http://www.distantlands.com WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO EXCHANGE MONEY IN EUROPE? How many people endlessly scour airfare comparison and hotel booking sites looking for the best deal, then waste all that effort by paying huge fees to exchange money abroad. Once you leave the country, how you pay for things can impact the cost of your trip. What is the best option? Keep watching and we will explore all your currency conversion options while traveling in Europe. But first, don't forget to like, subscribe and comment. EXCHANGING CASH Avoid or minimize cash exchange. Fees can range from about 8% at banks to up to 15% at airport currency exchange booths. If you need to exchange cash, look for places that don't charge a commission. Hold onto your cash for emergencies. If you want cash before leaving the U.S., you may be able to order currency through your bank, or through a website. Rates in the U.S. are usually less favorable than abroad, though, so only get what you need for a day or two. Cash is best for: Emergencies. PRO: You'll almost always find someone who will exchange cash. CON: You will not get a great conversion rate. DEBIT AND ATM CARDS Use these at cash machines (ATM's) to withdraw local cash. Use bank ATM machines. Your rate will be as good as or better than a bank teller. Minimize ATM usage fees by withdrawing as much as you can each time you visit the ATM (and keep the extra cash in your money belt!). AVOID generic ATMs or foreign exchange machines, often found at airport arrival halls, which charge high fees and offer really bad exchange rates. Debit & ATM cards are best for: Getting cash in local currency. PRO: You get the great interbank exchange rate, and ATMs are widely available in cities throughout Europe. CON: Each withdrawal you make will be subject to various fees, so withdraw larger amounts less frequently than you would at home. Debit cards are usually not accepted for car rentals without additional cost and paperwork. PRO TIP: AVOID DYNAMIC CURRENCY CONVERSION. If a merchant asks you if you would like to make your transaction in your home currency instead of local currency, say NO. ALWAYS get your transaction in the local currency or you will pay a huge fee. CREDIT CARDS Credit cards are best for large purchases such as airline or train tickets, hotel bills and car rentals. Generally, paying by credit card gives you a better rate than withdrawing or exchanging cash...as long as you clear your balance each month. The interest you pay on that balance will add to your trip costs. Read your credit card agreement carefully; a foreign currency conversion fee of about 1% is standard. If you can, consider applying for a credit card that doesn't charge foreign currency fees before you travel. However, avoid using your credit card to withdraw cash from ATMs. This is a cash advance, and you will be charged fees and interest immediately. PRO: By using a credit card for most expenses, you can carry less cash. You can also dispute erroneous transactions. And, many credit cards offer points or rewards. CON: Many, if not most credit cards have hidden surcharges for foreign exchange transactions. Look for cards that are travel-friendly. PRO TIP: The Chase Mileage Explorer Card (for United frequent fliers) and the Chase Sapphire card have no international transaction fees. TRAVELER'S CHECKS AND MONEY CARDS While mostly obsolete, traveler's checks provide more security than cash because they can be replaced if lost or stolen. These days, Visa and Travelex offer travel cards that are prepaid like traveler's checks, but work like debit cards for purchases and ATM withdrawals. CON: The exchange rate for traveler's checks is not as favorable as the interbank rate you get when using a credit or debit card, and very few merchants accept them for purchase these days. You'll incur commissions, shipping charges and/or conversion fees to purchase AND cash the checks. The prepaid cards have plenty of fees, too--activations fees, reloading fees, ATM charges, and even inactivity fees. In most cases you're better off using your own debit card. Exchanging Currency
https://www.instagram.com/mitchelltravels/ https://www.facebook.com/mitchellranceactor/ Hey, guys! Ever wondered about the best way to use your money abroad without feeling like you're paying too much in fees? I got you covered with my tips. - Accept the fact that there will always be a fee - Know the kind of country you're going to: Underdeveloped nations will require you to carry more cash. - Withdraw a large sum of cash from a local ATM, preferably, as soon as you land. - The less you withdraw, the less fees paid, so withdraw a lot at once. - Do NOT exchange cash at a currency shop/stand - Apply for a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees. - Venture Card from Capital One and AAdvantage by Citi are great choices. - Use your zero-fee credit card as often as possible to reduce fees

Banks and others who deal in huge volumes of currency, pay a little more than the market rate. For example, if the market rate for the USD against the AUD is .88, the wholesaler might only receive .8795 cents for one AUD. Next in the chain is the retailer who may only receive USD.8750 for one AUD. The consumer may only receive .8725cents for his one AUD. This margin is how the money exchanger makes money. What cannot be sold to other customers is sold to wholesalers. Margins vary from one retail exchanger to the next but those margins are adequate to allow a profit. Charging a fee or commission is icing on the cake and amounts to nothing more than loading the rate to a greater or lesser extent. And, if you're exchanging a lot of money or buying several currencies, the total fees become an unnecessary burden. Retailers are required to disclose that they are charging a commission or fee. It's always in the small print! When at the window, always ask if there is a fee or commission. If there is, look for another exchange shop. However, make sure the rates remain competitive. Remember, when buying foreign currency, the higher the rate, the better. It means that you are receiving more of the foreign currency per dollar than you would if the quoted rate is lower. When selling foreign currency, you want the rate as low as possible. All retailers are happy to buy back what you don't spend, although usually not coinage. The golden rule: Don't pay fees or commission on foreign exchange transactions. Check the small print! GDAX uses a maker-taker fee model. GDAX offers zero percent maker fee regardless of the amount of asset traded on the exchange. The taker fee is between 0.1% and 0.25%. A 15% rebate is applied on the taker fees if the trading volume reaches 20% of the exchange volume in the past 30 days. Orders that provide liquidity ("maker orders") are charged different fees than orders that take liquidity ("taker orders"). The fee is assessed as a percentage of the quote currency. The most common fee types include charging the deposits and withdrawal from the exchange’s account and applying fees on the trading activity. The fees are usually depending on the type of transfer in terms of deposits and withdrawals. Bank wire transfers, credit card top ups and using alternative payment providers often costs money even before starting the trading activity on the bitcoin exchange platform. On the other hand, cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals are usually free of charges, you only have to pay for the transaction fee on the blockchain that is payable to the miners. A couple of exchanges, however, make it free to deposit or withdraw the funds from the exchange. In these cases, only the miner fee is due in case of cryptocurrency payouts, as this fee is not set by or payable to the platform, it is rather needed in order to verify the transactions on the blockchain. The other common fee type is the trading fee that is payable as a percentage on each transaction made on the platform. The trading fees usually range between 0.1% to 0.25%, but it can be up to 1% of the trading amount that is charged for making orders on the exchange. NOTE: Trading is a highly risky activity. Money Transfer Explained
Money transfer services can save you a lot of money when doing international transfers compared to the ATM or the bank. How do they work and are they worth the effort? Recommended money transfer services: **1st choice** CurrencyFair https://www.currencyfair.com/?channel=RGN3H1 [Referral link. Free transfer + 30€ bonus if you transfer 2000€ or equivalent] Usually the least expensive, but also the smallest list of supported currencies/countries. Use CurrencyFair first if your money comes *from* Europe, UK, Australia or any country where CurrencyFair has a local bank account. List of supported currencies to ‘send in’: https://app.currencyfair.com/support/en/sending-in/16 Check if they have a local account to ‘send in’ your currency: https://www.currencyfair.com/how-it-works/exchange-process-times/ (For example, they do not have local accounts in the US, Canada and New Zealand even if they accept the respective currencies.) **2nd Choice** TransferWise http://bit.ly/creativenomad_TW1 [Referral Link to support this channel. The free transfer promotion has been phased out! Sorry. :( ] Use TransferWise first if your money comes *from* the US, Canada, New Zealand or any supported country with a local account. Also use them to get an extra free transfer after using up your CurrencyFair freebie. List of supported countries here: http://bit.ly/creativenomad_TW2 How to make a transfer step-by-step here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWCFao8kcbI **3rd Choice** XE.com http://www.xe.com/xemoneytransfer/ Use XE.com if you need to transfer from a currency/country that is not supported by CurrencyFair or TransferWise, like sending money *from* Mexico. List of supported currencies here: http://www.xe.com/xemoneytransfer/ca/#currencies **EXTRA INFO** Good post comparing various money transfer services: https://www.currencyfair.com/blog/money-transfer-companies-compared/ Excellent website that compares various services including spread and fees for a given trade: https://moneytis.com/ Tips: ** You need a bank account at both ends of the transaction. The receiving account usually doesn't have to be yours, so you can use a (trusted!) friend's account if your are in a pinch. ** Compare your particular trade between services, pricing varies a lot depending on countries and currencies. ** Money transfer services are usually slow. The delay can be from a few hours to a few business days to more than a week in some cases. Plan ahead. ** Always test a new transfer service with a smaller amount first (a few hundred dollars or equivalent) to make sure everything is working as expected. ** Break down very big transfers into smaller chunks. It minimizes risk if anything goes wrong and it avoids getting flagged by government checks (usually around 10000US$, varies by country). It also evens out variations in the exchange rate if you do multiple transfers over a few weeks instead of all on the same day.

IAS 21 The Effects of Changes in Foreign Exchange Rates
http://www.ifrsbox.com This is the short summary of IAS 21 The Effects of Changes in Foreign Exchange Rates. In today's world, the entities carry out their foreign activities in 2 ways: 1. They have some transactions in foreign currencies, or 2. They Have a foreign operation. An entity can also decide to present its financial statements in some foreign currency other than their own. The objective of IAS 21 is to prescribe • How to include foreign currency transactions and foreign operations in the financial statements of an entity; and • How to translate financial statements into a presentation currency. Functional currency is the currency of the primary economic environment in which the entity operates. It is the own entity's currency and all other currencies are "foreign currencies". The primary economic environment is normally the one in which the entity primarily generates and expends the cash, but more factors needed to be considered, such as the currency in which the sales prices are denominated, etc. Presentation currency is the currency in which the financial statements are presented. How to report transactions in FUNCTIONAL CURRENCY Initially, all foreign currency transactions shall be translated to functional currency by applying the spot exchange rate between the functional currency and the foreign currency at the date of the transaction. Subsequently, at the end of each reporting period, you should translate: • All monetary items in foreign currency using the closing rate; • All non-monetary items measured in terms of historical cost using the exchange rate at the date of transaction (historical rate); • All non-monetary items measured at fair value using the exchange rate at the date when the fair value was measured. All exchange rate differences shall be recognized in profit or loss with some exceptions. How to translate financial statements into a PRESENTATION CURRENCY When an entity's functional currency is NOT the currency of a hyperinflationary economy, then an entity should translate: • All assets and liabilities for each statement of financial position presented (including comparatives) using the closing rate at the date of that statement of financial position. • All income and expenses and other comprehensive income items (including comparatives) using the exchange rates at the date of transactions. All resulting exchange differences shall be recognized in other comprehensive income as a separate component of equity. Bitcoin Mining we love bitcoinMining bitcoins can be quite complex and is usually not recommended for beginners. The process entails the use of sophisticated machines that are expensive and consume quite a lot of electricity to solve mathematical algorithms in exchange for bitcoins. Bitcoin miners enable bitcoin transactions by sharing their processing power. In exchange for enabling the bitcoin network to function, they are rewarding with new bitcoins. This is what “mining” refers to. Having said that, it is no longer considered lucrative for individuals to mine at home using mining equipment and the shift is being made towards more large-scale operations. If you do want to engage in bitcoin mining and are willing to invest in expensive mining hardware, it is strongly advisable to join a mining pool. In a mining pool, miners pool their resources together and share their hashing power with the aim of solving a block and dividing the reward equally, depending on the number of shares contributed by each person. It is an effective way to motivate small-scale miners to continue their involvement in mining activities. Some popular mining pools are: Antpool BTCC SlushPool Bitcoin Cloud Mining Alternatively, you could engage in bitcoin cloud mining. Bitcoin cloud mining is the process of mining bitcoins using a remote datacenter with shared processing power. Cloud mining is beneficial to individuals as it allows them to carry out their mining activities without having to manage the mining hardware. It enables you to earn bitcoins without mining software, mining hardware, bandwidth, electricity or other offline issues. However, there is a cost associated with cloud mining as a service and this will have an effect on your bottom line. The most reputable cloud mining company is Genesis Mining. I personally have a small bitcoin mining contract running with them. Having said that, the time it will take you to break even on bitcoin cloud mining can easily take well over a year and that is assuming the price of bitcoin doesn’t drop. If you want to play your part in the bitcoin network and want to mine at a low cost, then cloud mining is a good option. If you are looking for a lucrative investment, however, you are much better off just buying the cryptocurrency itself or engaging in peer-to-peer bitcoin lending. ATM transaction fees in Mexico Travel VLOG #178
ATM transaction fees in Mexico Travel VLOG #178 Traveling in Mexico? It's very important that you have cash. Not everyone accepts credit cards. As I left the US I took out about $500 USD. It is very simple I went to Chase ATM withdraw the money no fees or anything. Once I arrived in Mexico after a couple days of blowing money. Also paying for large ticket items like a hotel room in cash for multiple people I found myself in light on cash. Not to worry there's ATMs everywhere. There's even ATMs with American flags on them. But wait I'm in Mexico why is there an American flag on the ATM? Oh I get it now. That ATM dispenses us dollars. Right on this ATM to go to. I walk up to the ATM stick my card in and withdraw cash. I will charge 400 USD. The Mexican ATM the one with the American flag on it charge me around $27. (damn homes a lot of money.) But wait I'm not done with those ATM fees. Remember my bank Chase? Chase will charge me fees is well five dollar transaction fee Plus 3% fee of whatever you withdraw. Just remember if you travel to Mexico take a couple thousand dollars if you in cash. You will save a whole Lotta money on bank fees. Let's get to the video. Not to forget thanks a lot for watching guys. Definitely the thumbs-up. You should subscribe. Rome - How to withdraw money in Italy (Day 3.5) - vlog
Even for experienced travelers, withdrawing money at a fair rate or not getting your account locked when traveling abroad can be a challenge. You typically will get the best rate with your ATM card, as long as the local bank doesn't charge you a large fee. If that isn't an option, then using a credit card with no foreign transaction fees is your best choice. Finally, when in doubt just bring cash, but expect to have to shop around for a decent rate (usually outside of the main tourist areas). Regardless, it was a painful experience to waste a day trying to get local money. Using Coinbase Pro to Save Fees & Purchase Cardano
The Cryptodad demonstrates the Coinbase Pro trading interface for buying, trading, and transferring the top four cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin cash. Using Coinbase Pro in conjunction with your Coinbase account allows you to purchase and transfer cryptocurrencies safely and quickly. You can also use Coinbase Pro to transfer your coins to a personal wallet or a different exchange with NO FEES! I take advantage of this feature by using my Coinbase Pro account to fund my Binance cryptocurrency exchange account. Since Binance does not allow me to fund my account with US dollars, I must transfer cryptocurrency in from a different account. Coinbase Pro works great for this. I will use my Coinbase Pro account to fund a purchase of Cardano (ADA) on Binance. After I have purchased my Cardano, I will move it into my personal wallet for safe and secure storage. Avoid High Crypto Currency Transaction Fees on Coinbase / G-DAX | Part 1
Coinbase charges some fees that make you cringe, but there is a solution.. you can totally avoid these fees all together. Do not buy Bitcoin directly. When buying the available Crypto Currency’s, you want to deposit USD from a Bank Account or Debit Card into your “USD wallet” on Coinbase. When you have funds in your USD wallet, you will want to set up a G-DAX account, which is only a desktop feature and not a mobile app. G-DAX is the exchange Coinbase is connected to, only Coinbase is prettier and more user friendly meaning higher fees. (this is a process at first getting used to, but once you do it a few times it will be worth the additional time. A friend of mine was trying to buy Bitcoin from an ATM, Bank Account & Debit Card. The ATM fees are 10%, Bank Account fees are 1.5%, and Debit Card fees are 4% on Coinbase. Meaning for every thousand dollars you put in you have to pay anywhere from One hundred dollars to fifteen dollars per transaction. It ads up. Once your G-DAX account is set up you will send your funds to the USD wallet under ‘Accounts’. Make sure you take your ‘withdrawl’ address from Coinbase and place it in the ‘Deposit’ address on G-DAX. When you have your funds in your G-DAX USD wallet, you can then purchase Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin & Bitcoin Cash directly. Leave a comment with your experience with this. Part 2 of this video will show you a screen cast step by step from Coinbase to G-DAX

How To Avoid Crypto Currency Transaction Fees on Coinbase / G-DAX | Part 2

How The Stock Exchange Works (For Dummies)
Why are there stocks at all? Everyday in the news we hear about the stock exchange, stocks and money moving around the globe. Still, a lot of people don't have an idea why we have stock markets at all, because the topic is usually very dry. We made a short video about the basics of the stock exchanges. With robots. Robots are kewl! Short videos, explaining things. For example Evolution, the Universe, the Stock Market or controversial topics like Fracking. Because we love science. We would love to interact more with you, our viewers to figure out what topics you want to see. Copy Trading Fees on Etoro
Is copy trading free? What are the fees involved in copy trading? You can see the Copy People page here : http://etoro.tw/2fMizH2 All trading involves risk. Only risk capital you’re prepared to lose. Past performance is not an indication of future results. This content is for educational purposes only and is not investment advice. Cryptocurrencies can fluctuate widely in prices and are therefore not appropriate for all investors. Trading cryptocurrencies is not supervised by any EU regulatory framework. I get a lot of comments and questions about the fees involved in Etoro, and specifically in copying other traders - people are looking for a passive income, but everyone's a bit worried about hidden fees. It's not surprising as the whole idea of exchanges and brokers conjures up images of a fees extravaganza. Thankfully, it's not like that - if it was, nobody would stay... But there are fees, and it's best to know about them before having a go. There's the ones which you need to know about (if all you want to do is copy other people) and then there's ones which you really don't need to know about so much unless you're trading yourself. the first group are the withdraw and the conversion fees - you're going to need to pay these when you put money into Etoro, and also when you withdraw funds back into your bank account or credit card. There's also one based on being inactive on the site for over 12 months, but I've never heard anyone even experience that one yet :) The second group is spread, overnight, and weekend fees - the spreads are one of the primary ways that the broker makes their money - they're charged on all buys and sells on the site (it's the standard way this industry makes money) but they're for the person you're copying to worry about as it's part of their job. These charges will show up in the person you're copying's profit and loss for you, so if you don't like the way they're performing, you just find another person to copy. It's pretty simple. In this video I put cards which link to some of my other videos - they go into more detail about some of the subjects covered : Withdrawal Fee Update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_EiZBcUT1U&index=14&list=PLSp_9hRpu6lKOj-KjMnlULlG62zXNIBz9 Spread Fees: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjzXbe8lz40&list=PLSp_9hRpu6lKOj-KjMnlULlG62zXNIBz9&index=12 Overnight (Holding) Fees: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_9fRlL51dY&list=PLSp_9hRpu6lKOj-KjMnlULlG62zXNIBz9&index=13 My Etoro beginners Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noSTWBJkfvk&index=2&list=PLSp_9hRpu6lKOj-KjMnlULlG62zXNIBz9

Nicehash tutorial - How to withdraw money with no fees - Coinbase & Gdax
To view the youtube video with nicehash withdraw tips please visit following link: https://youtu.be/qLFCAeACfy0 Nicehash: nicehash.com/login Coinbase: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a483a9ae09d1603c791c9bd GDAX: https://www.gdax.com/ Hello Folks, another video from the tips & tricks series and the first serious one with Nicehash theme - pardon me for few jokes previously :-) So Nicehash recently enabled to transfer money directly to coinbase without any additional transaction fee (probably nicehash to coinbase partnership). Coinbase however takes some fees for exchange betwee currencies and it would be nice to remove this fee as well. Lucky for us coinbase has a partnership with exchange GDAX so you can transfer your money between coinbase and GDAX for free as well. GDAX also offers free exchange (buy/sell) of any currency supported. Once changed to your expected currency you can send the credit further. Please subscribe to my channel to see further videos and get notified once i have uploaded new youtube video. I hope this video helped you. If you enjoyed the video and you think it can help also some of your friends please like it and/or share on the social networks - facebook, twitter, etc. for better awareness of the solution. If you have some other IT related issues/questions please write them down in the comets and if I have time I might be able to create video for their solution too. Please note the amount of subscribers based on new youtube policy should reach 1000 shortly - so any new subscriber is welcome

TOP MONEY TIPS for Swiss Travel
Hey guys, this is Sarah, for Alpenwild. Today I'm coming to you from the beautiful town of Appenzell, Switzerland. In today's video I'm going to be talking all about handling money in Switzerland. If you are watching this video, it might be because you have an upcoming trip to Switzerland and you're wondering: What currency do they use in Switzerland? Should I get my hands on some local currency before my trip? How am I going to pay for things once I arrive there? The first thing that you need to know is that Switzerland uses the Swiss Franc. It does not use the Euro, like it's neighboring countries. The best, easiest, and most convenient thing to do is to get Swiss Francs at an ATM once you arrive to Switzerland. Your regular debit card will work to get cash. ATMs can be found almost everywhere. Switzerland has notes with these values: 10 franc, 20 franc, 50 franc, 100 franc, 200 franc, and 1000 franc. Each value is a different color and size, making them easy to recognize quickly. Switzerland has coins with these values: 5 rappen,10 rappen, 20 rappen, 50 rappen, 1 franc, 2 francs, and 5 francs. Cash and coins are great to have, but in reality most of your purchases in Switzerland will be done with a credit card. Credit cards are widely accepted in Switzerland, and you can use them almost anywhere. Paying with a card is convenient and secure, and is the way to get the best exchange rate. When you pay with card, sometimes it'll ask if you want to pay in Swiss francs or your local currency, and it's always best to select francs, as you'll get a better exchange rate that way. The US dollar to franc conversion rate is typically around 1:1, though it varies from day to day. Remember to call your credit card company before you leave to let them know you'll be travelling, this will ensure your accounts don't get blocked. Make sure to find a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees, as they can add up quickly.
