Watch more How to Use a Mac videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/515913-How-to-Right-Click-on-a-Mac-Mac-Basics Hi. Lisa here. I'm going to show you how you can right click on your Mac. So, first we're going to go to our system preferences. We're going to find some options to do with our trackpad. Once you open that you're kind of in the middle in the second row. You'll see trackpad. So, you click on that and we have a lot of options for point and click. First, you can turn on tap to click so that you don't actually have to push the button down to click or if you leave it off you will actually have to push down to click. Next, we'll see secondary click, which is another way to say right click. Underneath that we have a drop-down where we can pick the way that we want to right click. The first option is to click or tap with two fingers. So, if we have that selected, over here on the desktop when I push down with two fingers I get the right click menu. Now, if I choose the next option of clicking the bottom right corner, I can go down to the bottom right corner and click -- get the same menu. And finally, you can choose to reverse it. Maybe if you're left-handed or you just prefer to right click on the left hand side you could choose the bottom left corner and it's the same way. Finally, you can also choose to click normally, but to hold down control while you click. It will give you the same menu. There you go. Lots of different ways to right click on your Mac.

If you’re used to right-clicking on a Windows computer, you can use Control-click in a similar way on your Mac. If you have a Magic Mouse or other multiple-button mouse, you can configure the mouse to right-click the way you like best. On a trackpad, you can use a two-finger tap. 1. Open a shortcut or contextual menu: Hold down the Control key, then click an icon, a window, the toolbar, the desktop, or other item. 2. The options in shortcut menus depend on what you click. 3. Configure a multiple-button mouse: Use Mouse preferences. To open Mouse preferences, choose Apple menu, System Preferences, then click Mouse. 4. Configure a trackpad: Use Trackpad preferences. Mc OS: 10.14 Mojave Mouse: Magic Mouse 1st Gen (AA battery) The right click works on touch pad and ordinary cable mouses from a PC, only the Magic mouse lost the right click. To save your time, I'v tried everything I could possibly found on internet to solve missing of the right click of the Magic Mouse including: 1. check and uncheck the right click in system setting 2. delete bluetooth plist at /library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist 3. Hold Shift+Option and click the bluetooth icon in the status bar and then reset the bluetooth. Reconnect the bluetooth devices The method above does not solve the problem. You may try to re-install your mac OS to the latest version, in my case is 10.14 Mojave. ##Solution: Re-install your mac OS 1. press and hold Shift+Option+R while starting your mac 2. connect to the wifi when you can, and follow the steps 3. Re-install the OS to your original hard drive (cover the OS) in case you have multiple drives 4. Your right click is back. Everything should be just right, you will not lose any files and data.

Step#2 regedit Type 'regedit' and click ok. Step#3 open hkey_classes_root Click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT- *(star)-shelex-context menu handlers. Step#4 choose the file you want to remove All the folders listed under ContextMenuHandlers are applications that show up when you right click on a file in Windows. There are two things that you can do:-You can either delete the folder to remove the option or simply disable the folder. Disabling the folder is better since you will be able to bring it back later on. To disable an application, click the folder in the left pane. Right click on the key value on the right pane and choose "Modify". Add a minus (-) in front of the key value. Click OK, then the refresh button at the top and then try right-clicking on the file! By now, the program should be gone from the context menu. Step#5 Do the same for folders You can do the same for folders by going to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT-Folder-shellex-ContextMenuHandlers Keep in mind that you can either delete the folders under ContextMenuHandlers or you can simply disable them by editing the key and putting a -- in front of the value.

One way to right click on a Mac is to press the Ctrl (or Control) key when you tap the mouse button, or the trackpad. Don't confuse the Ctrl key with the Alt (or Option) key. The Ctrl key on a Mac is not the one next to the space bar, it's at the far end of the keyboard, on either the right or left side https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/how-right-click-on-mac-3610351/ Please Subscribe! like and comment. For beginners or advanced Mac users: These are my top 12 favorite Mac OS hidden features that you need to be using. Subscribe! http://goo.gl/RqU0nl Spacebar to preview One of the simplest tricks on Mac is press Spacebar to preview files. It works on a surprisingly large variety of file formats: office docs, PDFs, audio files, video files, fonts, etc. Saves a lot of time. Spotlight Cmd + Spacebar is the shortcut to Spotlight search which you can use to quickly open apps or files. This is a very simple and well-known feature and one of my most used keyboard shortcuts on the Mac. Spotlight can also perform calculations and look up other useful info like current conversion rates for currencies, the weather and flight statuses. Digitally Sign PDFs with Preview Preview app can automatically create a digital signature to allow you to digitally sign PDFs. Go to Preview, Tools, Annotate, Signature, Manage Signatures. Then hold up a signed piece of paper to the webcam and it will automatically create and save that digital signature for you so you can use anytime you need to digitally sign a PDF in the future. Emoji Keyboard To bring up the emoji keyboard in Mac OS simply press ctrl+Cmd+space Quickly hide or close apps Hold Cmd while pressing tab to scroll through your open apps. When you reach the app you want to close or hide, press either Q to quit or H to hide the app. Dictation MacOS has a built-in speech to text feature called Dictation. Instead of typing, just press the fn key twice and a microphone icon will pop up and then you can start speaking into your microphone and it will type out what you're talking and when you're done you just click Done. Screenshots Cmd + shift + 4 = Capture dragged area & save to desktop Cmd + shift + 3 = Capture entire screen & save to desktop Cmd + ctrl + shift + 3 = Capture entire screen & copy to clipboard Cmd + ctrl + shift + 4 = Capture dragged area & copy to clipboard Cmd + shift + 4 + Space = Capture a window & save to desktop Cmd + ctrl + shift + 4 + Space = Capture a window & copy to clipboard Quickly create file from selected text Select text then drag and drop to desktop or folder and it will automatically create a file with the selected text in it Change Volume/Brightness in Quarter-Step Increments Hold Shift + Option and change your brightness or volume to adjust in smaller increments for more precise control. Summarize Text Mac OS allows you to quickly summarize long pieces of text in just a few seconds. To summarize a text first select it, right click on the selection and click on “Summarize”. To enable the summary feature, click on the app name in the status bar, click Services, Services Preferences, scroll down and check “Summarize”. More Space If you own a #Mac with a Retina display you can scale the screen to create more screen space. This feature also works if you have a second monitor connected to your main Retina device. Go to System preferences, Display, Click Scale, and choose More Space. Quick Dictionary If you have a Trackpad you can select a word and do a 3-finger tap to quickly bring up the definition of the selected word. The right-click menus in Excel make it easy to apply commands quickly. For example, right-click a column heading, and click Insert, to add a new column. Unfortunately, the commands that you use most often might not be on those popup menus. Instead, you have to use keyboard shortcuts, or use the commands on the Excel Ribbon. However, there is a free Excel add-in that you can use, to customize those right-click menus. Add the commands that you do want, and remove the commands that you don't need. You can download the MenuRighter add-in from the YourSumBuddy website, at this URL: http://yoursumbuddy.com/menurighter/ Then, install the add-in, and there are instructions on my website, if you're not sure how to do that. The MenuRighter add-in appears as a command on the Developer tab of the Excel Ribbon. If you don't see that tab, follow the instructions here to show it: http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqMac.html#developer This video shows how to find a command that you want to install, then select a target menu, and add it there. You'll also see how to remove a command that you don't need on the right-click menus. 0:00 Introduction 1:15 Download the MenuRighter Add-In 1:32 Open the MenuRighter 1:55 Find a Command 3:57 Remove a Command 4:15 Reset a Menu 4:26 Save Time With MenuRighter

In this tutorial you will learn how to add options to right click menu in Windows Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial you will learn how to add options to right click menu in Windows: First, let us point one tip towards using right-click, contextual menu. Not everyone knows that there is an extended version of it, which can be accessed by pressing SHIFT and right-clicking the item. It is usually a place where you can find the extended options you would like to add. If your option of choice is not there, or if you simply want to perform some housekeeping on the right-click menu, there are various ways to reach it. We will present you the simplest one, that does not involve handling directly the Windows' internal registry structure, a place where the operating system keeps all its information. To achieve this result, we recommend a little application called ShellMenuView. It is an easy download that comes as a freeware application, which you can set up and run in no time. Step 1: Install and launch ShellMenuView Alt Text "download ShellMenuView" Once installed and launched, ShellMenuView offers a list of entries which are the content of your current contextual menu. You can edit these, as well as the extended menu, and you can add or disable items according to your liking. Step 2: select the entries you want to have in the contextual menu. Step 3 (optional): Install Send To Toys to add items to your Send To menu.
