Korean Language Exchange PROBLEMS | Tips for Language Exchange
Let’s talk about Korean language exchange. Have you ever tried language exchange with a native Korean? If so, was it a group meetup, a one-on-one exchange, or an online exchange (voice chat and texting)? While practicing Korean with native speakers is definitely useful and necessary to improve your Korean, it’s also not without its difficulties and problems. I talked with SpongeMind TV and Motivate Korean all about language exchange. Share any problems or questions you have about language exchange in the comments! Want to start learning Korean? How I learnt English to get into a UK uni (easy tips)
Today I am going to tell you how I learnt English before coming to the UK and share my best tips with you guys. When you are learning English first of all you must make sure that you are working on all 4 main language skills: 1. Writing 2. Reading 3. Listening 4. And Speaking Only when you are confident in all 4 of these skills you can say that you speak a foreign language well. I developed my listening skills by watching movies and tv shows in English. If you are a beginner and struggling to understand movies in English, I advise you to start with simple citcoms like for example Friends (that was my personal favourite) or even cartoons. These type of tv shows have much simpler vocabulary than movies. I also would recommend you to switch on subtitles, but make sure you use English subtitles, and not in your own language. I spent a lot of time working on my reading skills back in the day. And it is incredibly important skill. I used to read different articles in Internet and books in English. I recommend you guys to read on various topics as only than you can build rich vocabulary. I used to write down all new words, translate them and also write down the whole sentence from the book just as an example of how to use a particular word. There are books in English of different complexity so you can always find something that suits your level of English. I recommend to choose a book where you come across 5 to 10 new words on each page. If you find less unfamiliar words than the book or article can be too simple for you. But if you have to check in a dictionary more than 10 words from each page it might be a sign that this particular book is too advanced for your level. One of the best tips is to read in English out load! It will help you to improve your pronunciation and increase your fluency. I used to read out load every day for at least 20 minutes. I noticed that many students complain that their English writing skills are weak. But actually it is very easy to develop your writing skills it just takes practice and patience. For example, after watching a movie or reading a book, I used to write a little essay retelling the main idea of it. This exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve your writing skills, practice your English grammar and use new words you have just learnt! Practised daily it will take your English to the next level very soon. Finally, speaking. I guess this is the area where all of us struggle the most! Some of you know English pretty well but still have this barrier that stops you from speaking it. And that barrier is called shyness! Years ago I was sooo shy to speak English that I would literally sweat like crazy till I finish one sentence. Now I am making videos on YouTube in English and I am sure my English is not perfect, I have an accent and surely make mistakes. But that is not the point! If you want to be fluent, you have to practice. That is exactly what I did! I used to have a friend who also was serious about improving her English and we would speak to each other in English to practice our fluency. At some point I found a language course in my home town where native speakers used to teach and joint the course to overcome my shyness to speak to native English speakers. These days it is so easy to practice English, there are specialized language exchange websites where you can find buddies to practise English over skype or phone calls. Like for example conversationexchange.com or easylanguageexchange.com. I haven’t tried them myself, as there was no such thing back in the day. But I hope you find them helpful. Don't you want to be a part of language exchange group?
[email protected] Language Exchange - Once a week (weekday) - 7:30 PM - A café around Gunkuk university station - 1 hour for Korean, 1 hour for English Issues I found at other langue exchange 1. They call it language exchange but foreigners never speak Korean there. Unfair! How to solve : one hour for Korean, one hour for English. 2. new people come every week so people ask the same questions. How old, what do you do… How to solve : since it’s for fixed people you don’t have to ask very first meeting questions. And no more awkward! How it goes : It’s basically a group meeting but it goes 1 on1 so that you can ask exactly what you want. Learners have to prepare what you want to learn. For example, if you’re struggling with words or grammars. You need to write them in advance before you come to this meeting.

Bulgarian-Greek language exchange workshop
This is a video to summarize my experience as a volunteer teaching Bulgarian language to Greeks. During 3 months I've been doing European Voluntary Service in Kalamata, Greece. As a part of the project we were exchanging language skills with people from the local community. As a result we had lot of fun and moments of "learning by doing" and "non-formal education". The classes of our workshop were taking place in the Youth Center of Kalamata (Κέντρο Νέον Καλαμάτας), which is entirely run by local and international volunteers.

Worried about children travelling to England? - Irene, Spain.
Worried about children travelling to England? Centre of Excellence, Cambridge Language and Activity Courses (CLAC) was founded in 1985 with the idea of bringing together overseas and British students for an international summer course experience with a focus on natural language exchange and friendship. It is an idea that is still at the heart of CLAC and drives what we do today. From the start CLAC has operated like a family both in terms of management and the atmosphere of its summer schools. www.clac.org.uk / [email protected] / +44(0)1223 846348.
