparently not though as time after time celebrities, politicians, animals and freaking fictional characters (yup Darth Vader is on this list, didn’t see that one coming on a sports channel did ya?) make fools of themselves trying to pitch a baseball. The mistakes can often be repeated in these pitches. People like Michael Jordan, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg release their balls too early and that causes the ball to go careening off to the side of the plate like a swerving car. Other times people like Carly Rae Jepsen will release the ball too late so that it hits the dirt so fast you may not even see it. But the worst of the worst have to be the ones who just didn’t care. The ones who didn’t put one iota of thought into their throw and disrespecting the sacred tradition of baseball ceremonial first pitches. Yes we’re looking at you Mariah Carey with your ridiculous high heels to throw a baseball in Japan. How dare you. With all that out of the way, here are the 15 funniest first pitches in Baseball history. Enjoy! For more videos and articles visit: http://www.TheSportster.com

Types of Compression in Yoga: Hip Example

It is important for us as yoga practitioners to know whether what is stopping us going deeper in a posture is compression or tension because if it is the former we can possibly be causing ourselves harm rather than good. In this video we look at three types of compression using what can happen around the hip as an example. I co-hosted this workshop with Gosia Kobus-Kwiatkowska of Yoga Anatomy Poland. By the time the Bucks became better, Redd had already started to decline. So...what happened? Hope you enjoy the video! Most sports have been recreated with a game, including team sports, track and field, extreme sports and combat sports. Some games emphasize actually playing the sport (such as the Madden NFL series), whilst others emphasize strategy and sport management (such as Championship Manager and Out of the Park Baseball). Some, such as Need for Speed, Arch Rivals and Punch-Out!!, satirize the sport for comic effect. This genre has been popular throughout the history of video games and is competitive, just like real-world sports. A number of game series feature the names and characteristics of real teams and players, and are updated annually to reflect real-world changes. Sports genre is one of the oldest genres in gaming history.

The 5 Best (and Worst) Types of Creatine

09:37
10 TYPES OF CREATINE AND WHAT THEY ALL MEAN: https://barbend.com/best-type-of-creatine/ Thanks to Ben Esgro, MS, RD for coming on. Check out his supplement company: http://denovosupps.com OUR PICKS FOR THE BEST CREATINE SUPPLEMENTS ON THE MARKET: https://barbend.com/best-creatine-supplements/ Nothing beats creatine monohydrate — it's the most researched form of creatine by a million miles. So what are all these other creatines doing on the market? (Note: The content on BarBend is meant to be informative in nature, but it should not be taken as medical advice. The opinions and articles in this video are not intended for use as diagnosis, prevention, and/or treatment of health problems. Speak with your physician if you have any concerns.) Creatine Hydrochloride Also called Creating HCl, this is when the creatine has been bound with parts of a hydrochloride molecule, making it more acidic. It also reduces its mass, so you might be able to use a smaller serving size. This process makes it easier for it to dissolve in water, which can be useful for a supplement, but there's no evidence it conveys other benefits. That said, anecdotally, some find that it's easier on the stomach than regular creatine monohydrate so it may be more useful for those with sensitive stomachs. pH-Buffered Creatine This goes the other way to HCl; it's more basic, as opposed to more acidic. There's no evidence it's any better than monohydrate, and a 2012 study in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition pretty firmly concluded that their findings "do not support claims that consuming a buffered form of creatine is a more efficacious and/or safer form of creatine to consume than creatine monohydrate." Creatine Nitrate This one might have some uses. This is when creatine is bound with nitrate, which is linked with nitric oxide production. Nitrates have pretty strong links with improved performance in aerobic and anaerobic exercise, which is why they're often included in pre workouts. Creatine nitrate isn't more effective than just taking creatine and nitrate separately, but creatine nitrate may confer both of their benefits. More research is needed. Creatine Ethyl Ester This is probably the worst type of creatine. Research suggests it results in less creatine winding up in the muscles than if you were using monohydrate, plus it seems to increase the amount of creatinine in the body. That's a waste byproduct of creatine that the kidneys need to excrete, so it's not a great idea to purposely add it to the body.
