Transportation Vocabulary & Phrasal Verbs - GET ON, GET OUT OF, RIDE, GO
http://www.engvid.com/ I GET OFF a train, bus, or subway. But: I GET OUT OF a car or taxi. I RIDE a bike and a motorcycle. How do you get to work or school? Learn how to use phrasal verbs to talk about transportation, then test yourself on the quiz at http://www.engvid.com/transportation-vocabulary-phrasal-verbs/ Hello. How are you? Today, we're going to learn about getting around. This means taking public transportation or talking about how you got somewhere or how you're going to go somewhere. All of the examples I've written in the past tense because somebody might ask you, "How did you get here?" "What? I flew because I have a magic carpet. That's how. Why?" We have different ways of getting places. Verbs: You can say, "I took a 'bus', a 'train', a 'cab', or a 'taxi'." "Cab" and "taxi" are the same. Or you can take a "plane". So with all of these nouns -- "plane", "cab", "taxi", "train", "bus" -- you're going to use the verb "took". There are no exceptions. You cannot say, "I rode a bus. I rode a train." It's wrong. "Rode" means that you were on top of the bus or on the train doing some bus surfing -- didn't happen. I hear people say this a lot, "How did you get here?" "I ride car." "Wow. What were you doing on top of the car?" If you "ride" something, you're always on top of it. What can you -- what can you ride? I can ride a bicycle. So "ride" literally means you're on top of something. Tell me what you can ride. You can ride a bicycle, a motorcycle, a scooter, a moped. If you're on top of it, you're riding it -- a horse. "I go by car." No, no, no. These, unfortunately, are wrong. We don't say, "I go by car" or "I ride car." We say, very easily, past tense of the verb "drive": "drove". "How did you get here?" "I drove." You do not need to say, "I drove by car" because you're not driving a bus; you're not driving an airplane; you're not driving a train. Very simply, you can say, "I drove." Another thing that I hear people say is, "I go by foot." "One foot? You have one foot? Did you hop here the whole time? You must be tired. You go by foot? Wow." Maybe you only have one foot. That's cool. You should drive or take a bus. Another thing: "I walk on foot." This means that you take your hands, and you literally put them underneath your feet and you walk -- if this is your foot -- you walk on your hands. This is painful. I do not recommend this. I would not literally want to walk on my hands. Please don't walk on your feet. Do not walk on your hands. "I walk on your foot" would be, "I'm sorry" -- walk on hands, walk on feet. You'd be stepping on your feet, and you would never get anywhere. You just want to say, "I walked." "How did you get here today, Ronnie?" "I walked." Another thing that's really confusing in English -- and I understand why -- is when to use the phrasal verb "got on" or "got off", and when to say "got in" or "got out". So as an example, we would say, "I got off the train." Let's write that down. Or you can say, "I got on the train." Also, we use this with a bus. So you can say, "I got on the bus" and "I got off the bus." You don't need to use extra words. Like, you don't want to say, "I got off on the bus." You don't want to say, "I got the train off." Unnecessary. Please do not use extra words when you say this. You're just going to say, "I got on" -- the verb -- the noun. Or "I got off", the noun. "Train", "bus", and the "plane", or an "airplane". So think about this: What does -- or what do trains, buses, and airplanes have in common? No? Nothing? No? Okay. A train, a bus, or an airplane has many people. You can think of it as something that is public or very large. So a train, a bus, or an airplane, you have to pay. It's really big, and you can fit many people on it. So you're going to get on or get off something that is very big. You're going to get off something that's very big. Or if it's public transportation, you can fit many people.

This video uses Google TTS en-US-Standard-D voice. SUMMARY ======= Transport system in India consists of transport by land, water, and air. Public transport remains the primary mode of transport for most Indian citizens, and India's public transport systems are among the most heavily used in the world.Motor vehicle population in India is low as per international standards, with only 24.85 million cars on the nation's roads as per 2013 records. In total, about 21 percent of households have two wheelers whereas only 4.7 percent of households in India have cars/jeeps/vans as per the 2011 Census. Despite this, the number of deaths caused by traffic is amongst the highest in the world and increasing. The automobile industry in India is currently rapidly growing with an annual production of over 4.6 million vehicles, with an annual growth rate of 10.5% and vehicle volume is expected to rise greatly in the future.India's rail network is the third-longest and the most heavily used system in the world, transporting 8.225 billion passengers and over 970 million tonnes of freight annually, as of 2015. The railways transport about 18 million citizens daily. In 2015–16, Government of India, declared 106 National Waterways (NW) under Inland Waterways Authority of India to reduce the cost of transportation and lower the carbon footprint by moving the traffic from surface roads and railroads to waterways.Despite ongoing improvements in the transport sector, several aspects of transportation are still riddled with problems due to outdated infrastructure and lack of investment in less economically active parts of the country. The demand for transport infrastructure and services has been rising by around 10% a year with the current infrastructure being unable to meet these growing demands. According to Goldman Sachs, India will need to spend US$1.7 trillion on infrastructure projects over the next decade to boost economic growth.

Baxter, Bailey thus far represents 366 carriers totaling almost $672,952.05 in outstanding freight charges. We have learned that Network FOB currently owes approximately $5,000,000.00. Interlog aka Network FOB, has threated to file a lawsuit against Baxter Bailey & Associates if we disperse this email to our carrier clients. However, the information contained in this email is not based on opinion nor speculation. Everything contained in this email is information provided by Network FOB, Interlog USA and Interlog USA attorney. When we contacted Interlog USA last week, Mr. Canfield with Interlog denied any involvement with Network FOB and reiterated the same in in his email dated July 13th (email below) However, In 2014, the Jacksonville Business Journal, Transport Topics, American Trucking Association, and MHC reported Network FOB purchased Interlog USA. The day after we received Mr. Canfield, email, we received a letter from Interlog USA’s attorney. In his letter he confirmed Network FOB currently has ownership in Interlog USA. What is it? Interlog USA’s attorney says Network FOB has ownership in Interlog USA. Mr. Canfield, with Interlog USA says the completed opposite. Taken from Interlog’s attorney letter to Baxter Bailey & Associates dated July 14th. Which is consistent with the published news articles and the letter from Interlog’s attorney. We also have been told that some of the Network FOB’s officers are aligning themselves with a major transportation company located in GA. We will keep you posted.

Cosmetics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Automation, Logistics Software, Natura Brazil Cosmetics
Natura Brazil Cosmetics is Brazil's biggest company for cosmetics, toiletries, perfumes and drugstore articles. It provides over 100 million customers in Latin America and Europe with its products. In order to be able to guarantee the high degree of customer satisfaction and to also reduce errors within the logistics chain, Natura assigned the general contractor SSI Schaefer for the planning and implementation of a logistics hub in Itupeva, São Paulo (Brazil). This distribution centre, with a storage area of 35,000 m2 and a capacity to store 3.6 million bins, is the biggest hub within the Natura logistics network. It provides two further hubs, all international companies as well as twelve distribution centres with Natura products. Twenty truck loads are handled daily thanks to an automated unloading system for trucks which was especially designed for Natura. This automated unloading system can transport 48 pallets simultaneously and unload them in less than 5 minutes fully automatically. In incoming goods, all pallets and loading units are checked for conformity at an inspection station before being stored in a vertical warehouse with 13 storage-retrieval machines of the type Exyz. The storage and retrieval process at the 90,000 pallet locations is extremely energy-efficient. Retrieval is handled by the flexible multi-level shuttle system Navette, which consists of twenty individual warehouse shuttles. The system organises more than 1000 different Natura products directly in the outgoing goods and depalletisation areas. Afterwards the trucks are loaded fully automatically. During retrieval mixed pallets can be created. This reduces the time needed for loading and helps to economise room for loading on the truck. The logistics software WAMAS by SSI Schaefer takes care of the administration, control and optimisation of the entire logistics process in the hub. 3,000 pallets leave the hub on a daily basis to be shipped all over the word. http://www.ssi-schaefer.com

Freight Broker Training - #1 Mistake to Avoid
http://www.FreightBrokerBootcamp.com - In this freight broker training video I cover the #1 mistakes for new freight brokers and freight agents to avoid when getting started! A while back I did a very popular webinar training called, "The Top 10 Mistakes to Avoid as a Freight Broker or Freight Agent" so I have decided to release a 10 video freight broker training videos. Here are 3 easy ways to develop your niche as a freight broker or freight agent. 1. By equipment type - Van, Reefer, Flatbed, RGN, etc. 1:42 2. By product type or industry - Produce, Steel, Bottle Beverages, Heavy Haul, etc. 2:12 3. By Geography - Northeast outbound, TX outbound, Chicago outbound, other lane specific niches including cross boarder freight. 2:35 4. A hyrbrid of 1, 2 or 3 which is what I did when I first got started. 2:58 Back in 2003 I knew van carriers needed freight out of the Northeastern part of the US, states like NY, PA, NJ, MA, CT, ME, etc so I focused on developing carrier and customer relationships in that region. Developing a niche paid off for me and it can pay off your too if you take the time and stay focused. After we developed that market we expanding to Reefer freight and later to flatbed freight and now we move freight from coast to coast on van, reefer and flatbeds. How fraudster Gerard Walsh took millions from transport dynasty - News Techcology
How fraudster Gerard Walsh took millions from transport dynasty - News Techcology The Mail on Sunday has unmasked a fraudster behind an action group which last summer won £200 million of taxpayers' money in a settlement for small investors from RBS.We can reveal that Irish businessman Gerard Walsh duped the Nolan family – who run a haulage business in the UK and Ireland – in a multi-million pound investment scam.Family members are appalled that, given his record, Walsh went on to co-found the RBS Shareholders Action Group, which purported to represent thousands of small investors. The Mail on Sunday can further reveal that Walsh was stripped of an honorary fellowship awarded by Cardiff University after he promised a £2.5 million donation that never materialised. For several months, this newspaper has been investigating Walsh's role at the RBS Shareholders Action Group. In that time, a troubling picture has emerged. The Action Group was set up to fight for justice for innocent small investors, who were misled into buying shares in RBS during the Fred Goodwin era and lost large amounts of their savings as a result. Those blameless small savers signed up to the RBS Shareholders Action Group in their thousands in the hope of receiving compensation. They believed it was a public spirited organisation that would fight their cause against a greedy bank. But so far the ordinary members have not received a penny – and Walsh is battling to claim millions of pounds of taxpayers' money for himself via the RBS settlement. The Nolan family was horrified when Walsh's involvement with the action group emerged after articles appeared in The Mail on Sunday.A source close to the family said: 'They are aghast and cannot believe his brass neck. It beggars belief. How come the Financial Conduct Authority and the other authorities are not homing in on him? He took millions from them and just disappeared. He just melted into the darkness.'The family, from Wexford in Ireland, owns Nolan Transport. In late 2002, the family was introduced to Walsh, who appeared to be running a successful private investment business. He apparently was backed by respected figures including George Mitchell, a former governor of the Bank of Scotland. The Nolans trusted Walsh to invest millions of pounds on their behalf. Their money supposedly went into a string of legitimate investment schemes, including German nursing homes and a ferry company. After a while Walsh failed to provide information about the supposed investments and began failing to turn up for meetings.By 2006, the Nolans were seriously concerned and a year later Walsh offered them €43 million (£38 million at today's exchange rate) as a final settlement for their investments. They accepted but the money never arrived. The family fought a protracted legal battle in the Jersey Royal Court in 2014 in an attempt to recoup some of their losses. They sued companies and individuals associated with Walsh. The court heard he had spent large parts of the money on himself – with £210,000 going towards paying a 10 per cent deposit on Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/news/article-5513443/How-fraudster-Gerard-Walsh-took-millions-transport-dynasty.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Viscon Logistics - Matrix Pallet Storage System animation
Matrix storage system The Matrix storage system is a fully automated system to store, sort, and further handle various products like pallets, and similar sized articles. These different loads can even be handled at random, within the same system. This innovative storage system has many advantages compared to the well-known systems in the market, like stacker cranes (AS/RS systems). It combines the highest possible product storage density with high 24/7 capacity, maximum flexibility, and is functional in temperatures as low as -30 ºC. The Matrix is the next generation of storage systems! Advantages: - Improved storage density; 70% increase compared to other systems. - High performance; by simultaneous orders on each individual layer. - The most optimal use of your building area; through a compact design. - Lower investment; a low price per pallet position. - Low maintenance; by using a minimal amount of driven components. - Optimal and safe access; by easily arranging all moving components to one side. - Integrated control software; which can be integrated seamlessly. The Matrix concept The Matrix system operates with innovative wireless satellites instead of traditional chain-driven storage lanes or telescope movements. Our vertical conveyors distribute the load to the required levels. Every level contains at least one horizontally moving shuttle which transports the load to the required storage lane. The shuttle carries a self powered satellite device that runs on rails in the storage lanes for loading and unloading pallets. Our fully integrated in house software ensures efficient routing and comes standardized or custom made. Optional A truck load sorting area can be created by using chain-driven lanes on the ground level. Allowing the operator to retrieve complete truck loads within minutes, without losing the capacity of the storage system. Self-powered Satellite The specialized components within the satellite ensures a 24/7 operation. - State-of-the-art wireless Siemens components. - Powered by capacitors, charged every cycle during operation. - Can be charged limitless without battery capacity loss. - Energy regeneration up to 80%, when lowering products on shuttles. - Working in extreme conditions as low as -30°C. http://www.visconlogistics.eu/matrix-storage-system/

Comparing Three CO2 Emission Assessments for Freight Transportation In Paris
ABSTRACT: Freight transportation has been immensely successful in meeting the needs of today's urban economies, delivering an increasing number of goods to businesses and households while operating in congested, complex urban environments. More than one million deliveries are made every day in the Paris region. But this has come at a cost, as the environmental impact of urban freight is high. Truck and van trips make up 15% of urban traffic, but generate between a quarter and half of motor traffic pollution in cities. This is due to the old age of urban commercial vehicles and the predominance of diesel vehicles, the stops and goes that goods' deliveries and pickups generate, the increased distances from distribution terminals to final destinations. In this presentation, three recent CO2 emission assessments for freight transportation at different scales will be compared, leading to a discussion on urban freight environmental challenges and the often unsuccessful efforts by local decision-makers to deal with them. SPEAKER BIO: Dr. Laetitia Dablanc, is a visiting scholar at the Sol Price School of Public Policy. She is a senior scientist from the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (IFSTTAR). Her areas of research are freight transportation, freight and the environment, freight policies. She has authored many books and articles on urban freight issues. She received a PhD in transportation planning from Ecole des Ponts-Paris Tech, and a Master's degree in city and regional planning from Cornell University. Professor Dablanc was initially trained in policy analysis and economics at Science Po Paris. With the financial support of IFSTTAR and ADEME, she is currently working on logistics sprawl issues and freight transport planning in U.S. and European mega-regions. She researched at the Georgia Institute of Technology before joining METRANS.

What is Incoterms? International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) was first created and published in 1936 by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), located in Paris. The Incoterms® rules are an internationally recognised standard set of trading terms and conditions used worldwide in international and domestic contracts for the sale of goods. The Incoterm rules describe mainly the tasks, costs and risks involved in the delivery of goods from the sellers to buyers. What is Incoterms 2010? The Incoterms rules are revised from time to time. The most recent revision is Incoterms 2010 and the last modifications in Incoterms 2010 will mainly eliminate four Incoterms – DEQ, DES, DAF and DDU – and introduce two new Incoterms “D”, DAT (Delivered at Terminal) and DAP (Delivered at Place of Destination). There are 11 Incoterm rules in the current Incoterms 2010 published by the International Chamber of Commerce. They are: EXW, FOB, FAS, FCA, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAT, DAP, DDP. What does Incoterms Rules specify? Each Incoterms rule specifies: • the obligations of each party (e.g. who is responsible for services such as transport; import and export clearance etc) • the point in where risk transfers from the seller to the buyer. The buyer and seller can achieve a precise understanding of what each party is obliged to do, whose’s responsibility lies in the event of loss, damage or other mishap. -- ► Subscribe to my Channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TradelinksR... ► Follow My Website: https://tradelinks.com.my/ -- This video was produced by 1.
