The Stock Market Explained Simply: Finance and Investing Basics - Animated Film (1957)

10:20
The New York Stock Exchange (sometimes referred to as "the Big Board") provides a means for buyers and sellers to trade shares of stock in companies registered for public trading. The NYSE is open for trading Monday through Friday from 9:30 am -- 4:00 pm ET, with the exception of holidays declared by the Exchange in advance. The NYSE trades in a continuous auction format, where traders can execute stock transactions on behalf of investors. They will gather around the appropriate post where a specialist broker, who is employed by an NYSE member firm (that is, he/she is not an employee of the New York Stock Exchange), acts as an auctioneer in an open outcry auction market environment to bring buyers and sellers together and to manage the actual auction. They do on occasion (approximately 10% of the time) facilitate the trades by committing their own capital and as a matter of course disseminate information to the crowd that helps to bring buyers and sellers together. The auction process moved toward automation in 1995 through the use of wireless hand held computers (HHC). The system enabled traders to receive and execute orders electronically via wireless transmission. On September 25, 1995, NYSE member Michael Einersen, who designed and developed this system, executed 1000 shares of IBM through this HHC ending a 203 year process of paper transactions and ushering in an era of automated trading. As of January 24, 2007, all NYSE stocks can be traded via its electronic hybrid market (except for a small group of very high-priced stocks). Customers can now send orders for immediate electronic execution, or route orders to the floor for trade in the auction market. In the first three months of 2007, in excess of 82% of all order volume was delivered to the floor electronically.[23] NYSE works with US regulators like the SEC and CFTC to coordinate risk management measures in the electronic trading environment through the implementation of mechanisms like circuit breakers and liquidity replenishment points.[24] Until 2005, the right to directly trade shares on the exchange was conferred upon owners of the 1366 "seats". The term comes from the fact that up until the 1870s NYSE members sat in chairs to trade. In 1868, the number of seats was fixed at 533, and this number was increased several times over the years. In 1953, the number of seats was set at 1,366. These seats were a sought-after commodity as they conferred the ability to directly trade stock on the NYSE, and seat holders were commonly referred to as members of the NYSE. The Barnes family is the only known lineage to have five generations of NYSE members: Winthrop H. Barnes (admitted 1894), Richard W.P. Barnes (admitted 1926), Richard S. Barnes (admitted 1951), Robert H. Barnes (admitted 1972), Derek J. Barnes (admitted 2003). Seat prices varied widely over the years, generally falling during recessions and rising during economic expansions. The most expensive inflation-adjusted seat was sold in 1929 for $625,000, which, today, would be over six million dollars. In recent times, seats have sold for as high as $4 million in the late 1990s and as low as $1 million in 2001. In 2005, seat prices shot up to $3.25 million as the exchange entered into an agreement to merge with Archipelago and become a for-profit, publicly traded company. Seat owners received $500,000 in cash per seat and 77,000 shares of the newly formed corporation. The NYSE now sells one-year licenses to trade directly on the exchange. Licences for floor trading are available for $40,000 and a licence for bond trading is available for as little as $1,000 as of 2010.[25] Neither are resell-able, but may be transferable in during the change of ownership of a cooperation holding a trading licence. On February 15, 2011 NYSE and Deutsche Börse announced their merger to form a new company, as yet unnamed, wherein Deutsche Börse shareholders will have 60% ownership of the new entity, and NYSE Euronext shareholders will have 40%. On February 1, 2012, the European Commission blocked the merger of NYSE with Deutsche Börse, after commissioner Joaquin Almunia stated that the merger "would have led to a near-monopoly in European financial derivatives worldwide".[38] Instead, Deutsche Börse and NYSE will have to sell either their Eurex derivatives or LIFFE shares in order to not create a monopoly. On February 2, 2012, NYSE Euronext and Deutsche Börse agreed to scrap the merger.[39] In April 2011, IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), an American futures exchange, and NASDAQ OMX Group had together made an unsolicited proposal to buy NYSE Euronext for approximately US$11 billion, a deal in which NASDAQ would have taken control of the stock exchanges.[40] NYSE Euronext rejected this offer two times, but it was finally terminated after the United States Department of Justice indicated their intention to block the deal due to antitrust concerns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Stock_Exchange

Economic Collapse Is Coming! $66 Trillion Dollar Dark Cloud Of Debt - 2019 Stock Market CRASH!

12:54
Shocking video of the imminent economic collapse and the $66 trillion dollar debt crisis. The borrower is the servant of the lender, and one of the primary ways that the elite keep the rest of us subjugated is through the $66 trillion dollar mountain of government debt that has been accumulated. Government debt hit $66 trillion dollar through the end of 2018, or about 80 percent of global GDP, according to Fitch Ratings. This $66 trillion is now almost twice as high as at the end of 2007. Every single day, the benefits of our labor are going to enrich somebody else. A portion of the taxes that are deducted from your paycheck is used to pay interest on government debt. A portion of the profits that your company makes probably goes to servicing some form of business debt.  And most Americans are continuously making payments on their mortgages, their auto loans, their credit card balances and their student loan debts.  The world has never seen anything like this mountain of debt ever before, and one of the central themes of Epic Economist youtube channel is that all of this debt will ultimately destroy our society with a horrible stock market crash and financial collapse. All over the world experts sounding the alarm that the extreme high debt could cause a major debt crisis and global economic collapse. The United States is, of course, the real king of debt in absolute dollar terms. Its consolidated general government obligations were listed as being close to $21 trillion dollar at the end of 2018. With the U.S. debt load so large, it would be easy to assume where the blame will goes after a major economic collapse. For a reference on the government debt load of the entire planet, the World Economic Forum put the global GDP tally for 2017 at about $80 trillion dollar. And the top 10 nations accounted for about two-thirds of that GDP figure. We might be writing about the world’s government debt nearing $100 trillion dollar much sooner than any of us might think. The U.S. economy is heading for the next economic collapse. When the next recession comes, you will know who to blame.  Every time the Federal Reserve has engaged in a rate hiking program since World War II, it has always ended in either a recession or a stock market crash. The Fed is the reason why the U.S. economy has been on a roller coaster ride for decades, and now we are steamrolling directly toward the “bust” portion of this cycle. The game is literally rigged against us, and we need to realize what we are up against. Tinkering around with the current system is not going to fix anything.  We need to ditch this current system and start again from scratch, but it will probably take a horrific economic collapse and stock market crash before most people start to understand this. 2 Critical Events Are Going To Happen After The Imminent Economic Collapse 2019 Stock Market CRASH!

11:55
Will the economic collapse happen in 2019? Where will it start? What impact will it have, and how will the world look after the global economic collapse and the Next Great Recession? Regarding how it will play out, Cezary Graf notes that Federal Reserve policy will lead to financial collapse and major stock market crash around the world. The economic collapse has already started. The Turkish lira is plunging, the Argentinian central bank has increased interest rates to the cosmic level of 60%, and Iranian inflation is skyrocketing. However, these are minor players. The crucial years will be 2019 and 2020 when the deadly cocktail will be served for India, Pakistan, China, Japan, and the European Union, among others. In 2020, the United States and the dollar will also be hit; however, the magnitude will be significantly limited, in contrast to what many are currently saying about the upcoming dollar collapse. In 2022, after the next global financial crisis and stock market crash the United States will be in the best shape of all major countries. I am ready to take bets. It is very naive to expect that after the 2000 dot-com bubble burst and 2008-2009 stock market crash, that the third one will again start in the US. From a conservative point of view, the US currency and bond supply are perhaps still too high, and rates may still be too low, however, despite its peculiarity, the dollar and US debt are the most popular US exports. During the next two years, when economic collapse will hit the emerging markets, we will have massive capital flows into the US. This will include the dollar itself, the US bond market, the US stock market, and US real estate. A massive chunk of the capital pulled out of emerging markets will be channeled to the most robust cryptocurrencies. The devaluation of EM currencies, the dismantling of the SWIFT system, and the pursuit of new investment solutions by private, corporate, and public parties will be the main causes of this great money movement. Cezary Graf states that the value of cryptocurrencies will rise substantially from 2019, thus making potential returns from other capital allocations much less attractive. Ignoring this is the manifestation of a deep misunderstanding of where the world is now and where it is going. This will be the first economic collapse with the crypto option on the table. UK: LONDON: STOCK MARKET CALM AFTER RECENT LOSSES

02:10
English/Nat There was relative calm on Friday in Europe's biggest financial market, the London Stock Exchange. The Financial Times-Stock Exchange 100-share index rose 5.1 points to 4,996.6 at the start of morning trading, signalling hope for thousands of investors after Thursday's losses. While jittery investors watched and waited around the globe, London's financial markets were calm early Friday. At the start of morning trading, the London Times Stock Exchange was up by 0-point-1 per cent after Thursday's three per cent fall. The 100-share index rose to just under 5-thousand points. Asian stocks also regained some ground Friday, buoyed by Hong Kong's partial recovery from a stock market crash that sent stocks tumbling worldwide. SOUNDBITE: (English) "The Chinese government I would have thought must be rather frustrated by this. I mean after all its only been three months since they took over the colony. It must be extremely frustrating. You wait 100 years to get your colony back and the economy falls out of bed as far as they're concerned. It would be like buying a car and then suddenly three months later its gone as well. Well, they should have asked for a better warranty I would have thought. It must be rather frustrating for them." SUPER CAPTION: Justin Urquhart Stewart, Barclay's Stock Brokers Thursday's 10 per cent collapse, Hong Kong's worst since the 1980s, had share prices plummeting throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. Major stock indexes fell more than 3 per cent Thursday in Japan, Britain, France and Germany. In the United States, the Dow Jones industrial average dropped 229 points at one point, or by 2-point-9 per cent. But Wall Street's best-known indicator recovered some lost ground, still closing down 186.88, or 2-point-3 per cent, at 7,847.77. Markets opened sharply lower in Asia Friday. But Hong Kong shares, after an uneven start, started to crawl upward, gaining 470.75 points to reach 10.897.05 and dragging several other markets up with it. Traders in Asia and London were taking heart from Hong Kong's rebound. SOUNDBITE: (English) "What we're seeing now is a recovery from yesterday's collapse where we saw those figures being really quite dramatic to start with going down nearly 200 points; we then ended up higher than that. Today what we're seeing now is further recovery going up currently at about 45. We're probably see a little more recovery on top of that prior to the weekend. But we are unlikely to make up all the losses of yesterday. SUPER CAPTION: Justin Urquhart Stewart, Barclay's Stock Brokers Brokers say uncertainty over the future of the Hong Kong dollar is still hanging over the market; nervous investors will just have to wait and see whether their shares regain value. 10 Expert Predict When The Imminent Economic Collapse & Stock Market Crash Will Happen

19:10
Will the Economic Collapse happen soon? These 10 well-known expert and strategists predict when will the U.S. economy collapse. There are ongoing speculations by the financial strategists that the stock market crash can begin as early as 2019. Therefore, the Federal Reserve will have to raise the interest rates to control the expected inflation. Could this be the end of the bull market? Some financial experts argue that the stock market has improved in performance, but they are no insensitive of the impending economic threat. According to a survey conducted by Bank of America on money managers, only 18% of them believe that the stock performance has improved. Historically, the stock market has been frothy but a bull performance has been sustained for the last 9 years. If history teaches right, the key determinant to successful investment is going against the normal. And this is what the strategists behind the survey are known for. Therefore, their warning about the potential economic crash should not be ignored. 한국, 세계 증시 시총비중 1.96%…전체 14위 Korea ranked fourteenth worldwide in terms of stock market capitalization in 2015. According to the Korea Exchange, the combined market cap of Korea's listed firms reached one-point-two trillion U.S. dollars as of the end of last year, …making up one-point-nine-six percent of the global market. While this is a one-and-a-half percent increase from the previous year, its global standing remained unchanged. In 2015, the combined global stock market shrank one-point-one percent on-year to 62-point-eight trillion dollars, due mainly to a fall in European, Middle Eastern and African stock markets. [STOCK MARKET NEWS UPDATE] - Warren Buffet didn't see THIS coming!

06:23
Stock Market News Update for Today, February 24th, 2019 Key stocks for the day: - KHC Stock is down another 27.5% after worse than expected earnings. With major exchanges closed on Monday for President's Day, the trading week kicked off on Tuesday. And the short week got off to a nice start with stocks higher on Tuesday and Wednesday. But Thursday was a rough one. The major indices opened lower and struggled for most of the day. By the end of the session stocks and erased the week's early gains. Then on Friday stocks bounced right back. And the major indices wrapped up the week at highs of the year. Traders were mostly focused on trade talks last week. And it sounds like there's more and more progress being made. According to reports, China has agreed to buy $1.2 billion in U.S. goods. President Trump said that with the progress being made he is looking at extending the March 1st tariff deadline, and is hoping to meet with Chinese President Xi next month. The Fed also helped with last week's rally. January's Fed Minutes showed that the Fed will remain "patient" when raising rates. And traders love the idea of keeping rates low. Without any major concerns, the DOW and NASDAQ closed higher for the 9th week straight. The S&P closed higher for the 4th week in a row, and according to FactSet, the S&P hasn't had a drop of 1% or more in the last 20 days. Here's where the major indices ended the week: - The S&P finished with a 0.6% gain. Up 17 points, the S&P ended at 2,793. - The DOW ended higher by 0.6%. Adding 149 points, the DOW closed at 26,032. - The NASDAQ was up 0.7%. With a 55 point gain, the NASDAQ finished at 7,528. Crude Oil (CL) finished higher for the 2nd week in a row. With a 2.3% gain, CL ended at $57.25 a barrel. Kraft Heinz (KHC) was messy on Friday after reporting worse than expected earnings. A dividend cut and SEC investigation didn't help matters, and the stock lost 27%! Even the Oracle of Omaha didn't see that coming. Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway shared that it took a $3 billion loss on KHC in the 4th quarter alone. =================================================== Markus Heitkoetter Rockwell Trading Services LLC 401 Congress Ave 1540 Austin, Texas 78701 (866) 467-0747 http://www.rockwelltrading.com Known for being able to teach anyone to trade in 60 minutes or less, Markus Heitkotter with Rockwell Trading has taught over 360,000 traders worldwide and has appeared on CBS, FOX, NBC, ABC and more. Germany: Frankfurt Stock Exchange recovers after 'Black Monday' panic

01:13
The German Stock Exchange showed signs of recovery in Frankfurt, Tuesday, following China's 'Black Monday' which saw global markets rocked by a worldwide sell-off of Chinese shares. German investors breathed a sigh of relief after the DAX bounced back up 4.19 percent. Other European stock markets also showed signs of improving with the UK's FTSE 100 rising over three percentage points to 6,077. On Monday Germany's DAX index fell by 4.7 percent to 9,648 points, a 22 percentage point drop from April's highest point. The fall, which reached up to 8.1 percent, before scaling back slightly, was believed to be a consequence of the German economy's high exposure in the Chinese market. Top Trends Forecaster, Predicts A Global Stock Market Crash by End Of This Year

00:46
Top trends forecaster in world, Gerald Celente, just predicted a global stock market crash before end of year. He gave the exact time frame in this exclusive King World News interview. He also spoke about how this crash will trigger a worldwide panic. Eric King: "Gerald, let's start off with the stock market because you want to make a prediction." Gerald Celente: “Yes. Rarely do I ever put a date on market crashes. I did it in 1987 when I forecast the 1987 stock market crash — that was in the Wall Street Journal. I also forecast the ‘Panic of 2008,’ and the 'dot-com bust' in October of 1999, when I said it (the dot-com mania) would fail in the second quarter of 2000…. Eric, I’m now predicting that we are going to see a global stock market crash before the end of the year. It’s not only going to be the Dow, it’s going to be the DAX, the FTSE, the CAC, Shanghai, and the Nikkei. There’s going to be panic on the streets from Wall Street to Shanghai and from the UK down to Brazil. You are going to see one market after another begin to collapse.” Within hours KWN released the incredible audio interview with the top trends forecaster in the world, Gerald Celente, where he discusses his prediction for a global stock market crash and panic in 2015, as well as giving the KWN listeners a peak at the just released Summer Trends Journal, and you can listen to it when it's released by CLICKING HERE: http://kingworldnews.com/gerald-celen... 16:29
Virtually every piece of hard economic data is telling us that the U.S. economic collapse is imminent.  Many of the pundits have been warning that we could officially enter recession territory later this year or next year, but these numbers seem to indicate that the next economic collapse could happen a whole lot sooner than that. But the stock market has been surging over the last two months, and at this point stocks are off to their best start to a year since 1987, and as long as stock prices are rising a lot of people are simply not going to pay much attention to the economic alarm bells that are ringing the coming major stock market crash.  But everyone should be paying attention, because things are really starting to get bad out there.  The following are 18 really big numbers that show that the U.S. economy is starting to fall apart very rapidly and the next economic collapse is on our doorstep… What is coming next has been a central focus of my work for a very long time.  The last recession was very painful, but it did not fundamentally alter life in America. This next economic crisis will. The “Everything Bubble” is bursting with a horryfic stock market crash, the “Perfect Storm” is coming, and all of our lives will never be the same again. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t hope.  In fact, once things really start getting crazy hope is going to be one of the major themes in my work because people are really going to need it. After the economic collapse and stock market crash there will be great challenges, and life will be very different, but that doesn’t mean that life is over. America is about to experience the consequences of decades of exceedingly foolish decisions, and the pain will be extreme.  But difficult times also offer an opportunity for dramatic change, and that is something that we will need to embrace. Tony Robbins Warns "The Crash is Coming"

12:45
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Financial guru Tony Robbins says plan now for what's to come. Things may be looking rosy on Wall Street as of late, but the crash will come. "We are in a really artificial situation. There is a new high, on average, every month. Feds around the world have been printing money," said Robbins. In his new book, Unshakeable, he breaks down what to do when things go bad. "Instead of selling, you want to stay. The stock market is the only thing that goes on sale for 50 percent off and everyone panics. A bear market is the greatest opportunity of your life. In two centuries of American history, a bear market is always followed by a bull market," said Robbins. Two moves to make when things go south: 1. You have to become an owner not just a consumer. If you own an iPhone, you should own Apple (stock). 2. Understand the power of compounding. Keeping your money in the market will lead to big returns in the long run. 100 percent of proceeds from 'Unshakeable' will go towards Feed America. "We fed 100 million people last year. In this country, 47 million people go to sleep each night not knowing if they'll get a meal in the morning," said Robbins.
