Signiant - NAB 2015

02:33
This video also appears on http://www.ProductionHUB.com An interview from the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Rick Clarkson of Signiant. Signiant has a history rooted in developing file transfer software for some of the world’s largest companies. Originally created to move huge code bases around the world for global software development, Signiant’s solutions are useful wherever there is a critical need to move large data sets with security, reliability, and speed. In this interview Rick talks with us about Media Shuttle & Flight. Sending files with Media Shuttle is as simple as dragging and dropping them into a custom web page and clicking the transfer button. It’s so intuitive that users will never need a tutorial, training session, or even an email explanation. Media content files continue to get bigger and bigger – growing to 10's and 100's of GigaBytes – and are commonly part of daily workflows. Moving extremely large files is Signiants speciality, with Media Shuttle you don’t have to worry about compressing files, breaking them into smaller files, or loading them onto USB sticks or portable hard disks to get them where they need to go. Media Shuttle allows you to send any size file, anywhere, fast with no limits. With Signiant Flight, you can now consider cloud storage for all kinds of time-sensitive use cases. Their patented acceleration technology uploads large files up to 200x faster than a standard transfer, providing immediate access to mission-critical data. With latency out of the picture, you can enjoy the benefits of cloud storage in a much broader range of applications. The Signiant Flight solution provides automatic scaling and load balancing as your cloud payloads ebb and flow. Acceleration technology requires software and compute resources adjacent to the cloud storage, and they handle those things for you. Even for a huge bulk upload project and even from a new location anywhere in the world, there’s no need for your tech team to spin up new servers – Flight scales up automatically to meet the demand. Like all of Signiant’s software, Fight was built with secure design principles in mind from the beginning. Flight’s multiple layers of security and end-to-end encryption ensure that, even if one layer is breached, file content remains unreadable. Files are encrypted at rest, during transfer and retain a further layer of encryption while held in cloud storage, giving assets additional protection not provided by cloud storage vendors. With extensive 3rd party validation, Signiant Flight has the most secure file transfer protection available on the market. For more information please visit: http://www.Signiant.com

Accelerating File Transfers in Live Sports Production

31:11
Summary Producing live sporting event coverage has been, and continues to be, a challenging proposition for broadcasters especially with 4K resolution becoming commonplace, 8K on the near horizon and the continuing adoption of Virtual Reality (VR). With multiple cameras producing massive video files, moving all the uncompressed files for in-studio editing can be extremely challenging, especially as the distance between the event and editing room increases. Even with high bandwidth lines and accelerated managed file transfer solutions, obstacles may still remain. In this webinar, President and Co-founder John Tkaczewski discusses the challenges broadcasters are faced with and how accelerated file transfers are their best bet for delivering the best content. What & How With FileCatalyst Direct in your IT arsenal, file sizes will no longer dictate your transfer times. While moving media assets of any size format, or distance, FileCatalyst Direct makes the process a breeze - turning transfers that once took hours into minutes. FileCatalyst Direct is made up by a suite of client and server applications that accelerate point-to-point file transfers, providing speeds of up to 10, Gbps via our patented UDP-based fast file transfer technology, which is immune to the effects of packet loss and latency on a network. Who This is a perfect webinar that demonstrates how FileCatalyst can help Media & Broadcast organizations who are challenged with: - Moving content across multiple endpoints - Dealing with large, high-resolution media files - Remote editing workflows - Transferring Material Exchange Format (MXF) files - Performing high-concurrency transfers - Transferring dynamic file sets as they are being captured See FileCatalyst's Solutions: http://bit.ly/2LOASIN FileCatalyst in the Cloud: http://bit.ly/2LSDIga Facebook: http://bit.ly/2HQHfsH Twitter: http://bit.ly/2HOaVGW LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/2HNyCis Evaluate FileCatalyst: http://bit.ly/2LRRrUp

The recent Elon Musk and SEC development have sent Tesla investors into a selling panic. Tesla stock has been selling off from high $300's and currently is trading around $278. On Feb 26 the SEC comes out claiming that Elon Musk has broken his settlement from September 2018 over his infamous market moving "$420 Funding Secured" tweet. So being the huge fan girl and musketeer that I am, I'll be going over the COMPLETE Elon Musk vs the SEC drama from August 2018 to present, and explaining step by step how $TSLA reacted to each dramatic news. Tesla stock is extremely volatile and a favorite to trade among the day traders and swing traders. I will be providing some basic Tesla stock technical analysis in this video as well. 0:57 - Elon Musk's famous 420 Funding Secured Tweet: Stock shot up 11% intraday. Buyers were flooding in and shorts were panic covering. Nasdaq stock exchange even halted the stock near the end of the closing bell (Aug 7, 2018). 2:27 - Tesla Is Said to Be Subpoenaed by S.E.C. over Elon's tweet about taking Tesla private (Aug 15, 2018). 2:58 - Elon Musk releases decision to have Tesla stay public. $TSLA starts selling off on the daily chart and breaking below previous support. This contributed to the Elon Musk 420 meme (Sep 7, 2018) 4:36 - Justice Department opens a criminal fraud prove into Tesla. While SEC implies only civil charges, a criminal investigation like this could send Elon to serve jail time. (Sep 18, 2018) 5:15 - SEC sues Elon Musk for fraud and lying to Tesla investors. The regulators want Elon to step down from leading Tesla. $TSLA tanks -14%(Sep 27, 2018). 5:39 - Musk and SEC reaches settlement for fraud charges. 58:34
In this video, Jeff Kember and Hannes Ricklefs will discuss high-performance rendering on Google Cloud Platform. Topics covered will include security, connecting to the cloud, effective use of preemptible VMs, cloud file systems, licensing and additional VFX workloads including simulation and deep compositing. Hannes Ricklefs, Head of Core-Engineering at MPC will be speaking about their Academy Awarding winning VFX work. Disney's The Jungle Book required MPC to deliver work of unprecedented visual complexity.
