PayPal is too behind, their process is too complicate to use. Why don't they use NFC if the phone supports it?

Google refunded over 10 thousand dollars of money that I made off of my virtual private game, which supported the amount of money spent on programming/dedicated server fees/ddos protection/&& more. This happened in 2009. My account was opened on the 24th of March, and it was closed not even a month later. After the money was charged to the buyer, the virtual goods were delivered by a pincode system which allowed the user to enter the pincode in the game and receive the item they were buying. All of the goods had been delivered on the game, with no chargeback initiated to my account, which showed high customer satisfaction rates. I received an email from google telling me that my account had been closed, and all funds received from the 24th of March had been refunded to the buyer!! That was the day my account was created!! They had no right to refund all of this money when the items had already been delivered, virtual or not! They refused to cooperate with me about my account and why they had refunded all of the funds. I am still concerned about this issue and wonder if anything can be done. I have payment records of every transaction showing the system (e-junkie) used to process the payment & deliver the virtual goods.

I get how these things will be so hard to catch on in the US... contactless payment is so common in the UK that it will be such an easy transition in comparison
Steve (2 years ago)
Google mobile billing is now available in 45 major markets worldwide compared to just a handful for Apple. If you are traveling internationally, Google is WAAAAY ahead of Apple.
Steve (2 years ago)
Your information is NOT correct. Google Wallet is MUCH more secure than any other digital payment system. Google stores a customers credit card information in the cloud...when a customer uses Google Wallet, the charge goes to a GOOGLE CREDIT CARD, NOT directly to the users card. Once the merchant accepts the payment, then Google will in turn charge the user for the amount of the purchase. If anyone hacks the NFC or the Google Wallet transaction, they will only have access to GOOGLE'S credit card information...NOT the users. This keeps the users information and credit card account completely safe and secure.

DO NOT.. DO NOT do google wallet. They closed my account for Fraud Activity that I said Yes that was me making those charges. Let me explain. I was traveling... I made some charges in another state. I also needed to put more money on the account. They said it was Suspicious Activity. I got an email that stated this information, and to send a copy of my drivers license and bank account statement. I did that and stated "Yes I made those charges".... Any other bank would release the hold.. The next email I got was "After reviewing your account .....decided to Close your account please use this link to request your money back... And we reserve the right to close your account for any reason per our terms....".. I was livid. I was in a different state and all my money was tied up in the Google Wallet. Never got a response back from people who made the final decision. Even though I had done request a customer representative link several times. RIP OFFS

Of course though, apples Apple Pay & wallet is way smoother. Everything's way smoother with iPhone. Samsungs are cool yeah but if you want long lasting phone that even if your iPhone is old will still get all these new features and updates .. Up to 4 generations old iPhones continue to be supported 😁while all these androids just be left in dust all glitchy and shit. Blah personal preference from experience
Aleksander (7 months ago)
Axell M yes smoother, untill, you get battery throttling, problems with chips after the shit design bends in your pocket, ICO chip will cause your phone to reboot, shut down ect... So smooth.

Things that most android devices can do that apple can't Note: most of these might be useless for you I'm just saying so dont reply me that's stupid And I don't have an iPhone so don't blame me if the information is not 100% correct And if my information is incorrect the reply to me 1. Send any type of file instead of just photo, video with Bluetooth Sending any type of file might be useful because let's say you have a power point and you need to send it to your friend to edit and you don't have much data left to send to cloud the send it via Bluetooth or NFC 2. Have a removable back cover to replace battery or a micro sd card to expand slot Having a removable back cover can help because you don't need to wait for your phone to fully charge you can just pop another battery In and you will be charge and having a micro sd slot can help for storing more files and if you need more the just copy and paste to your new micro sd card 3. Using your phone like a flash drive You can use your phone like a flash drive to store files 4. Using your phone as a wireless card Lets say that your Ethernet cable (internet cable)broke and you don't have a spare cable the use you phone as a wireless card just connect to your wifi and use USB tethering. Note: turn off your data incase your wifi goes down and waste your data 5. Otg (on the go) Otg is a cable that act like an USB lets say that you have and flash drive but you don't have an computer nearby or unavailable the just use your android it can read most USB device like flash drive, wired piano, charging other phones, and even controllers 6. Apps are use less space on devices than apple Android compress most apps so they don't use a lot of space 7. More customization 7a. Settings You can find many different setting in different devices like turning off your camera in the lock screen so your friends don't spam bunch of useless photos or make a text appear on the lock screen or changing the GPS to only use wifi or data to save power or just use GPS for a bit accurate location and save data or even both for most accurate data 7b. Camera You can record with lower quality to save space or record with an filter. You take photos with location tags which record where you are when you took the photo 7c. Contacts You can put where someone lives and when you search the person name then it pops their name and the address 8. Maps Google maps automatically save where you been most and set that as your home and where you went as your work. You can even rename a place and search it later and street view have a sensor when you tilt the device the you can look around 9. Emulators There are many emulators on google play store while you have to go to a third party website to get one on the iPhone

And before long they will be implanting you with chips. Dispute it all you like, it could be a coinsidence or most likely the truth, but we are entering the days of the Mark of the Beast. No person with out the mark, rich or poor, will be able to buy or sell without the mark. It's in scripture, and very old. Long before Sci fi existed. You decide, but my mind is made up.

google is bringing out a new payment system android pay and it is going to work on every single machine everywhere even machines with old terminals because android have the ability to transmit magnetic waves and can trigger the magnetic stripe reader on terminals
Starfish (3 years ago)

Apple stole the idea from Alibaba. Alibaba formed Alipay in 2004 to facilitate mobile/online payments while Apple pay was established in 2014. However, American pride would never want to admit that this is a Chinese innovation that Apple copied.

Apple Pay will change the way we pay for things. And before you say 'Google Wallet is better/older/on more phones' remember Google hasn't been pushing it as a major feature of Android. Thanks to Apple, it will, meaning marketing will be directed at both iPhone and Android customers, and adoption of both will rise.
Burrito (2 years ago)
Bcuz of Android pay, Samsung Pay and Apple pay there's going to be more retails to support NFC im still waiting to be able to pay with my phone directly into gas station pump
bluiflip (3 years ago)
As i always say, its all about preference. It's not what's the best, it's whats's best for you. Either way, innovation and new/improved developments are great for industry and for consumers.
Martin Godinez (3 years ago)
Think about it its not Apple that makes it successful it's the ifans like you. The same people that wait in line to buy another phone when they already have one.. They are the ones that push any of apples developments. It's a good thing for us Android user so I say thank you.
bluiflip (3 years ago)
Thank you! These damn Fandroids keep missing the whole point of all this and won't hesitate to bash apple any chance they can get.

We've had the ability to use mobile payments here in canada for a long time. Every card reader I've seen has NFC, even some gas pumps and vending machines have it. This is probably the first time we've had a technology before the states!
BW022 (4 years ago)
Why is this any better than a credit or debit card? Simply swipe the card with a chip for inexpensive purchases or insert it and enter a pin for more expensive ones. Doesn't require a $500 phone, special terminals, special merchant nonsense, etc.
Ethan Barker (4 years ago)
Apple pay is great, but I still think google wallet is better. More features and WAY more phones that work with it. But then again, people are acting like apple invented it so it might catch on.
Pete Nicholson (4 years ago)
Even Apple aren't acting like they invented mobile payments. They say mobile payments haven't caught on, which is true. Before Apple Pay, who mentioned Google Wallet in the android vs iPhone debate?
Jrmjuve10 (4 years ago)
I still feel like swiping your card is easier and faster.
Chris Crump (4 years ago)
People are arguing over which service makes them lazier? Wow All I see is "You don't have to open the app with apple pay" etc. Are you serious? These services are just promotional methods for stores to get your money in an "Easier" way. Swiping your card, or tapping your phone... Who cares, your money is still gone
LinusMLGTips (3 years ago)
Battlefield 4 was practically optimized completely for windows 8 so that performance increase was obvious. As for every other game your third comment's link basically proves my point. There is a VERY minimal performance increase going from windows 7 to 8.1 if you look at the almost misleading graphs close enough.
LinusMLGTips (3 years ago)
You must be talking out of your ass. Windows 8.1 pro does NOT give you a 33% performance boost in games. Show me a source or some benchmarks

When I activated my card on my apple pay my ban sent me an email letting me know that someone used my card with apple pay. That someone was me but if it were not I could have called my bank and had those chargers reversed and my card reissued. But once you have it activated you don't even need to take it out of your wallet, making it harder for anyone to steal it.
Jimmy Owens (3 years ago)
+Sulfen What about the issue of people using other people's credit card numbers on apple pay?  Since it's their phone touchid works just fine.

IOS does run smoother than Android . I used Iphone 6 and now Note 4.  Apple just didn't have some important features I really need that Android has.   I would never used Pay Pal on big items. My account recently got hacked. Someone transfered $1500 into my paypal and tried to put that amount in a green dot card.

*ALERT* I'm warning you now. *DO NOT USE GOOGLE WALLET*... I decided I wanted to test it out months ago and my experiecnce was the worst. I had the card mailed out to me and here were my issues: 1). They don't laminate their cards, so it get's dirty very fast. 2). I put $400 dollars on my Google Wallet, and went to the store to use it - next thing I know, they lock my card and account (With nearly $327 in it), and accuse *me* of fraud, because I used my it several times in one day. 3). *Terrible customeer service*... Google uses mostly foreigners as their customer service representatives. So they don't understand you half the time.  4). *I wanted my money back* that they locked away, and they said there was nothing they can do about it.  *They wanted me to send 3 forms of proof of I.D (Which I did)... A *MONTH* past by, I call, call, call... They hangup.  *Finally* I went to Wallet support forum, and I showed them, that I was preparing to sue them. *They unlocked my account so fast after that*... They lie and lie, saying there's nothing they can do, but in all, they just don't care about the customer and YOUR money. *I withdrew my money, and never looked back at all the corruption that is called Google Wallet.

Back when Google Wallet first came out on the Nexus S I used it in McDonalds here in Ireland. They gave $10 free and I remember the puzzled look on the cashier when I tried to pay my €1 burger with it, it wasn't even available here officially! I have both Google Wallet and Apple Pay setup. Haven't tried either yet, I guess I'll have to try it sometime this week and see. Although I'm old fashioned and still prefer cash, debit and credit cards imo are faster and a bit more convenient but very tedious. I've always hated plastic cards, I didn't use them for months and saved more money by limiting myself to paper and no one could track my 20$ paper bill

Apple is thinks they've done something big. Well its too late. In 2015 we will be introduced to a new mobile pay Merchant Consumer Exchange. CurrentC Free app already available in which u will scan a barcode with your phone or receipt using your mobile device and transaction complete. Retail stores have begun blocking nfc cause they have plans set for the new CurrentC. Once again apple your late to the game.

Come on CNET, Host card emulation doesn't store anything in the cloud. Its a method for securely routing the transaction process through the CPU instead of the secure element on the SIM that carriers lock down to prevent Wallet from functioning. Google stores the card information on its servers due to online checkouts and play store transactions.
mrbrainchild76 (4 years ago)
google wallet.

timtampa (4 years ago)
Very Apple biased and very inaccurate when it comes to Google Wallet. Google has since day one used tokens and a secure element. Every time you use it, a unique token is used so there's no risk for security hacks. Only different is with Apple they lock the NFC so you cannot use it for other purpose like you can Android or Windows Mobile devices and the method to unlock it, biometric vs PIN. PayPal supports biometric on the Note 4 and other devices. NFC payment has also been available in PayPal for quite some time as well, as a widget you add to your Android home screen, though for user to user transactions.

I have been using Wallet for the past two years at Duane Reade and McDonald's. Those with iphones were impressed on how fast and easy it was. For you guys to say there are too many steps. Clearly have no idea what you are doing. I just tap and pay by the time I get to the register. No need to enter a pin. You can do that beforehand. Plus, like Sharon said...its so much easier to send money on it. Furthermore, its implemented into gmail. And don't forget Google also has a physical Wallet credit card, that you can request from Google.
Andrew Liu (4 years ago)
+Pavarotttii i agree. However, I did say that I enter it before I get to the counter. Plus the app can be in the background. So all the clerk see is your home screen.
Pavarotttii (4 years ago)
If you don't protect your Google wallet with a pin, then you're an idiot.

Great comparison. Paypal's system seems clunky, just like the rest of its service. I hate how they lock up your account randomly and require you to provide even more ID than you need go to another country.
